七零年代小炮灰 番茄菜菜
: 330 (ongoing)
Read up to C330.
nation-building, business management, 70s
When she crossed over, Ruan Wen became the 'belle' of the cotton factory in the 70s.
It was said that Ruan Wen had a good life, she seized a potential stock, an educated youth called Xiao Wei. When Wei Xiangqian graduates from the University, Ruan Wen could go to the provincial capital to enjoy the blessing.
In fact, Ruan Wen knew that Wei Xiangqian would divorce her for work reasons before graduation and then marry his college English teacher. She would go to find her husband, find out the truth and become crazy since then coming to a tragic end.
But who made her this cannonfodder...?
Hmm... well, its another 70s novel, but this one is a little bit different from the ones before. If the others just want to live a happy family life, be lovey dovey with ML and be wealthy. This time, the scale is much much larger...our MC wants to build the country.
So our MC is reborn as a little cannonfodder in a 70s novel. The heroine is a 'lucky' girl. The original saved her from drowning, as a result, the original's health became bad, she was unable to bear children, was tricked by an educated youth to marry him and support his studying. Later, he divorced her to marry a daughter of a cadre. The original stayed in the village and was raped by a gangster, she committed suicide, her aunt died of sadness and her cousin went crazy.
So when MC came over, the first thing she did was to NOT save the heroine. (Her cousin saved her though). She stays away from the heroine and the educated youth 'ex-husband' , but if they come to her for anything, she would always be hostile to them. The college entrance examination is resumed, MC and her cousin became college students. Cousin went to the Capital, MC came to the provincial capital to major in chemistry. She finds a good partner/right hand man(?) and they want to build a factory to make #spoiler(?) sanitary napkins.

Laters, the government policy change, state owned factories and research institutes were closing down since they don't receive government funding anymore. MC takes out her 'invention' , make the factories/research institute produce it so they can generate income to maintain their operation, the profits would become their budget for research. Laters, MC branched off to diapers, milk, ham, denim etc. Most of it are exported abroad, so she is also generating income for the country (thru tax). What else? She also reclaims the frontier, investing in seeds, machines etc to turn wasteland into farmland. So yeah, nation-building.
For the ML, they meet early. MC happens to save him when he was dying on the mountains. If there was no MC to pick him up there, ML would probably be just another cannonfodder in the novel, the kind that didn't even have a name or screentime. ML also happens to be close brothers with the heroine's Male Lead. Unfortunately, MC is also hostile to the novel's Male Lead (Well, they are hostile to each other). Anyways, they get together later, ML's career also has many twists and turns until he finally landed to teaching in MC's University. They get married later and had a daughter.
So far, MC is still building the nation, coming up with new businesses to make money to make the country richer. Many people even want her to go to politics. Of course, its not all good, there are political enemies, the heroine blackened and targeted her everywhere. There are shameless sister-in-laws, former officemates, widows of ML's comrade who all want to leech off her cos she's rich. (Her million dollar deals with other countries are reported) so yeah, there will be disgusting people here and there~ (This is up to C330)
Hmm.. its okay. I didn't expect our MC's scale to be so big. She is practically shouldering the whole country's development. This is also why my tags have business management but no poor-to-rich cos most of MC's profit goes to supporting the research institutes in the country. MC is selfless but not a Saint (she helps people sometimes on a whim, but she can't tolerate 'useless' people who don't want to help themselves) I guess the proper term should be that MC is very...patriotic. This is okay but I guess, there are many more chapters to come cos MC's plan for a strong rich country is still quite far.

I like that MC is sharp, and its good for dealing with enemies, but MC is also sometimes too sharp that she makes enemies for herself. For example, with the ex-husband. From his POV, MC is inexplicably hostile to him, he can't figure out the reason that's why he also retaliates heavily to MC cos he felt like he hasn't done anything wrong to deserve such hatred. This also goes for the heroine which caused her to blacken. I guess it just felt out of place....? Cos MC is not the original, but she has so much hatred for the original's 'enemies'. I suppose her hatred would make more sense if this was a rebirth story (of the original) instead.
There's also the hate(?) for foreigners. MC is friendly to some, like with business partners. But she also tends to generalized sometimes. It's just weird that she speaks of racial discrimination to Asians/Chinese (that's why she wants a strong rich country) but doesn't think there's anything wrong with her own attitude/dislike for foreigners.
Not a fave. I prefer sweet/fluffy, more family life/slice of life. (MC always rans out to do business so few family moments/romantic moments with ML). Might get back to this someday, but I won't regularly check for updates.
Nearest reco is a BL novel, Investment Life. It's also about changing the country's economy/making the country richer, but this one is purely through Investment, not inventions/businesses.

Reaper of Cantrips
On the alien planet of Scaldigir, where the people are grey, there are average individuals, and then, there are arcanes. Every arcane gets one power, except for the reapers. They can take as many powers as they want, so long as they lift them from the bodies of the dead and the dying. It’s a useful power that could preserve the best abilities among the arcanes – in theory. Thus far, every reaper has been too impatient to wait for the deaths of their comrades. Murder and neglect; the words are synonymous with reaper. That’s how everyone else sees it. Pan, the last of the reapers, doesn’t think she’s that bad. She hides among the arcanes as a ghost seer. She’s content, with being the one and only reaper, not to mention a secret, until she meets a special ghost. Updates Monday, Wednesday, Friday Revisions completed in April 2021

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)

The Blight
Ten years ago, the Blight appeared. A beautiful forest, where the leaves and animals glowed brilliantly at night. It became a wonder of the entire world, and people began venturing from across the continent to visit it. No one took it any more seriously than that, not in the beginning. Then the disappearances started. At first, it was just farm animals and pets. Then, hunters and travelers close to dusk. By the time children started disappearing from villages, it was too late to do anything. The Blight was spreading, from tree to tree like a sickness, crawling out in all directions. The animals and beasts inside it changed as well. They grew larger, stronger, and more ferocious than anything seen before. Simple farm animals became horrific monsters, distorted to disgusting proportions and violently spreading chaos out from the forest. When the first reports came in of infected animals dragging people alive off into the forest... then the real panic began. Towns fell to the Blight, then cities. Armies were sent to push it back, and were overrun. Heroes and legends ventured out, to no avail. Soon, it was public knowledge to all: Those who entered the forest, never returned. ...So what happens when a young boy comes out of the forest, carrying nothing but a dagger and remembering nothing but his own name?
