《One of Us (Hitachiin Twins)》One of Us 15

He slowly got out of the bed and tucked her under the covers before joining Kaoru in the bathroom again. He slipped into the small space between his brother and the bathtub and put his arm over his waist. As Hikaru lay down, he began to tell Kaoru exactly what happened since he had fallen asleep.
It was a responsibility he had as a twin. He couldn't leave him behind.

Hikaru and Haruhi woke up the next morning with the same bug Kaoru had. It was a pretty gross few hours, so Kaoru finally convinced Haruhi to skip school. She was really upset by that, because she didn't want to fall behind.
It was a very ugly scene. Three sick people sprawled out on the same bathroom floor, each holding a bucket and a thermometer. The twins were the most fortunate of the three, because they only really threw up twice each; but Haruhi held the record of five. Eventually after one shaky hour of peace, they decided to risk it and go downstairs to the couch.
"What do you want to watch?" Hikaru coughed. He picked up the remote. Kaoru shrugged and Haruhi just sat there staring at the ceiling. Hikaru flicked on the Tv and started channel surfing.
"Wait, what was that on the news?" Kaoru suddenly asked, pointing to the screen and motioning for him to go back a few channels. Hikaru scrolled back and stopped on the news section. The female announcer was talking about something.
"This morning, we have a special guest for all of you. Please welcome, Mrs. Yuzuha Hitachiin!" The announcer (who's name was Wendy) motioned to an empty doorway across the room. A beautiful woman with short hair walked through the door and out on stage, blowing kisses and waving at the live audience.

"That's mom!" The twins leaned forward, excited. Haruhi was intrigued as well. She often wondered what Hikaru and Kaoru's parents were like. From what Hikaru said last night about them traveling to get away from their only children scared her and gave her a twisted image, but this woman looked harmless-- maybe even nice.
Yuzuha took a seat on one of the plush chairs next to Wendy. She slung her handbag off of her shoulder and crossed her legs.
"Yuzuha, it's wonderful that you came to see us today. Thank you very much for that." Wendy gushed, reaching out a hand. Mrs. Hitachiin shook it and smiled brightly.
"Oh, it's an honor, really. As much as I hate to be away from home, these trips are always fun." She grinned again and leaned back in her chair.
"Now I have a few questions for you. Shall I begin?" Wendy asked, holding up a wad of what looked like game show cards. Yuzuha nodded frantically.
"Of course! I love questions."
Haruhi noticed that this lady was a spitting image of her sons. They had the same eyes and lovely facial structure.
"Alright! Question one. We know that you spend most of your time traveling around the world. Does this affect your life at home?" Wendy started fiddling with one of her earrings. Yuzuha frowned a little and concentrated.
"Well of course it does. I never see my boys at all except for the short periods of time when I come home. My husband is always with me, but I'm never really home unless my whole family is here." She said softly, causing the audience to go "aww".
"Tell us about your sons." Wendy asked.
Haruhi looked at the twins, who were totally absorbed in the show.

"Well I have twin boys named Hikaru and Kaoru. They're in high school." She answered, her face lighting up in a smile. She seemed so happy to talk about her children.
"Who's older? Are they identical?"
Yuzuha widened her eyes and made an over-exaggerated "well, duh!" Face.
"They're completely identical. It's super hard to tell them apart. Hikaru is older."
"Do you have a picture with you? We would love to see if they're as beautiful as you." Wendy complimented her.
"Aww, thank you. And yes, of course I have lots of pictures." She whipped out her phone and scrolled down until she found one she liked. The cameraman blew it up on the screen so that the whole audience could see it. Haruhi had to try her best not to drool.
The picture had been taken recently, so the twins had their normal spiky hair. They must have been doing some cosplay or something, because they were both decked out in outrageous outfits. You could see a bit of Hikaru's stomach, but not that much. It was so perfect that Haruhi just couldn't take it. She had to look away.
"Oh, my goodness!" Wendy cried. "They're gorgeous!"
"Thanks. I know. I love modeling them, although they never let me use the pictures in published work." Yuzuha smiled bashfully, gazing at her sons through her phone.
"Can I have their numbers?!" A girl in the audience cried, triggering yet another chorus of laughter.
"Hah, nope! Right now, all I want to do is see them." She sighed. Wendy began asking her more questions about her work, and when all was said and done, Yuzuha waved again and exited the room.
"Wow." Haruhi finally broke the silence.
"Yeah, she's amazing, huh?" They said in unison. Haruhi looked up at Hikaru with a confused look. Just last night he was saying the opposite.
"Sometimes I say things when I'm upset. Things that I don't mean." He replied, reading her face. Kaoru looked between them knowingly and smiled cheekily.
"Why don't you let her publish you?" Haruhi blurted, throwing her arms up. After she did that she immediately sunk back down in her seat, clutching her bucket to her chest. Not a good idea when you could throw up at any moment.
"Because people would think we're full of it." Kaoru said, scratching his head. Hikaru nodded.
"They'd just give us more trouble at school every day. It gets tough most of the time. Hell, yesterday I started crying in public. That equals probably two years of trash talking more than we deserve."
Haruhi started yelling again, exasperated.
"You don't deserve any of it!"
Kaoru laughed and Hikaru looked at her, filled with amusement. She didn't get their private joke, but decided to move on.
"So do you want to play a game?" The twins asked.
Haruhi nodded.
"What game?"
The twins exchanged a mischievous glance and smirked.
"What about the which one is Hikaru game?"
