《Black hearts meet Red》Chapter 48

The days passed one by one.The dates changing, each one bringing their own stories but the man remained oblivious to it.His work became everything for him since the past week.It seemed as if he didn't get time to work all of it in the office and so he bought more work home too.

It wasn't that I said anything but since the past week he was actually proving himself to be workaholic. The extinct was that when I would wake up in the morning he would be rushing out of the house, and I would have to wait till nine in the night till he was back. After dinner, his office would be his palace as he would drown himself in work.

It was only last night that we watched a program on television together. It was a documentary of the tourism spots in the northern areas of Pakistan. My eyes had teared up and Arsalan had turned to me.His face had turning into a frown,

"Why are you crying?"He had asked making me sniff.

"I miss home."I had said missing everything of my home town.

"Oh Amal."He had huffed.

The sound echoed across the silent apartment as I placed the plate angrily in the cabinet. My eyes moving to glance at the clock.

10:30 Pm

He was still not home although it was Saturday.Feeling dejected, I placed the dinner in the fridge.Fine, two can play the same game.A voice in my head kept telling me to call him but the very angry side of me throw the other idea out of the window.

Sitting on the dining table chairs, I wondered over how the weather had changed this week.It hadn't rained or snowed and tonight the weather was very moderate.

The main door opened in a hurry and I averted my gaze immediately.Knowing well who it was, I stood up to go inside the bedroom. But before I could even take a second step a hand caught my arm.

" I am sorry."A deep voice whispered near my ear.A flutter to my heart before my heart beats were racing.I turned around coming face to face with my husband. His tall figure towering over me.His face apologetic as he smiled sheepishly.

His simple words and his attitude that he knew I was angry was enough for me to smile at him.

"Din-"My words died as he placed his hand on my lips.

" Not now.Come with me."He said taking my hand in his.

" Wait, my clothes-"I trialed off as we walked to the door.

" Oh, you look great."He said looking over at me.

Stepping out of the elevator, the man pulled me to the back of the building as I frowned.

The car was always parked at the front.

" I have a surprise for you."Arsalan said as if answering all the questions in my head.

" Okay."I managed to say with my heavy breaths.

Leaving my hand, the man moved forward towards a-A BIKE.My eyes grew large as he sat on it as smirked.Wiggling his eyebrows at me he left me confused.

" This is your surprise?"I asked pointing to the motor bike.

" Oh no.This is my babe.Babe meet my ba- wife."He introduced.I took a step forward. With nervousness wrecking through my skin I said,

" I've never ridden a bike before."I expressed.Seeing the man smirk.A bad boy's bike with a bad boy on it.The black bike seemed like the type a typical bad boy would have and with the man dressed in a black leather jacket with dark pants, his hair all messy and falling over his head, the combination looked perfect.

" Don't worry, I won't let you fall."He chuckled.Trusting his words, I got over the fear before climbing behind as he guided. When the engine came to life, I tightened my hold around his waist.

Soon enough we were riding on the busy roads of London. The dark night's wind hitting my face. The man seemed very confident of his actions while I wasn't that confident.I didn't ask where we were headed as it would distract him.But the roads looked unknown to me, somewhere I've never been to.

Turning around the corner, the traffic seemed to lessen.Cars barely on the road now.London was a very big city and its night life never died. The houses and building passed by us.The speed slowed down indicating we were near our destination.

The anticipation knotted in my stomach.Turning another corner, we rode through a narrow street before coming before a clearing and-

The man parked the bike in the side where other cars and bikes were also parked. In a daze, I got down the bike not knowing what I saw was true or not.Arsalan came to stand besides me as I observed around.

Apartments and buildings lined around us with this area or clearing decorated with fairy lights and lamps.People of all ages walked around the stalls.Man and woman mostly in shalwar kameez as they enjoyed themselves. On one side, food stalls were lined.Gol gappy and traditional pakistani food being served.I could hear the light Pakistani music being played in the background.

Women sat waiting for their turns to get their henna done. Some bought bangles while some tried different jewellery items on.My heart filled up as I turned my gaze to the man's who looked down at me.A glint in his eyes that I couldn't decipher.

Turning my eyes back to the small fair, I thought as if I was back in Pakistan and it was the fair before Eid.A vivid memory playing in my mind.Taking Arsalan's hand in my hand, I took the first step towards the ultimate happiness.I felt immense happiness as I walked where everyone else was.

" Its the muslim community."The man informed as we walked.I smiled only.

The smell of freshly made jaleebis and samosas wafted passed my nose making me realize how hungry I was.My grey orbs landed on the gol goppas as my mouth watered.

Oh No.

" Can we have Gol gappy?"I asked the man already walking to the stall.

He chuckled following behind me.

" You can have anything you want."He stated ordering a plate of the delicious goodies. When the plate came before me with the sweet and sour serving, I couldn't resist as I stuffed my mouth with one.My cheeks filling up as I chewed it.

Oh God.

It had been years since I last tasted them.Completly forgetting about the man, I ate almost half of the plate when I looked up at him.His eyes trained on me as I put another gol gappa in my mouth. He chuckled when I offered him the plate.

" No, should I order more."He asked shaking his head.

" No."I said turning my eyes to the stall that served kebabs.Arsalan paid for the plate as I placed my hand over his hand and tried to get his attention.

" Lets go over there."I said like a little girl.

" Okay okay."The man said before walking with me.The place wasn't crowded much, giving the easy access to walk around without colliding with anyone.

" What do you want?"My husband asked me as we stood before the stall.Chicken Tikka, kebabs, grill chicken, chicken rolls. They had it all making my mouth water with just the aroma of the food.

" Um-Kebabs with onions and sliced lemons."I said. The smoke because of the barbeque balanced the coldness of the night.

I looked over to the children that ran around, playing around without a worry in this world.A smile forming on my lips.

" Here."Arsalan said distracting me.Giving the plate to me, he took a step back.

" Aren't you gonna eat?"I asked.

" Nah, I don't really-"Before he could complete I fed him with my own hands catching him off guard.

Stunted he remained frozen before chewing.I smiled proudly. After a few minutes, the man suggested that we sit down.So on the wooden bench we sat and ate.Arsalan didn't mind as I ordered for anythings.

Half an hour later,I had tasted Grill chicken, Samosas, pakoras, spring rolls, warm jalebis and gulaab jamuns.

The man only shook his head and smiled while I ate.Wiping my hands with the wipes, I saw the glass bangles.

But before I could even say, the man was pulling me up and he stood up.His hand curling around mine as he walked us over to the jewellery section.

Colours and colours.Everywhere were colours.Bangles in all sizes and colours were lined.I remained in a daze as my husband picked up the red ones before making me wear them. His touch soft on my hand as he carefully helped me wear the bangles.

I smiled at the right size.Moving my wrist, the bangles dancing.Their sound music to my ears.

" You like them?"My husband asked looking at me.

" Yes."I said making him grin.

" Good.Take as much as you want."He said moving behind me.My eyes widened as he smirked.

" Really?"He only nodded.

Picking a set of silver, black, and golden ones, I asked my husband if he liked them. And when Arsalan nodded I bought them.

The red bangles remained in my hand, matching with the red dupatta I wore.My hand automatically went into his.A spark sharing between us.As our gazes collided.

Under the dark sky with the stars shining down at us, I smiled at him with all my heart.People moved around us but we stilled. He turned to me, his hand reaching forward as he brushed a wavy tendrils of my dark hair behind my ear.

And something just told me,

This night wasn't over just yet.
