"Look at you! You look so gorgeous" Yasmine said.

"Thank you. This is the only dress that I felt comfortable in."

"And it looks great on you" Yasmine said as she smiled.

Today is the day that we celebrate baby girl. This pregnancy has literally flown by, but I'm excited to meet my princess. I can't even lie, I'll miss my pregnant belly when it's gone. I'll miss East being attached to my stomach 24/7 too.

"I know you're obsessed with soul food and Jamaican food right now, so I asked the chef to cook a little bit of everything" Yasmine said.

My face instantly lit up. I have a very unhealthy relationship with food right now. Food is like crack to me. That's the reason why I've gained forty pounds already. My snap back journey is going to be VERY long.

"Oh my god, you're the best! Thank you so much."

"What are mamas for?" Yasmine asked as she smiled.

I laughed then followed her out to the backyard. "The decorations are beautiful! I'm gonna cry" I said as I fanned my eyes.

I didn't get a baby shower with Kaiser, so this means a lot to me. The fact that she went all out means even more to me. She could've just put something cheap together, but she really took her time to plan this. I couldn't have asked for a better mom inlaw.

"Look at my fine ass baby mama! God damn" East said as he approached me.

I smiled then wiped my eyes. "Thank you baby."

"Wait, why you crying?" East asked.

"Because this is my first baby shower. It's so beautiful."

He laughed, "I should've known it wasn't nothing serious. Lil cry baby ass."

I rolled my eyes then wrapped my arms around his waist. "I'm so blessed. I love it here."

East looked down at me then kissed my forehead. "I love it here too" he said.

"Look at the lovebirds" I heard a familiar voice say.

"Uncle East! Congratulations" Ezra said as he ran over to East.

"'Preciate that nephew" East said as he picked Ezra up.

"Congratulations to you and Jeremiah, you look so pretty" Ms. Helen said.

I smiled then hugged her. "Thank you so much."

We may not fuck with Zander anymore, but Ms. Helen will always be family. She holds no ill will towards us. She knows that Zander dug himself into this hole. YES she loves her son, but wrong is wrong.

"You look pretty" Ezra said.

"Awww, thank you baby."

Ezra is a great kid, and East loves him like his own. That love will never change. Kids are innocent in situations like this.

"Say cheese" Yasmine said as she snapped a picture of East and I.

I looked at the picture then cut my eye at East. "It's the thumbs up for me."

"Big crip" East said.

I rolled my eyes then waved him off.

"You can take a nigga out the hood, but you can't take the hood out the nigga" Sammy said.

I laughed, "that part."

"Family! Congratulations" Kareem said as he approached us along with Kelis and their baby girl.

"Sorry we're late. We overslept" Kelis said.

"It's cool. Parenthood is wearing y'all asses out huh?" East asked as he laughed.

"Man what? We get zero sleep now" Kareem said

Kelis and Kareem welcomed their baby girl, Kaliah, about a month ago. She's such a beautiful chocolate baby, and Kelis and Kareem are doing a great job with parenting so far. When I first met Kelis, she was a bit of a wildcard. Now she's a mother and a soon-to-be wife. It's crazy how fast life can change, but I love to see it.

"All of my friends are starting families, and then there's me" Sammy said as we all laughed.

"You'll find somebody sis. Any nigga would be lucky to have you, and they're dumb if they lose you" Kareem said.

"That fucking part! Let her know Kareem."

"I know a good woman when I see one. The right man will come along. Don't settle for anything less than what you deserve" East said.

I love how Kareem and East always have Sammy back. They have that brotherly and sisterly love.

"Y'all are the sweetest. I appreciate y'all so much" Sammy said.

"You know we got you, always" Kareem said.

"Awwwww, I love our lil crew. We've truly built a family bond" Kelis said.

"I know right! I love it here" Sammy said.

"MA MA! LOOK!" Kaiser shouted as he ran over to me while holding up a toy.

I gasped, "a paw patrol toy! Who gave that to you?"

"Papa" Kaiser said as he pointed at Jonathan.

"Did you tell him thank you?"

Kaiser nodded then climbed into East's lap. I smiled as I watched East play with Kaiser. I can always count on my boys to put a smile on my face.

"Jeremiah, when are you gonna do it? The baby shower will be over soon" my mom said.

"I don't know. I'm waiting for the right time."

My mom smirked then shook her head. "Awwww, my baby is nervous. That is just too cute" she said.

I smacked my lips then waved her off. "I'm not nervous."

"Yes you are, and that's okay. You don't think she'll say yes?" My mom asked.

"I don't know mama."

"Well, let's find out" my mom said as she smiled.

"GENESIS! COME HERE BABY" she shouted.

I shook my head then sighed. Now I have no choice but to do this shit.

"What's wrong?" Genesis asked as she approached us.

"Oh nothing, Jeremiah has an announcement to make" my mom said as she looked at me.

"What is it baby? Is everything okay?" Genesis asked.

I nodded, "everything is cool shorty. I just wanna do something real quick."

She gave me a confused look before nodding her head.

"BE QUIET EVERYBODY! JEREMIAH HAS A SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE" my mom shouted.

"I didn't prepare a speech or anything for this moment. I've been wanting to do this for awhile now, but I never felt like it was the right time until now. Genesis, I love you more than anything and anybody on this earth. When I first met you, I felt like I was walking with an angel. I used to go out my way just to be around you. I was lowkey obsessed with you, and I couldn't get enough of you. I still can't."

I smiled while everyone laughed.

"YOU A SUCKA" Kareem shouted, causing everybody to laugh harder.

I flicked him off then turned my attention back to Genesis.

"I don't really know what else to say baby. I'm not good at this shit. I know that I love you, I love Kaiser, and I wanna spend the rest of my life with y'all. I don't want anybody else. You're the only woman that's good enough for me now."

I got down on one knee then opened the ring box, never breaking eye contact with Genesis. "Will you marry me?"

Genesis gasped along with everyone else.

"Jeremiah...you wanna marry me?" Genesis asked.

"Hell yeah! And you better not say no either."

Genesis laughed along with everybody else. "Of course I'll marry you baby. I would never say no to that" she said.

I smiled then slid the ring onto her finger before standing up.

"I love you so much" Genesis said.

I wiped her tears away then kissed her. "I love you too baby. This is a forever thing."

Genesis and I embraced each other while our family and friends cheered for us. I never thought I'd see the day where I would get down on one knee and propose to a woman. I wasn't even thinking about marriage until I met Genesis. That woman and our kids are my whole world. I wouldn't want to spend the rest of my life with anybody else.
