When I wake up my body aches more than it should. I notice my side hasn't completely healed which confuses me even more. I'm supposed to be the Alpha of all Alphas and I can't even heal properly.

I'm so confused. I look around the room I'm in and notice it's a Doctors ward. They must have carried me back to the Cabellos hospital ward.

Soon enough a man in a white lab coat enters the room with a chart in his hand.

"It's good to see you awake Alpha." He says bowing to me as I try to sit up in bed.

"Doctor why haven't I healed yet?" I ask looking at my side as I remove the bandage to see blood and what looks like infection.

"I believe the wolf that attacked you injected some type of poison into your wounds when he cut you open. He probably painted his nails with it." The Doctor says making me nod understanding.

"The amount of poison in your veins would have killed a normal wolf. But since you are the Alpha of all Alphas it didn't affect you that severely." He says making me nod.

"Doc, how many casualties were their?" I ask and he looks down before meeting my eyes. He adjusts his glasses before speaking.

"There was a total of 10 casualties. Due to the toxic poison. At first we couldn't figure out why they were dying from scratch marks. But we figured it out and were able to stop the rest." He says and I sigh knowing that some mates were lost today.

"Thank you Doc. Can you tell me how my mate is doing?" I ask worried of her well-being.

"She is doing fine. Her heat is really bad and at midnight it will be at its peak, considering the full moon." He says making my growl knowing I want to claim her.

"You should be healed within the next hour Alpha. I will have you up and healthy for the ceremony." He says bowing his head in respect.

"Thank you." I say and he leaves the room after giving me my last dose of medication.

I feel the pain leave my side and I can feel the wound start to heal. I mind link Cameron and he comes into my room within 10 minutes.

"Y/N, your awake!" He says with a smile and I nod and motion my best friend to take a seat next to me.

"I need you to tell me how many people we lost." I say and I see him shake his head.

"None of the casualties came from our pack. The Cabellos and Hansen pack is who took the losses." He says and now I feel even worse.

"Could you get Alpha Alejandro for me? I need to discuss some things with him." I say and he nods standing to his feet. He then goes to find my mates father as I think about what I should do to help these packs that are suffering.

Soon enough Alpha Alejandro enters my room and bows his head in respect. I motion for him to have a seat because we have a lot to discuss.

"Alpha Alejandro, I first want to apologize for the losses you took in this war." I say and he nods his head in thanks.

"I also want to apologize for any damage I may have caused to your buildings or guards when I went on a rampage looking for Camila." I say and he dismisses it with a wave of his hand.

"I was once a young wolf Y/N. I know that you really have no control when your mate goes into heat. That's why I created that locked up room. For times like this to be exact." He says and I nod my head understanding.

"And for my guards, they obviously need better training." He says making us both laugh.

"Alpha Alejandro, with your blessing I would like to compete the ceremony tonight at midnight. My wound is healed and the Doctor said Camilas heat with be at its peak." I say and the man rests his hand on his chin in deep thought.

"I know things are happening fast, but I'm afraid if we don't do it tonight I'll do it before we're married and she does not deserve the dishonor that brings." I say making his eyes meet my own.

"I promise I will take care of her sir. You won't have to worry about her safety or happiness because I will provide those for her." I say making him let out a sigh and clasp his hands together.

"Okay. Tonight the ceremony will take place. I need to talk to my Luna about all of this so we can make the preparations." He says making me smile widely at his decision.

"Sir, I also wanted to talk to you about the future of your pack. Since you don't have any sons to carry it on, I was wanting to know if your pack would like to join mine?" I ask catching him off guard.

"Our territory's will become one large one. I know your not getting any younger and I've had a feeling this has been weighing on your mind." I say making his eyes meet my own.

"If you need to talk to your Luna about this as well I understand." I say and he nods his head standing from his seat. He approaches me and holds his hand out and I shake it with respect.

"We will make the preparations. Get yourself ready Alpha Y/N." He says and leaves the room.

I place my feet on the ground beside my hospital bed and I feel my side is fully healed. I disconnect the wires that are monitoring me and look for some clothes to put on. I pull off my hospital gown and spot some clothes.

I find some boxers and a sports bra and I pull them both on. I find a pair of shorts and a t-shirt and throw them on as well. The doctor comes back into the room and noticed that I'm ready to leave.

"Just let me take one last look so I can officially clear you." He says and I have a seat lifting my shirt. He checks the wound then checks my lungs and heart.

"Your good to go Alpha." He says and I stand up. But before I go I have a question to ask him.

"Doctor, what are the chances of getting my mate pregnant when we complete the bond tonight?" I ask looking into his eyes.

"Well she will be at her peak. I don't want to step over any boundaries but I need to ask you a question Alpha. You've never been with anyone have you?" He asks and I let out a low growl making him bow his head.

"No. I was saving myself for my mate." I say clenching my jaw and he lifts his head after cowering from my power.

"Your chances are very high then." He says and I nod my head in thanks.

"Thank you Doctor." I say and leave the room. I decide to go talk to Alpha Hansen to express her my apologies.

I walk across the Cabellos territory and I pass other wolves who nod their heads in respect. I get to the house that holds the Hansen pack and enter. I find Alpha Hansen sitting in the living room with her Luna Ally.

I approach and bow my head in respect. They do the same and offer me a seat.

"Alpha Dinah and Luna Ally, I want to give you my condolences for the losses you faced in this war. Your alliance and friendship will not go unnoticed by me and my pack." I say and the two nod their heads in thanks.

"My pack will forever be grateful to yours for helping save my mate. If you ever need anything, and I mean anything, please ask." Dinah gives me a small smile before standing up. I stand up with her and we shake hands before bro hugging.

"Tonight, the ceremony is going to take place. I would be honored if you and your Luna were in our presence." I say and Ally smiles softly at me.

"We wouldn't miss it." Ally says wrapping her arms around Dinah's waist.

"I'll send one of my people when I know more details." I say backing away and leaving the room. I decide to head back to my room that I was staying in.

When I entered the house I noticed Harley standing off to the side.

"Tonight's the big night huh?" She says wiggling her eyebrows at me. I shake my head at her as I pass by going upstairs to my room.

Once I'm in my room I go to my bag and find the one thing I never leave home without. I open the small box and smile sadly at the sight. My mother's wedding ring rests in the box and shines brightly.

Most wolves who are mates and married don't do the whole ring thing. But I don't want to be like everyone else. I want to give Camila everything and more when it comes to our lives together.

I feel a weight on my chest knowing my mother never got to meet my mate. And knowing she won't be here tonight to see us complete the bond hurts just as much.

I close the box and kiss the lid as my eyes flutter shut.

I just hope she'll be here in spirit.
