"I don't think you should go over there right now. You're angry and you might do something that you'll regret" Genesis said.
I ignored her and continued to put my clothes on.
Genesis sighed, "I'm coming with you."
"Hurry up then" I demanded.
She rolled her eyes then walked into my closet.
I sat down on my bed then ran my hands over my face. I couldn't believe that Yesenia would try to get me sent to jail for LIFE. All I was trying to do was protect her and my niece. The way I went about it may have been wrong to some people, but to me it was the only way to keep them safe.
"You ready?" Genesis asked as she walked out of the closet wearing one of my t-shirts and a pair of my sweatpants.
I cracked a small smile because I love seeing her in my clothes. To be honest, I think she looks even better in my clothes.
"Did you hear me?" Genesis asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
"Don't lose your temper Jeremiah. You get irritated quickly, and I don't want you to do something crazy" Genesis said.
I honestly don't know how I'm going to react. I would never put my hands on Yesenia, but she's forsure gonna hear my mouth. After this lil confrontation, she's dead to me.
"Jeremiah? It's three in the morning. What are you doing here?" My mom asked as she opened the front door.
"Where is Yesenia? I need to talk to her ASAP."
"About what? What is going- wait is that Kaiser's mother?" My mom asked as she looked at Genesis.
"Yes it is, nice to meet you" Genesis said as she extended her hand.
"You are even more beautiful in person, and you have such a sweet vibe. I'm Jeremiah's mother, Yasmine" my mom said as she shook Genesis' hand.
Genesis smiled, "you look so young. You don't even look like you can have a son his age."
"Chile, I'm almost fifty years old" my mom said as she laughed.

"You don't look a day over thirty" Genesis said.
"Aye! This conversation can happen another day. Mama, I need you to go get Yesenia."
"Why are you so hostile? Talk to me" my mom said.
"Yo fucking daughter is trying to get me arrested! After all the shit I've done for her, this is what I get in return?"
"What? How do you know this?" My mom asked.
Before I could respond Yesenia walked down the stairs.
"ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY MY NIGGA? YOU WANT ME IN JAIL BECAUSE I PROTECTED YOU? YOU REALLY WENT TO THE FUCKING POLICE?"
"YOU DESERVE TO GO TO JAIL! YOU'RE A FUCKING LUNATIC! I HOPE YOUR GIRLFRIEND KNOWS ABOUT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES! DOES SHE KNOW THAT YOU'VE KILLED MULTIPLE PEOPLE?" Yesenia shouted as she looked at Genesis.
Genesis just stood there with an uncertain look on her face.
"That's enough Yesenia" my mom said.
"No, it's not enough. She should know what she's dealing with. He'll probably beat her when he's angry" Yesenia said.
"The same way Travis used to beat yo ass? Yeah, I would never."
"FUCK YOU! YOU'RE A BITCH ASS, MURDERING ASS NIGGA" Yesenia shouted.
"What the hell is going on down here? All that damn yelling" my dad muttered as he walked downstairs.
"Apparently, Yesenia reported Jeremiah to the cops" my mom said.
"YOU DID WHAT!?!" My dad shouted.
"He killed Tra-" Yesenia said before my dad cut her off.
"I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHAT HE DID! HE'S YOUR FUCKING BROTHER! DO YOU WANT HIM IN JAIL FOR LIFE?" my dad shouted.
"YES! HE DESERVES TO BE IN JAIL" Yesenia shouted.
"YOU SHOW NO LOYALTY TO YOUR FAMILY. YOUR BROTHER HAS BENT OVER BACKWARDS FOR YOU ALL HIS LIFE! THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY HIM? YOU AND YOUR MOTHER MAY NOT AGREE WITH HOW HE DID THINGS, BUT HE DID IT TO PROTECT YO UNGRATEFUL ASS! BE GRATEFUL THAT YOU'RE STILL ALIVE" my dad shouted.
My dad understands me the most because he's been through the same things as me. I lived his life all over again. I'm basically a repeat of him. He understands that I do what I have to do to survive and protect the people I love.

"Let's all just calm down" my mom said.
"FUCK CALMING DOWN! YESENIA, YOU'RE GONNA TAKE YO ASS BACK DOWN TO THAT STATION LATER ON AND CLEAR THIS SHIT UP. THEY'RE ALREADY ON HIS ASS ABOUT THAT STRIP CLUB SHOOTING. YOU JUST CAUSED MORE PROBLEMS FOR HIM" my dad shouted as he shook his head.
Yesenia started crying, but my dad showed zero sympathy. He was pissed off to the max.
"It's gonna be okay sweetie. We'll figure this out" my mom said as she hugged Yesenia.
My mom doesn't take sides in family arguments, but my dad will tell it like it is. He has no problem telling us when we're wrong.
"Who's this?" My dad asked as he looked at Genesis.
"This is Genesis, my girlfriend."
My mom's eyes instantly lit up. I could tell that she wanted to say a mouthful, but she just smiled instead.
"Nice to meet you Genesis, I'm Jeremiah's father. You can call me Jon or Jonathan" my dad said as he shook Genesis' hand.
"I hope you know what you're getting yourself into" Yesenia said as she looked at Genesis.
"Yesenia" my dad warned.
"I hope you know that you're dead to me after this. Don't ask me for shit, don't call my phone, none of that. I'll never be able to fuck with you again after this shit."
Yesenia just stood there looking stupid.
Genesis and I said our goodbyes to my parents then we headed home.
"Why didn't you tell me about your mental health issues?" Genesis asked.
I pulled her closer to me then kissed her forehead. "It's not important. Don't worry, I'll never hurt you if that's what you're worried about."
"I'm not worried about that. I'm worried about YOU. Mental health issues can make you do crazy things" Genesis said.
"As long as I take the medicine I'll be alright."
I honestly haven't taken that medicine in years. Smoking, drinking, and occasional pill popping is my medicine. I don't like the way those antipsychotics make me feel. They don't help me at all. If anything, they make me feel worse. I didn't want Genesis worrying about me though, so I lied.
"Well, it doesn't change the way that I look at you. I'm here for you" Genesis said.
"I appreciate that Gen. You been solid since you met me. Even when you didn't know me that well, you still showed me loyalty."
"You saved my life. I'm from the hood baby, we don't snitch on people that help us" Genesis said.
"Yeah, my sister should take notes from you."
"Were you two close before this?" Genesis asked.
"We were, that's why I can't believe she went to the police. I wasn't expecting that shit from her. She did all that for a man that whooped her ass and put her unborn daughter's life at risk."
"You can't help somebody that doesn't want to be helped" Genesis said.
"You're right. I should've let that nigga stay alive and continue to beat her ass."
"Don't say that. You did what you had to do to protect her. She'll come to her senses one day. I just hope this situation gets cleared up because I don't wanna lose you" Genesis said as she rubbed my face.
"You won't lose me. I'm not the one that killed him anyways. Somebody did it for me."
"Do you think the person that did it will snitch on you?" Genesis asked.
"Nah, he knows better. He won't get caught either though. Like I said before, there's no evidence."
I wasn't worried about getting caught. I was just worried about the feds being on my trail. They'll be watching my every move now, and that makes me paranoid as fuck. Yesenia caused even more problems in my life, and that's why I'll never look at her the same. As of right now, I don't have a sister.
