I stood on my balcony, drinking champagne and taking in the view of Los Angeles. It feels damn good to be free. Lord knows that I was losing my mind in jail. That's not a good place for anybody, especially somebody with mental issues.
"Baby? You okay?" Genesis asked as she approached me.
I turned around, looking her in her eyes.
"What?" Genesis asked.
"You were right about everything. You're the reason why I'm free today. I can't thank you enough baby."
Genesis smiled, "you don't have to thank me. You would've done the same thing for me. We're a team."
I pulled her closer to me then placed a single kiss on her lips. "I love you."
"I love you too babe, but I wanna know what has you drinking at nine in the morning" Genesis said.
"I'm just thinking about life."
"You're thinking about the bad things in life. We have a baby girl on the way, we're moving in together, let's embrace the positive things in life" Genesis said.
I couldn't help but to think about Zander and what he did. I feel like nobody really understands how hurt I am. I love that nigga, and I would've laid down and died for him. I've had his back from the very beginning, and what do I get in return? Framed for a couple thousand dollars. This shit is fucked up. He didn't have to cross me like that. We could've figured that shit out TOGETHER.
"You're right. I can't just turn my feelings off though baby. I'm dead ass hurt, and I'll probably feel like this for awhile."
"I understand, but PLEASE don't let this situation drive you crazy. You're a real one, and you were a good friend to him. You don't deserve to suffer for his actions" Genesis said.

"It's not something that I can control. I feel how I feel, but I'll be okay. Ima thug this shit out."
"I'm here for you, ALWAYS" Genesis said.
"I know."
Genesis smiled, "come help me cook breakfast."
She grabbed my hand, pulling me into the house.
"AGAIN DA DA!" Kaiser shouted.
I picked him up then tossed him into the air while he laughed. I missed my lil nigga, and I know he missed me too. I'll never ever leave him and Genesis again.
"Y'all are so crazy." Genesis smiled as she stood in the doorway, watching Kaiser and I.
"I missed his lil ass."
"I know. I missed seeing y'all play together. He used to cry himself to sleep sometimes because he wanted to see you" Genesis said.
"I'm here now, and I'm never leaving y'all again."
I walked over to Genesis, kneeling down then kissing her stomach. "My lil mama, I can't wait till she gets here."
"I know right. I wonder who she's gonna look like" Genesis said.
"Not yo ugly ass" I joked.
Genesis laughed then mushed my head. "Go get yo hair cut before you try to come for my looks. Your head is looking a mess" she said.
I laughed, "fuck you. I like my shit without the braids. I'm thinking 'bout wearing it like this from now on."
"Chile" Genesis waved me off then rolled her eyes playfully.
"You don't think I look good like this?"
"It's your face for me. Baby, you could be bald, and I would still find you attractive" Genesis said.
I smirked, "word? I'm that fine?"
Genesis nodded, "absolutely."
My phone started going off, interrupting our conversation. I seen that it was Kareem, so I quickly answered it.
"Cuzzo! Wassup? How you feeling?" Kareem asked.

"I feel good. I'm just happy to be home."
"I'm happy for you. Kelis and I wanna take you, Genesis and Kaiser out to dinner. We need to celebrate" Kareem said.
"Shit, I'm down. When and where?"
"That Japanese restaurant on sunset boulevard. Meet us there at eight" Kareem said.
"Heard ju, we'll be there."
"Aight" Kareem said.
I ended the call then turned my attention to Genesis. "We're meeting Kareem and Kelis at eight. They wanna celebrate."
"I know" Genesis said as she winked
"How you know?"
"Kelis told me" she said.
I nodded then watched as she rummaged through our closet.
"Wear something fancy. Ima get dressed up too. We gotta show out on these folks."
Genesis laughed, "period pooh."
I opened the door for Genesis then jogged over to the back to take Kaiser out of his carseat. It felt good to be out and about with my family. I missed doing shit like this.
"I eat eat?" Kaiser asked.
I chuckled, "in a minute lil man."
Kaiser's lil ass loves to eat.
I used one hand to hold Kaiser then grabbed Genesis' hand with my other. She looked up at me and smiled as we walked into the restaurant.
"SURPRISE" everybody shouted as we walked in.
A "welcome home" banner hung from the ceiling and balloons covered the vicinity of the restaurant.
I looked down at Genesis then laughed. "You knew about this huh?"
"I sure did. Your mom and I are the ones that rented the restaurant out" Genesis said as she smiled.
"Welcome home cuzzo" Kareem said as he pulled me in for a bro hug.
"'Preciate that family."
"Welcome home East! We missed your rude ass" Kelis said as she hugged me.
I laughed while hugging her back. "Oh so I'm rude now? I knew Sammy was my favorite sister for a reason."
Kelis rolled her eyes playfully then took Kaiser out of my arms.
I felt somebody put something around my neck, so I quickly turned around to see who it was.
"The stones in this necklace will bring you peace. I know you need it after getting out of that terrible place" Sammy said.
I smiled, "'preciate you Sam."
"No problem, now give me some love" Sammy said as she reached her arms out.
I wrapped my arms around her, giving her a tight hug. I was definitely feeling the love from everybody. This lil party means a lot to me. They didn't have to do this shit for me, but they did. I'm appreciative.
"Before we get settled in, I want to say something" my mom said.
Everyone turned their attention towards her.
"Jeremiah, my sweet baby boy. I knew that you were special the day I laid eyes on you. You are my TRUE first love, and you always will be. I know I don't say it enough, but I am very proud of you. I may not agree with some of your life decisions, but I'm still very proud of you. You're a successful businessman, you're in a happy relationship with a wholesome woman, you're expecting a baby, and you're already an amazing father to Kaiser. I have a lot to be proud of. I love you so much" she said.
"Ole sentimental ass" my dad said.
My mom rolled her eyes then smacked him upside his head.
I chuckled, "I love you too mama."
"WELCOME HOME JEREMIAH" everybody shouted as they raised their glasses then started drinking. I hope these muthafuckas have a designated driver.
The whole night was filled with nothing but love. It was definitely a night to remember.

I've reached the peak of cultivation. I'm over a million years old. But still... I still have no idea what I'm doing. I'm so old, but I haven't gotten any smarter. I fall for the same old tricks and I'm still just a kid under heaven. Throughout it all, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I guess I'll just relax... Hopefully someone comes to make trouble for me or life's going to get real boring.
