" Am not giving money to a criminal" Jessica yells at me. Jessica, Jeb, Adam, Sky, and I are trying to get through a game of monopoly. " That's not how you play!" I yell back at her. " Jessica you step on his property you own him 200 dollars." Jeb tries to tell her. Jessica is very much a sore loser, so there's no later to get past her.

It's New Year Eve today. The local supernatural group comes together every New year eve and throw a party. That's where we are going today. It's always at someone's house. This year it's sadly at the Cohen's house. The house of my ex-boyfriend. This will be just great. Well, at least there have a nice indoor got tube we can all use.

"Okay, you guys we have to get going" my mom yells from the kitchen. As she comes walking out with what looks to be five plates of food. Adam and I both go to help her. " Mom, why do you need so much food? It's not like your feeding an Ogre tribe." I tell her as we all laugh at this. " It feels like it with this family." She adds on to my conversation. She's right though, we have six family members. Plus two Wolves, two Dragons, one wizard, and then me who are all three of them. But before I could get into a comeback war with my mom, my grandfather walks into the living room with my dad and there both seem upset.

" What is it?" Sky asks them. When she says this my dad and grandfather wipe it off their faces. "Nothing. Where's Alex?" My dad says as he sounds very suspicious. "He's upstairs," Sky says as she gets up from sitting down so long. " Whys is he always by himself." My dad says to himself but I can still hear him. But my dad is right. Alex is always so separate from my family. Plus at school, it's worse. He doesn't have many friends and he's always getting in a fight. I've tried to help him but he doesn't want my help. " Alex we are about to Leave" Adam yell like a crazy person. We have yell loud because Alex usually has his headphones in.

" Well, everyone picks a car to ride in between me and mom." My dad says. " Mom" Everyone in the room says really fast at the same time. My dad is not the best driver. " Rude," he says as he opens the front door. I rush over to my mom's car with the plates of food in my hands. " Dibs" I yell as I touch the car. There are only three seats available in my mom's car. Then Jessica comes running out of the house Jeb following her close by. Right behind them is Adam. " We made it" Jessica yells as there hit the car. We have a rule in the family first one to touch the car gets to be in the car.

" No fair" Adam says as he starts to walk over to Dad's car. Sky and Alex followed suit after him. " Dame why am I stuck with dad," Alex says as he puts his hoodie on. It's still winter here in Washington state, so it's freezing cold. " Just get in the car," Sky says as she walks across the lawn. I look around to see that dad, mom, and grandpa is not out here yet. " Where's dad and them?" I ask Sky. " They're talking about something. there said they will be out here in a minute." Sky says as she opens Dad's car door. What could there be talking about?

This makes me smile really hard. I forgot that in Australia there are almost a day ahead. So it's already changed to 2020. Wait did he say cutie. He's never said that before to me. Cutie? I can get along with that. We have been talking a lot again though out the break. We both got over the whole Christmas dance fight.

" Let me guess Mark," Jessica says as we hear the car beep. We all open and get in the car and start it. It's so cold out here. " Maybe," I say as I text back Mark.

" You two are really cute," Jeb says as he sits next to Jessica in the back seat. " Well we don't have a label, so don't start to assume stuff. " I tell them. " You two are basically dating," Jessica says with a huge smile. " My ship is sailing" She yells and this makes us all laugh. " Well what about you and Lucas," I ask Jeb. I know the last thing I know is that there broke up. " Am not sure because he wants to talk to me when I get back to school. " Jeb says. " Well, are you?" Jessica asks. " Am not sure yet" He says as he looks down

I look down its text from Jonah? I thought it would have been from Mark.

This is the first time he texts me since the break has started.

When we get to Nick's house. I remember that I haven't been here since I caught him cheating on me with Rick. It took me a while until I was really able to get over that moment.

My mom unlocks all of the doors to the car. " Let get our party on," she says jokingly as she gets out of the car holding a plate of food. we followed after to go inside. " Ms, Dean where's everyone else at," Jeb asks as we look around. Where are my dad and the rest of them? " He told me before we left he was going stop for gas." My mom says as she knocks on the door.

Ms. Ramirez opens the door for us. " Hey Stacy, come on in," she says to my mom. " Hello Tracy," My mom says back to her. My mom doesn't like Ms. Ramirez that much but this is where the party is going to be at this year. My mom doesn't like her because of what Nick did.

We walk inside the house to see that it's is completely full of people. I can recognize a couple of people but not many. It's been a while since I have seen anyone outside of the school. " Well most of the kids and teens are at the inside hot tube," Ms. Ramirez tells us as she points outside. You can tell she feels a little awkward. I haven't really seen her since this past summer when I found out Nick was cheating on me. " A hot tube, yay," Jessica says as she opens the siding down to the inside pool. The inside pool is just a really with a huge hot tube as well. With a small section that is not a hot tube. Nicks's family has lots of money so that how there can afford this. There's more

" I can't wait for some hot water. It's to God dame cold here" Jessica tells me as she put her bag by a table. The hot tube/pool is in a huge a closed building with windows that look out to his huge backyard covered in snow. You got to love Washington State. " Same," I tell her as Jeb says " Me too " at the same time as all three of us laugh.

" Thomas" I hear as I stop putting my bag down on the ground. I know whose voice that is. I turn around to see Nick in the hot tube sitting next to Rick holding hands. Next to them are some other people that I don't recognize. Nick turns his head to Jessica " Hey Jessica" Nick tells her with a smirk. He knows that Jessica hates him with a burning passion. " Fuck you," She tells him as she gives him a smirk back. " Well you guys coming in?" Rick asks as he comes close to the wall to talk to us. " We are getting in," Sky says as she points at Adam, Alex, and herself. Then I go to answer his questions as I and Jessica speak at the same time. "No," I say as Jessica says " Yes". We both look at each other with the funny look best friends give each other. That like I hate you but I love you too much to hate you.

Just what I wanted to do today. Get in a hot tube with my ex and his boyfriend. I take off my clothes just to show my swimsuit. You can see my six-pack. I work out but not as much as other people. Compare to say Jonah who has a six-pack and you can see them clearly. You can kinda see my six-pack but not too much.

Before I knew it everyone is was getting into the hot tube. Just leaving me standing on the outside of the pool. Look back at everyone to see everyone looking at me. I can only assume to get in the pool. I really don't want to get but I don't want to seem like am still hurt by Nick. Even though I am over him it's hard to get over the fact that the person I first love could break my heart. But hanging out with my new friends has helped me out a lot.

I decided to slowly put my body into the water and sit next to Jessica and Jeb. Which there are sitting as far away from Nick as possible. I believe that Jeb hasn't never really meet Nick before. Before anyone can say anything Rick starts making conversation. " Well, how're your guys break been?" He says as he leans closer to Nick. This is going to be a long night.

It's almost midnight now. The hot tube wasn't too bad. Ms. Ramirez called both Nick and Rick out of the hot tube to help with something like 5 minutes in, so that helped me a lot.

Everybody is getting ready for the new year. " Whoa, let's go" I hear Adam say to everyone. What more people showed that are around our age. So now there's a bigger group of teens. " Come on guys, let's go to the backyard." My dad shouts at everyone in the house that is still left. They're about to shoot off fireworks in the backyard when it turns midnight.

I look around to see everyone going into the backyard. But I don't see Jeb. " Come on Thomas, let's go," Jessica says to me as I am still looking around for Jeb. She has a drink in her left hand. " Have you seen Jeb around?" I ask her as I still looking around for him. " I saw him in the hallway on the phone." She says as she points over to the hallway. " Thanks," I tell her as I walk over to the hallway. " Don't be too late" She says as she takes a sip of her drink.

I walk into the hallway to see Jeb on the phone. When Jeb sees me he nods his head up as if to tell me to give me a minute. He seems a bit upset. I wonder who he is talking to. Oh wait, it's probably his parents or it could be Lucas.

Then he hangs up the phone and tries to fake a smile. " Hey," He says to me as he puts his phone away. " Was it your parents?" I ask him. " Yeah my dad, he wanted to see if I was okay," He tells me as he leans his body against the wall. Oh, I wonder how that went. I hope he is okay now. I wonder if his dad apologizes for what happened. " Is everything okay?" I ask him. " Yeah, he just wants to tell me a happy new year." He says to me as he tries to smile again. I guess he must be fine then.

" You ready to see fireworks," I ask him as I go to step out of the hallway. " Wait," He says to me as I stop from leaving. " Hey, I just want to thank you for everything you have done for me. It means a lot to me" He says to me with a smile. This makes me feel warm inside. This is why I always want to help my friends and treat them well." Of course, you know am always here for you. So if you ever want to talk am here for you." I tell him as I can still feel a warm feeling.

" Yep," we both say at the same time. Before start to laugh at this. I can tell he has a good time with me, Jessica, and my whole family even my grandfather. " Lucas text me," He says to me with a smile still. " Oh, what did he say?" I ask him. " He wants to talk about what happened at the dance," he tells me. " What did you say?" I ask him as I hope he doesn't say he dropped him. I know how much Lucas loves Jeb. " I said we can talk about it when we get to school," He says with a smile. That smile let me know that Jeb still wants to be with Lucas.

"That's good," I tell him as we stand there in silence. " You know, at the beginning of the school year, I had a crush on you," I tell Jeb with a smirk. I honestly don't know why I said that. It felt like the moment to say that. " Ha, I had a crush on you too." He says as we both laugh. It's nice to have this conversation to know that we are still friends even though we admit that we like each other.

" That sounds like fireworks," Jeb says as we start to walk out of the hallway to the back door. When we get closer to the door we can hear everyone cheering and yelling. We open the door to see the beautiful fireworks.

" Whoa," Jeb says as he looks up. It's really hard to think or say anything because everyone is shouting and kissing for the New year. I look around at everyone. It's nice to see different supernatural people getting along and having fun. Also, it's nice not to be separated from the other supernatural community. Before I know it a feel a warm lip on my check. I turn around fast to see Jeb. " Happy New year," I tell him. " Happy New year," Jeb says back to me with a smile. This should be a good year.
