​Hmm.. its been a while since I read a JAP novel, and a reincarnated-into-a-villainess-in-an-otome game one at that.

So our MC reincarnates as a villainess of an otome game she played. She restores her memory when she was five and in order to avoid getting dragged into the storyline once the 'game' starts, she decides to crossdress into a guy.

So while being a guy, she somehow became famous as the School Prince cos she says all this cheesy lines she thinks are 'manly'. Her little brother, one of the game's capture target, know all about her reincarnated-in-an-otome-game thing from her so he helps cover for her. Anyways, like in Bakarina, all the plot has pretty much derailed because of her and most capture targets become interested in her instead. There's also her fujoshi friend who reincarnated as the heroine and also has no intention to follow the game plot.

By the end of Volume 1, Adoptive Lil Bro has already fallen for MC, the Crown Prince is still fighting it cos he thinks she's a guy and the assassin capture target knows about her crossdressing and thinks she's a funny and interesting gal.

Like I said, its been awhile since I've read a JAP novel so I was unprepared for the DENSE (and airheaded) female protagonist with a HEART OF GOLD filled with so much kindness (and blind optimism), she would jump into the firepit herself for the sake of FRIENDSHIP!! AND THEN she would meet kind-hearted assassins that would let her go too!! (Author-sama really loves her, huh.)

The MC's dense setting was killing me cos it was sooo obviousss from the narration. Lol. But somehow, our MC would come into a completely different conclusion as if on purpose (Author-sama must be doing it on purpose right?). I think there's a fine line between being dense and just..stupid and I tend to lean on the other one for our MC here. (Sorry!)

It's quite cliche, nothing new for me (Bakarina has done it before except the crossdressing part) but it IS funny so you can check it out if you want a quick read.

Nearest reco: I Reincarnated into an Otome Game as a Villainess With Only Destruction Flags (Bakarina) and Observation Record of a Self-proclaimed Villainess' Fiance. The Villainess MC's have similar personalities.

Also, I hope you don't think I'm dissing JAP otome novels. To each his own, I just prefer MC's with a different...personality like the MC's of Common Sense of a Duke's Daughter or The Reincarnated Princess Spends Another Day Skipping Story Routes~ :D
