《You Broke Me First》Ch. 33- First Hero Mission

Aizawa's POV
Another crappy patrol on an even crappier rainy night. My feet are freezing and I have to keep watch over Shinso. My dumb tired self agreed to take him along for patrol as a training exercise. He has taken the problem child's spot in class so I'm helping him catch up to the rest of the class. I didn't want to replace Izuku but Shinso is a good kid and he needed a chance to grow and become a better hero.
Hopping building to building with him only helped me realize how much a love my kids. Izuku was the first kid to help me notice that there is a part of me wanting to be in all of my student's lives. Then with him gone, it feels almost as if a mother losing their child.
I haven't seen him since that day the league kidnapped the number one hero. And the last time I saw him he looked pretty angry and broken up about something. Now that I think about it, usually, Midoriya would always go to the school roof when he's upset or if he needs to think about things. So maybe...
"Maybe we can find him by searching atop of all the city buildings."
I said landing on a cheap love hotel.
"What?"
I was broken out of thought by a muffled voice. I looked to my side and into purple eyes.
"Shinso, you know midoriya right?"
I asked taking out my pocket knife from my belt.
"Yeah, I guess you could say that."
He shrugged looking over at the other buildings around us before looking back at me.
"Why?"
"Would you be willing to do me a huge favor that can and will be counted as one of your first hero missions?"
I asked looking him dead in the eye. He looked at me shocked.
"I... I think I can."
He said nervously.
"Ok, I want you to hunt down midoriya and watch over him for me."
I said blankly staring at him.
"What?"
He asked surprised.
" You know how he is on the run and stuff. I want to make sure he's ok and you're the perfect guy for the job."
"I...He... We barely even know each other?!"
He said shouting out of character for someone who is mostly quiet.

"Oh come on, I see the way you act differently around him and the way you look at him."
"Wh...What?!"
He yelled even louder with just his red ears showing since his mask is covering half his face. I rolled my eyes and looked over at the buildings and back at the boy before holding my hand out.
"If you accept this mission, give me your voice communicator."
He looked down at my hand hesitantly before slowly reaching and pulling the earpiece out and placing it in my hand. I cut the wire with my knife and threw it to the ground before stepping on it.
"Give me your phone as well. I will give you a burner phone so no one can track you."
He nodded and pulled his phone out and placed it in my hand. I pulled out a silver flip phone and handed it to him.
"We will keep in contact with this. And please don't tell Midroiya that I'm sending you."
I sighed.
"Won't he get mad for lying to him?"
"You can tell him the truth later on once you join him, but for now just don't say anything."
I said tiredly.
"Ok."
Shinso's POV
Eraserhead left in the opposite direction of where he told me to go. He said to pay attention to the roofs of tall buildings cause that is where Midoriya will most likely be found.
To be honest it surprised me when he asked about Midoriya. I was even more shocked when he asked me to find him and watch over him. I mean Midoriya and I aren't that close but we did talk and hang out quite a bit.
And I may or may not have had a teeny tiny little crush on him and his fluffy soft hair. I mean who wouldn't love his green curly locks or his deep emerald eyes. Don't forget his cute little freckles.
Getting off-topic... I need to hurry and find him so I can report back to Mr. Aizawa.
Izuku's POV
I'm so tired man. I miss waking up to Baster sleeping on my chest in his cat form and I miss Denki's cuddles. Then there's Kacchans cooking and Shoto's half warm half cold hugs.
I shouldn't be complaining seeing as I forced them out of my life. Maybe some spicy tacos will make me feel better...

I threw on my black sweater and my red shoes. I walked down to the hotel's empty lobby and walked out the boarded front door. I put my hoody on and walked to a nearby taco truck which was only ten blocks away!
"Four green chillie tacos please!"
I ordered and handed the money to the man. Don't ask how I even managed to pay for the tacos and just be glad it wasn't stolen money.
I started walking with one taco in hand and a bag of the other three in my other hand. I looked up at some random tall building and decided to eat up there.
I used one for all and launched myself to the top with a not so soft landing. I almost dropped my tacos!
I sighed in relief once I saw that my tacos were safe and I sat at the edge of the building in crisscross applesauce. I quietly ate my tacos and looked up at the stars until I felt a familiar presence behind me.
I turned around and saw a black and white cat jump from an ac vent and walk over to me.
"Aw, hi kitty..."
Seeing this cat reminded me of Baster when he was in his cat form. Except he was more rainbow. I softly rub the cat's head and give them a piece of my taco.
"Hopefully you like spicy food."
I chuckled. The cat started nibbling on the piece before I felt that same presence again.
"Hello?"
I called out but shrugged it off once no one answered. Usually, I would be on guard but right now I'm hungry and I want my tacos in my stomach.
"Hey..."
"SON OF A BISCUIT-EATING WHORE!"
I flinched, dropping my half-eaten taco. I sadly watched it fall to its demise and hit the ground.
"My... My taco..."
I sniffled as my eyes started to water.
"My bad."
I looked behind me and saw Toshi standing there in his hero costume.
"You killed my taco..."
I said as my lip started to wobble.
"Sorry, Mid-Izuku..."
I glared at him and stood to my feet.
"YOU KILLED MY TACO BEFORE I COULD EAT IT!"
I yelled pulling him down to my height by his shirt. He looked at me panicked.
"I'm sorry! I'll just buy you a new one!"
He pleaded. I glared at him and then let go.
"Fine. I accept your offer."
He straightened his clothes and nodded nervously. I took a second to look him up and down.
"Wow. You look hot in your hero costume."
I said walking around him and not so shamelessly checking him out.
"What?!"
He yelled with a heated face. How cute.
"Well let's go... You owe me more tacos."
I said turning on my heel and walking to the edge.
"Eh? More than one taco?"
He questioned. I shrug and picked up the bag with my other two tacos.
"Don't you want some as well?"
I asked looking at him. He tilted his head to the side. It's hard to read him with his stupid mask. I walk back over to him and throw my arms around his neck. He stilled as I reached my hands to his nape and behind his ears. I smiled looking up into violet eyes. My smile turned into a smirk as I quickly unclipped his mask and ran with it in my hand.
"Hey!"
I gave him a wink and fell backwards off the building.
"Race you to the bottom!"
I laughed. As I was about to flip over so I can use my quirk to break my fall, Toshi had already launched himself off the side of the building as well and was reaching out to me.
I smiled and closed my eyes as he got closer to me. I felt a tight grip around my waist and a strong pull that stopped me from falling. I looked up and saw that Shinso had a binding cloth tied around me and he was standing on the side of the build as he grinned down at me.
I smiled proudly at him. I was so happy that he became stronger than last time. He slid down the cloth to me and held my body upright by the waist as he undid the cloth.
"You've gotten stronger."
I said. He smiled and lowered us down to the ground.
"Well, it's been a short while since we last saw each other. Plus Mr. Aizawa has been training me."
"Well, I'm happy for you. "
I nodded and he finally let go of me.
"Let's go get those tacos?"
He suggested. I smiled.
"Sure."
