writer MC, world hopping, CHARACTER GROWTH, smart MC, no CP

System: Han Yanyan, you have been chosen to quickly transmigrate between worlds. What gold finger cheat would you like? You can ask for one here.

Han Yanyan: If the world is peaceful and prosperous, I'd want to be rich and beautiful. If it is a dangerous world, then I'd want to be strong.

System: Sorry. Your conditions cannot be met.

Then why did you bother asking?! (╯ '□ ') ╯(┻━┻

I'm just...Wow. This is freshly baked, I just. literally finished. MTLing this. This is a great novel, but if you like going in blind, and enjoying the reveal one by one, BEWARE OF SPOILERS.

So our MC is a writer, #SPOILER gets abducted by a mad scientist to wake up 'clients' by entering a 'fake world' with them. At first, she thought that it was a Quick Transmigration System like in novels, but the truth is far more...darker/sadder. Anyways...the arcs.

Btw, The ML is the 'main client'. MC also gets other clients, but the ML is the main person that she needs to wake up/her 'goal'. They experience many worlds together cos...he's so hard to wake up.

- MC enters a Cinderella Mary Sue novel-like world. She's a poor clerk, the ML/client is a rich President. Her 'System' (kidnapper) told her that the goal is to make the ML fall for her so she follows the 'routine', refuses money, accepts flowers, gets kidnapped by ML's crazy fiancee, but the 'world' is probably too stupid so the ML destroyed it, LITERALLY, like...he disintegrated it.

- Zombie Apocalypse world. MC is a weak but beautiful woman. ML is the strongest ability user. He recruits her to their team and offers to make her 'his woman'. Of course, our MC plays hard-to-get/refuses at first to show that she's "different from the other girls". Laters, she learns the 'trick' that ML liked strong women so she trained her ability crazily until she could stand shoulder to shoulder to ML and became ML's official(?) girlfriend. But ML is too cold and the 'mission' is still not completed...so MC plans to sacrifice herself for ML in order to get his heart. #SPOILLLERR But before she could do, ML sacrificed her first...which proves that ML didn't value her at all.

- Modern World. The saddest arc for me... QAQ MC becomes the fiancee of a rich's heir for a business marriage. Of course, our MC's family is wealthy herself. Same routine. Rich President falls for poor girl, MC is the fiancee. But she didn't follow the 'routine', she agreed to break the engagement and got married to her ex-fiancee's brother instead and made the 'heir' regret it. #SPOILERRRRR This is the saddest arc for me cos MC's 'husband' (the brother) was the perfect lover to MC plus he gave her all these promises and how they would spend the rest of their life together... QAQ *sniff*

- Modern World. MC becomes a student strapped for cash, she works as a waitress in a nightclub. ML is the club's owner. Actually, MC's FIRST identity was an undercover policewoman BUT as soon she saw ML, she tried to kill him. So MC's kidnapper--the mad scientist--reset the world and changed MC's role to a poor student. Poor but pretty student attracts the ML's interest, they get together, even became husband and wife. At this time, MC knows that ML didn't really need to fall in love with her, she just needs to 'stimulate' his emotions and hate is more intense than love so she worked step by step to get his love and trust and then betrayed him to the police.

- Interstellar world. MC plays a 'trick' on her kidnapper and got to experience this world twice. The client likes mechs so the setting of the world revolved around mechs, MC learns how to use spiritual power here. But the biggest takeaway here is a change in MC's mentality that 'strength rules it all', she can't count on the others to pity her and save her. If she wants to escape from her kidnapper, she would have to do it herself. MC's identity is the next Family Head of a wealthy family, the client is a distant cousin. On the world's second run, she raised this cousin to be obedient to her, that she is 'good' to him, but later reveals that everything her family has given him was paid for by his own mother by enduring humiliation, in the end, client's mom committed suicide. The client/cousin later 'wakes up' after he revenges on MC. They had a brief talk. She treats this 'client' as her life mentor.

- ML's attendant (in real life) pity MC and orders the kidnapper to let her go leave the 'fake world' for awhile. She gets released from the cabin and into the spaceship and even interact with Leo, her kidnapper. She manipulates him, tries to soften him and then tried to KILL HIM. Leo didn't die, and it turns out that this is just another 'fake world'. Leo becomes angry with MC for playing him and even wants to rape her body. The attendant protects her but he promises that when ML wakes up, they will leave and MC will stay with Leo. MC learns that the System has self-consciousness and befriends him.

- Another interstellar world, but they live in a junk star. MC sets ML to be a baby with all of Arc 2/Zombie Apocalypse's world ML's memories, so ML thought he was reborn or transmigrated. MC is the girl who picked up ML. As a baby, he is heavily dependent on MC in order to live, MC sets obstacles in their life in order to get ML's trust. ML even became disabled/blind and MC did not abandon him so ML's trust in her is firm that she will never abandon him. Laters, she did; and all the confusion, hate, betrayal, weakness the ML felt ALMOST wakes him up but MC shut down the world.

- Restart of the 2nd arc. Zombie apocalypse world. ML is still the strongest ability user, but this time, MC set herself as a strong ability user as well. She has the power of water and ice and has the power to awaken 'abilities' of other people. Here, MC shined so much that she overshadowed ML's limelight. ML wakes up due to frustration that MC is stronger than him.

- #SPOOOOILLLEEERRR ML and his cronies leave and MC stayed with Leo. Leo tortures her in the 'fake world' but the System blocks it all for her. She is trapped in the fake world going thru many worlds and waking up many clients. Leo wants MC to 'surrender' to him just like with the ML's of the first few worlds (Arc 2-4) when MC can only use her body as a weapon/bargaining chip. He becomes angry and rapes MC's body when he learned that she had contact with one of the clients who is not ML (the Life Mentor in Arc 5). The System is distressed for her. Meanwhile, ML starts to remember MC's psychological hints: Kill Leo Pike. He learns the truth from his attendant and goes back to rescue MC, but at the time, MC & the System found a chance for MC to escape. She was able to hurt Leo but Leo was able to Format the System before he was caught. MC meets ML, he helps her and later, she leaves to travel the universe alone.

What I really like from this novel is the CHARACTER GROWTH, we see MC who thinks she can conquer ML thru 'love routines' gets slapped in the face by reality. She loves, she hates, she really INVESTED herself in Arc 2 only to be...betrayed like that by ML. The Arc 3 was supposed to be an easy/vacation world but it was a different brand of hurt, cos it really hurt how PERFECT it all was, how...it makes you wish it was real. We see MC become more and more indifferent, less and less investing her real feelings to the characters of the fake world. We see her learn how to manipulate, how to 'stimulate' the clients to wake them up. We see her throw away her old silly self and just concentrated on making herself stronger, survive, escape, kill the enemy.

I like how tenacious our MC is, studying her kidnapper, the ship structure, giving psychological cues to ML to kill him. She never gave up on saving herself, and when she almost forgets, the System is there to remind her. Even after she's gone through so many worlds and in her 'perception' so manyyyyyyy years have passed she even forgot her real name, but she never forgot her enemy.

I like MC's cleverness, how she discovered that she 'built' those fake worlds (writer MC!) but the kidnapper just made her forgot. I like how every action of hers has meaning, how she 'cheats' the kidnapper by colluding with the System. MC is really just disadvantaged by her lack of information and that her body is in the hands of her kidnapper. She succeeded in killing Leo in Arc 6, its just too bad that it was also a fake world, a very real replica of the kidnapper's ship.

This also took a dark turn on 'quick transmigration'. 1. Cos Leo was such a slave-driver and makes her work regardless of her feelings, he even mocks her for it; and enjoys torturing her if she doesn't obey. 2. She is basically imprisoned, her body in the hands of her kidnapper and he could do all kinds of things with it (and he did! scum! trash! dieeeeeee!!) plus she basically has no privacy, she is being watched and her kidnapper could even replay all her private actions with the ML. I am so glad for the System companionship which prevented MC from going crazy and for protecting her from Leo when he can, for crying for her, for caring.

For the ML, he's ruthless and stone-cold but his experience with MC gave him more human feelings. #SPOILER But yeah, I agree with them not ending up together. Like MC said, they were not really "them" in those fake worlds, they had a setting, MC was doing things behind-the-scenes, and I feel like ML never really "loved" her romantically (except in Arc 4). I guess the one with the biggest impact on him was when he was a baby and him & MC depended on each other.

Overall, I think the ending is good...very logical. After escaping from hundreds/thousands of years (in her perception) of imprisonment from her kidnapper, I think MC would be this kind of person, calm...no longer caring about the ML who she used to love and hate or the attendant who abandoned her. The ending is GOOD, but I WISH IT WAS BETTER, our MC deserved a happy ending damnit! (System!! Huhu!!) Wish the author-sama could've given an alternate ending.

Read this for weak-to-strong heroine and if you like...punish-the-ML novels.

Nearest reco... I can't think of a nearest reco actually :P This was quite...unique for me.
