《His Red Eyes {SasuNaru}》Chapter 13

I was outside of Naruto's hospital room in the hallways, drying my tears. Rem was still comforting me, trying to assure me that Naruto would be okay.
After a few minutes of her trying to convince me for five minutes trying to persuade me that Naruto would be okay, I started to believe her.
After drying off the last of my tears, I looked up at her with a soft smile, "Thanks, Ms. Rem. I don't know how I'll ever repay you for all the comforting you've done for me over the years,"
She was there for me when my father passed away and when my mother couldn't help me get through that tough time, so I made a promise to myself that day that I would repay her someday.
She smiled at me and then got up, "He should be finished by now, I'll take my leave. Visit the hospital more often, Sasuke." she said as she left the hallway.
A couple of minutes after she left, the door to Naruto's room swung opened. I got startled, so I stood up immediately.
"Is he okay? Is he fine? Is he awake?" I bombarded the doctor with questions, whom I didn't recognize. He nodded in a comforting way. Before he could explain anything to me, I walked past him into the room.
Glancing around the room, it was an average hospital room. One bed, a bedside table, a bunch of doctor stuff I don't know about, and two windows.
Naruto was sleeping on the bed, I walked over to him and sat down on the chair next to his bed to see how he was doing. The doctor walked in after me, "Like I was saying, we've given him some stitches on his shoulder,"
I look over at Naruto's shoulder, it was bandaged with a wooden dowel supporting it.
I brush my hand over the bandage. Naruto began to stir in his sleep the moment I touched him. I pull my hand back so I wouldn't disturb him.

"Thank you, doctor," I said, turning around to face him. He nodded, as if to say 'You're welcome.' "You can stay with him for the time being. He should wake up by tomorrow, maybe today if you are lucky"
I thank him once again as he left the room, leaving us alone. Watching Naruto sleeping put me at ease. Knowing he was safe made me feel relaxed.
I stood up from the chair and bent over Naruto, I knew I shouldn't be doing this, but it was too tempting to stop myself.
I leaned over, so my head was above his, leaned down, and kissed his forehead. His skin was soft, like silk, if I must.
I brush my hand over where I kissed him on his forehead. I see a drop of liquid fall on the pillow right next to his ear.
I didn't realize what it was at first, but as several more fell, I realized they were tears coming from my eyes.
I leaned back and wiped the tears off my face. I feel a hand cup my face in their entire palm. The hand was cold as if they had been outside the hospital the whole time.
I touch the hand that cupped my face and followed the arm linked to it to find the person holding me.
I see him smile at me, "Sasuke, don't cry, watching you cry makes me want to cry,"
The familiar voice made my heart skip a beat like it always would. Naruto was on the bed, eyes barely opened, cupping my cheek as he had a loving expression on his face.
Without thinking, I climbed onto his bed and yanked him into the tightest embrace I've ever given someone.
"A-Ah, Sasuke, my arm, be careful," Naruto warned me, I shifted my hand, so one was on his back while the other was gently resting on the back of his neck.

"I COULD'VE LOST YOU!" I yelled. Naruto flinched. I don't think he's seen me cry before.
"DON'T EVER FUCKING DO SCARE AGAIN, UNDERSTAND? I CAN'T LOSE YOU TOO," I shouted as I buried my face into his blonde spiky hair.
I felt his body relax under my grip, and his hands slowly rest on my back. "I-I'm sorry, Sasuke," I heard the speed of his breathing change,
I pulled back from the hug, he looked up at me with tears forming in his eyes. My heartfelt like it was breaking into pieces, slowly before my own eyes.
I dried the tears away with the back of my right hand. I then placed my forehead against his, "I'm sorry I was mad," I said, he closed his eyes,
"It's fine, Sasuke. You were just concerned for me," he said, smiling warmly. I can't believe he was willing to forgive me so easily,
I realize the position we were in, and how if someone were to walk in, they'd get the wrong impression of what we were doing.
My grip on him loosened a bit, "I should leave you be. You need rest." I tell him, getting off the bed.
Naruto laid back down on the bed. I pull the covers over his body. After tucking him in, I touch his soft face.
He leans into the touch. Oh right, he was awake, I blush. "S-Sorry, I'll leave," I said, trying to retract my arm from his face.
Keyword, tried. Naruto's hand held onto mine, "Don't," was all Naruto said, interlocking his hand with mine.
He tightened the grip on my hand, "It makes me feel safe," he said, a blush spreading across his face like a wildfire.
I contemplate in my mind silently for a moment, before agreeing to it reluctantly. How am I supposed to say no to Naruto? I need to search this up later. How to say no to your crush?
I sat back down in the chair next to the bed. I lay my head on the bed, watching Naruto's eyes look deeply into mine.
He held out his hand for me to take. I lift my right hand from my side to take his hand. As his fingers interlock with mine, my eyes close.
"Hey, Sasuke," I open one of my eyes to see him looking at me. "You said you don't have a dad anymore, but you mentioned a brother once. What happened to him?"
I close my eyes again from being a slight bit tired, "He took over my dad's company. He still needs to make a living for us. I don't see him often,"
I open my eyes slightly and sneak a peek at him, "What about your dad? I haven't seen him,"
"He travels a lot. He has worked here and there, so he's home only a few days at a time," he said, shrugging it off.
I nod. I smile at Naruto, "So much for sleeping," I chuckled in a hush tone, he smiled at me.
I watched as he fluttered his eyes as if he was trying not to fall asleep. After a minute, his eyes closed and stayed that way.
His breathing became more even, and his face seemed more at peace. I could feel my eyes getting heavier by the second. I gave in eventually and closed them.
I was just about to go to sleep until I heard Naruto say mutter something while sleeping, "Don't change my name. I like it."
