Arsalan
My cousins persistence had gotten the better of me.
Kneeling down on one knee, I brought my hand up that held a half bloom red rose that Ahya had passed to me. Glancing up at the woman before me, I remained stunned.Large grey orbs looked shyly at me as the long lashes teased the soft skin of her under eyes.
Dressed in a dull golden dress she looked like a fairy fallen from the sky.To guide the lost home.To guide the travellers home.To guide me home. The velvety black dupatta remained draped around her shoulders complimenting her fair skin tone, only pulling my heart's strings.
Lost at words, I remained speechless in a daze.
Clearing of throats sounded in the background making me crash back to the reality.Looking at the red rose in my hand, I glanced at my wife.
" Amal will you marry me?"I asked.
The smile that once adorned her lips slid off as she looked at someone behind me.A flash of unbelievingly passing through her face.
" What?"Salah almost choked out.
" Propose her like you really mean it, stupid."He added.
Glaring at the man, I narrowed my eyes.Imraan chuckled out shaking his head.Coming by my side as leaned down before whispering.
" Say something very nice and confessing.Imagine that you both are not married and you are asking her to marry you."He whispered.
Moving away, my cousin joined the squad behind us.Looking at Amal, I smiled sheepishly. She only gave me a tight smile, shifting her weight on her feet.
Sighing in deeply, I started saying. And the words just flew out straight from the depth of my red heart.Confessing all I wanted to say to her.
" Amal, people say that the loved ones are the light in the darkness but I believe that you are the light in my brightness. The light I always wanted. That I craved.Even if everything is lightened around me, I would still always want your light. You are the hope in my life. And I swear, I would give my life away only to see that smile on your face-"I couldn't complete as the woman placed her palm on my mouth.
Her eyebrows knotting together and eyes widening. With parted lips, she shook her head.Removing her palm, I held her hand in my larger one.
" I swear, I would do anything to keep you happy. You are the reason I want to live.Everyday-I want each day of my life to be spent with you. Each second and each breath of mine is given away on your name. And most importantly, I want to grow old with you.I want to have grey hair with you by my side.Because you have me trapped and I am on this step of life that I can't back off now."Tears floated in the woman's eyes as she looked down at me.
" So, Amal Arsalan Khan would you make me the happiest man on the planet by marrying me?"I asked waiting for her to already say yes.
My sister and cousins chanted in the background, say yes, say yes.
Blinking away the tears she nodded her head.
" Yes Arsalan Khan I would marry you."She said softly taking the rose from my hand.Grinning at her, I stood up to my full height.Towering over her figure, I pecked her forehead making the women behind us gush.Amal blushed playing with the thin resistance.I could just kiss the living day lights out of her.

Pulling her closer and wrapping my arm around her waist, I smirked at my grinning cousins.
Later we settled for a selfie. As Salah snapped a group selfie, I turned to my wife seeing her smile beautifully at me.
Haseen
Pulling Amal up the stairs, I turned the corner as we silently walked down the hallway.Stopping before my old bedroom door, I glanced her way seeing the woman smile softly at me.Pushing open the door, I lead her inside.
The familiar memories floated in.Making me smile sadly.Walking over to the window, I slid the curtains to the side before pushing open the window allowing the warm air to escape inside.
Folding my arms, I leaned against the window.
" The first time I saw you in the school, that night I couldn't stop thinking of you.Right here on this same spot, I lay thinking of you."I pointed to the right side of the bed as the woman stood by my wooden desk.
Pushing the soft strands of her wavy hair back, she flickered her gaze at me.
Taking a step towards her, I felt the woman stiffen as she audibly gulped down her throat.Walking over to where she stood, I pulled her towards me.An unexpected oomph left her lips as her soft body collided against my hard rigid one.Her hands settled on my shoulders.
Leaning towards her neck, I kissed her soft hair.Nuzzling my face in the crook of neck, I tightened my arms around her.Amal breathed out heavily-
" Arsalan-"Moving away from the woman, I glared at the door as Hira knocked on the door.Frustatedly running my hand through my hair, I answered allowing my sister to barge in.
Smiling at us, Hira walked to the bed and kept an extra pillow.
" Amal sleep well, okay. And Arsalan your bags are already shifted in the room downstairs."She said with a stupid smile on her face.
Raising an eyebrow at her,I said.
" We are very comfortable in this room and I can see everything is fine with my room so we are staying here.I don't want us to stay in the room downstairs."
Hira shook her head making me pass a blank look her way.Folding her arms against her chest, she sassed.
" No hon.Only Amal is staying here you are staying in the room downstairs."
" What?"I shouted out.
Making a pitiful face my way my sister sighed dramatically.
" Did you forget, you two are to get married. So no sharing of rooms before marriage- Daadi Ma's orders. So until the wedding you two will have to sleep in separate rooms."
What the-
" I am not playing this dirty game.Amal and I are already married and I don't want any marriage.I am going to talk to Daadi Ma this instant."I stomped my feet.
Hira shook her head and turned on her heels.
" Downstairs-your room. And for the last part, you wish."She walked out closing the door behind her.
Growling in the deep of my throat, I clenched my fists angrily.Just as I took a step towards the door, a wrist halted my steps.
Breathing out, I stared at the woman as she stepped before me.With soft grey eyes she glanced at me.
" Its okay. Its just for a few days."Amal spoke softly.
" But-"Two arms encircled around me, halting and leaving me speechless.Embracing me, the woman lay her head on my shoulder. Her scent filled my nostrils.Wrapping my arms around her, I made her melt against my body.

" Arsalan-"The woman whispered out sighing.Tightening her arms around my neck she hid her face in the crook.Kissing the soft skin of her neck, I felt the dupatta slip past her shoulders.
Her heavy breaths hit my skin warmly. Her own skin flushing hot against mine.I felt myself drifting away slowly.
" Please go-"She whispered.
Her hands loosened around mine and she moved away from me.
" Good night."She whispered softly.
My heart thudded against my ribcage.Moving towards her again, I pecked her forehead passionately.
" Good night."Flushing again she smiled and sat on the bed.
Urghh
Opening the bedroom door, I walked out.I don't want to follow the stupid rule.
Maybe I was going to spend the night counting the days till the wedding.

Amal
I laughed again as Zarah cracked another joke.Running my hand over the embroidered maroon blouse, I smiled.
The family had accepted me with open arms and so had happiness.I felt like a princess as everyone pampered me.Zarah and the young women had become all my sisters that I never had.I already loved them all like Marwa.
And right now, the main hall was buzzed with women as Aunty Neelum had called a designer for the wedding dresses.Colors, embroidery and fabrics were all scattered around the sofas as we looked for our best choice.
All types of fancy clothing material was spread before us as Ammi looked for bridal dresses and other dresses for the functions they all had planned.
Standing up from the sofa, I turned to go to the kitchen feeling thirsty.Walking out from the hall, as I passed the hallway, my eyes caught my reflection in the window.Making me stop in my tracks.
Before me was a woman I couldn't recognize. She looked confident and mature.Mature enough to walk with her head high and her decisions sorted.Subconsiously, I ran my hand over the gold cuff earrings my ears were adorned with.My ear shells were hidden with the golden cuffs that were stoned with beautiful stones and jewels. The intricate designing adding more to the jewellery.A matching ring also remained in my finger.
My hair were parted from the middle and my long black hair were in a braid. The sun rays penetrating through the window making my orbs look a shade lighter as the black kohl filled my eyes.
A smiled curved my lips upwards as I entered the kitchen. My husband and I were planned to get married on our wedding anniversary. The real date when I officially stepped into his life leaving all of myself behind. And how my life had transformed after that.
The festivities were to start from tomorrow. And an overwhelming feeling had bubbled all inside me.
Later, the day passed by very quickly with everyone rushing around.Preparations being done and caterers being called. The wedding was planned to take place in the mansion itself with only the close relatives attending.
I couldn't sleep.
Turning around on the bed again, I faced the white plain ceiling.A sigh left my lips in frustration.Tinglings crawling up my toes.
Sitting up on the bed, I turned to the closed door. All day I had not once caught a glimpse of my husband. He was busy getting his clothes and shopping with his cousins.
Standing up from the bed, I wore my slippers.Draping the shawl over my shoulders I decided to get some fresh air.Tip toeing out of the bedroom and down the stairs, I found the dim lights illuminating the hallways only.Darkness only covering the house.
Roaming my eyes around the house, I felt myself afraid suddenly.
Bad decision, Amal
My mind mocked rudely. The large window overlooking the garden attracted me as I pressed my nose against the glass.
Uff
" Couldn't sleep?"A deep voice asked almost giving me a mini heart attack.Placing my palm over my chest where my heart raced, I turned to look at the figure that sat on the cream sofa in the main hall just half way across me.Regaining my breath, I squinted my eyes seeing my husband sit there smugly with his arms folded across his chest.
His eyes staring right at me in the darkness holding me captive.
" You scared me."I breathed out.
Taking steps towards him, I ran my eyes down his figure.Clad in a grey t-shirt the man had his arms crossed across his chest, his muscular arms on display.A pillow was placed on the arm rest of the sofa with a thin blanket curled in a ball besides the man.
Standing before him, I frowned.
" You are sleeping here?"I asked utterly confused.
In response, the man sighed dramatically before laying down ob the sofa and folding his arms behind his head.
" What can a man do when he has been thrown out of his own room so that his wife can rest peacefully."His charcoal orbs flickered towards me before he turned his eyes.
Narrowing my eyes, I placed my hands on my waist.Arsalan's accusation making me glare at him.
" I never threw you out."I stated still glaring at him.
The man turned to look at me hardly making me shift my weight on my feet.
" You couldn't sleep as well?"I asked a little softly this time.
A spark flashed through his eyes as he smirked.Pulling at my arms, he brought me down besides himself. My body laying on the sofa as he hovered over me.
" I think we can change that statement now."He grinned at me winking.
Pressing my palms against his chest, I tried to push him away.
" Leave me, someone will see."I whispered feeling afraid that anyone could walk in anytime. But the stubborn man had other plans.
" So what? You are my wife legally and religiously."He stated kissing my forehead.
Feeling exhausted to fight against the man, I sighed.A yawn escaped my lips as I turned to the side making space on the sofa so we both could fix in.The man shifted, settling behind me and draping the blanket over us.Arsalan placed his face against my shoulder making a bag of butterflies to let loose in the pit of stomach.
" I missed you today."I confessed truthfully.The man hummed.
" Waah janab- aapki biwi aapko yaad bhe karte hn."The man muttered to himself.
I smiled muffling my laughter.
We talked most of the night although I we were sleepy but our we were sharing such a precious moment that none of us wanted to sleep.
Curling against him, I felt safe in the cocoon of my husband's arms.
