《One of Us (Hitachiin Twins)》One of Us 22

Haruhi woke up at seven o'clock sharp. There was no school again, because of some strange exotic holiday or something. It was time to get ready for a day out with Kaoru.
Just hearing the word 'date' brought butterflies to her stomach. Hikaru was the perfect host, and she felt something strange whenever she looked at him now. Hikaru had laid out her outfit this time. It was a knee-length white dress with a grey beenie and brown lace-up boots.
"Haruuhhiiii..." She heard Hikaru calling from outside of the door. Her stomach flipped.
"I'm up, what do you need?" She asked, trying to sound normal.
"Kaoru says that he doesn't want to go out." Hikaru groaned. "Please make him go."
Haruhi sighed. She had thought something like this might have happened.
"All three of us could go out together, if you want. I don't want to force him in to anything." She suggested, hoping he would agree. Fortunatley, he did.
Haruhi slid on the dress and boots, but she couldn't figure out how to get the beanie on. She decided to ask Kaoru to do it once she got downstairs.
"Hey guys," She said cheerfully. Kaoru smiled when he saw her.
"I love your outfit," He gushed, "do you need help with that?"
She nodded and let him place it on her head.
"Now you look perfect," Hikaru sang. Her heart started beating faster when she looked at him. But she tried not to show anything was wrong, so she smiled and agreed with him.
"Thanks," She said. Then she remembered something.
"Oh, guys! I forgot, there is something really important I needed to do today. Can I have a few hours by myself?" She asked, feeling bad about leaving them alone. They exchanged a curious look and then nodded.

"Be back before three," They said in unison, "We need to finish homework and junk like that,"
Haruhi nodded and gave them a fake grin. She was hoping they wouldn't let her leave. She wasn't looking forward to what she was about to do.
.
.
.
An hour later Haruhi was standing in front of the Suoh family main house. She needed to talk to Tamaki about how he had been treating the twins. She had thought about it last night and decided that if he apologized and came to his senses, then she wouldn't have to confess to the twins.
"T-Tamaki?" She called out, knocking on the door. She prayed inwardly that he would open the door, and not one of his servants or family members. Fortunatley, thats what happened.
"Haruhi! Please come in." He beckoned to the inside of his house. She was quite impressed by the size and design, but she liked the twins' house a lot better.
"Um, Tamaki," She coughed a little to clear her throat, "there was something I needed to talk to you about. I also need to confess something." She paused.
Tamaki nodded, a little less enthusiastic about her choice of words.
"I live with the Hitachiin twins. And I want you to stop ruining their lives." She called him out on it bluntly, so that she wouldn't have any other choice but to keep talking. Tamaki was shocked.
"But I checked there the other day, and--"
"The other day was a mistake. Now you and Kyouya are going to march around the school and treat me like I'm just another girl that they pushed away." Her voice was shaking a lot, but she had to keep going. "They're being treated like criminals. They were bullies when they were young, and I am not going to defend them for that, but this girl who wrote about them in her suicide note was downright sick and depressed. She was desperate for a reason to got through with it, and she created some kind of illusion for herself using the Hitachiin Brothers as the 'bad guys'. I would think you could realize it by now that it's not true, and you're only making everything worse." She was on the verge of yelling at him, but she knew that wasn't going to help anything. Instead, she tried harder to reason with him.

"I think that we can save them," She pleaded, "with your help I know that we can. Please, help me."
Tamaki was downright stunned at what she had said. His face was drained of all color and he was trying to process everything.
"You're wrong." He said softly. "You're wrong about them. They destroy everything they touch, and I've warned you about that, Haruhi, I have--"
"That's only because you made them that way!" She screamed, losing all of her patience. "If you learn to accept and include them then you'll realize how twisted you made them! The first time I set foot into their house I thought that Hikaru was going to kill me in my sleep, but now I can't get him out of my head! Oh, and without Kaoru noticing how sick I was I would probably be dead right now. They saved me, Tamaki. And if that doesn't get through your thick skull then I don't know what will."
He watched with horror as the brunette kept yelling at him. He needed to get her out of here.
"I think you should leave," He whispered, pointing to the door. Haruhi was taken aback, but gave him a look that could kill; and then walked outside, slamming the door closed.
.
.
.
Haruhi walked home and threw the door open.
"Guys, sorry about that. I'm back now." She called. She noticed that the twins weren't around the general areas of the house. Shrugging, she decided to go to her room.
The elevator ride was actually pretty creepy when she was taking it alone.
Her room door was closed, but she was able to unlock it using the card Kaoru had given her earlier that year. She instantly regretted doing that.
What she saw before her was something so horrifying it almost made her cry.
Staring at her was two bloodthirsty twins holding the notebooks she had stolen. Their eyes were ignited with rage, and Haruhi was too moritifed to even move.
"Oh, Haruhi," Hikaru hissed, almost too angry to speak, "care to explain why OUR journals were under YOUR bed?!"
Kaoru walked over to her, his entire body shaking and livid. He shoved the warning note Tamaki had given her into one hand and death glared up at her.
"A letter adressed to you from Tamaki Suoh?" He spat.
Dammit.
She was screwed.

This chapter was so short and I am very sorry about that. From now on you can expect shorter chapters from me. Anyway, this story is almost over. I will probably finish it up quickly, because I have other ideas for stories that I really want to get done.
