ancient times, talented MC, disabled (at first) ML

Li Mo, a modern day senior beautician, transmigrated and became a peasant woman sold to a countryside man. Looking at the crumbling thatched house, a husband with a disabled leg, and the bony little bun, Li Mo sighed and realized she must make a fortune.

PS: The protagonist has superb makeup and beauty techniques, no other Golden Finger, there will be no princes and generals, just ordinary everyday farming.

This is just okay for me. I was kinda expecting a rural countryside romance, farming, or other poor-to-rich schemes, but this one is not.

So our MC transmigrates into a woman who used to be a maid of a rich family. When her owner sold her, ML bought the original cos of pity. MC thinks ML is a good person so she decided to stay with him as his wife. ML already has a little son which quickly accepts MC as his new mother. ML has a disability cos he previously served as a soldier and got injured during the war.

Our MC lived in the village at first, she made money by becoming a make up artist for weddings for the bride. She also made balms from flowers and would sell them in town during festivals. After earning enough money, they bought a donkey cart for ML so he can earn money thru transporting goods and people to town. They also went to a doctor in the city for curing ML's legs (one of his legs is crippled/ML has a limp). Laters, MC partnered with a shop who sells cosmetics to become a makeup artist there.

Turning point is when one of MC's previous customers wanted MC to become her exclusive maid/make up artist and pretty much abducted her to take her to the Capital. ML was even beaten and MC was taken away and tortured to become more obedient. Fortunately, ML knows an influential person, someone he knew when he was a soldier. This person took back MC and made the magistrate family who kidnapped MC apologize and compensate them.

MC opens her own shop in town which is a beauty salon. She's got lots of customer etc. She sends the little kiddo at home to school. Laters, she becomes pregnant, gives birth to a daughter. Years later, the son has become a scholar, and the whole family moved to the Capital and opened a new shop there. Then son finds a wife, the daughter finds a husband, MC & ML travel around the world. The End.

Hmm... it's very mild. HAHAHA... I actually didn't like ML at first cos his family (mother/brothers etc) would always come to take advantage of their family and ML would let them. Like when MC bought meat for the little kiddo and ML's mother brought her nephews over to cheekily eat dinner with them and in the end, most of the meat went to other people's stomach. Also when there was an accident caused by one of ML's brothers, but the responsibility was pushed into their family to compensate the victims and ML allowed it again. I felt like our ML was very weak. Meh. Laters, ML finally separated from his shameless relatives and they lived their own life, and their days are getting better and better until they moved to town. I like that ML would act spoiled to MC though XD drunk ML was cute~~ And like all MLs. he is doting and considerate to his wife.

I guess, I kinda wanted to know ML's family's reactions, like if they're envious of MC & ML, things like that, so it will be more satisfying XD XD XD or it doesn't have to be ML's family, it could just be the neighbors in the village etc, a sort of 'mob POV'. Lololol. So it gives a better sense of how successful MC & ML have become, but na-da, it's really just their family life from MC's POV. Probably because of this but, ML isn't so...involved in MC's business. He is mentioned from time to time, picking up the kids at school, or managing the flowers/raw materials for making MC's balm. His presence is kinda weak (for me) ^^;

Like I said, this is a very mild novel.. no FARMING, not much faceslapping, I'm not too used to our MC being bullied (as per the synopsis, no princes or general) just poor-to-rich by setting up a beauty salon~ This has good reviews on NU, maybe its just not my cup of tea :3
