"I'm so glad you brought him with you. He is so adorable" my mom said as she watched Kaiser eat a candy bar.
"Thank his mama. She's the one that allowed him him to come."
"Speaking of his mother..." my mom trailed on causing me to sigh.
"Are you in a relationship with his mother? She's a very beautiful girl" my mom said.
"Wait, how do you know what she looks like?"
"I seen her on Instagram" my mom said.
I shook my head then laughed. My mom is nosey as fuck.
"You should've been a detective."
My mom smacked her lips then hit my arm.
"Are you two together or not? I would like to meet her too. You should bring her by next time" my mom said.
"We're not together. That's the homie."
"I don't know if I believe that" my mom said.
I laughed, "ask her yourself."
"You have her son though. There must be some type of feelings involved" my mom said.
"I care about both of them. There's feelings involved, but we're just FRIENDS. She has a lot going on, and I don't wanna add to that. I don't know what I want right now. She deserves to be with somebody that's ready to give her their all. That's a good woman right there, and she deserves the best."
"So you're willing to let her slip away? You speak so highly of this woman. You like her Jeremiah. Are you really willing to let somebody else have her? Stop being so scared of commitment. That "I don't know what I want" crap is an excuse. You know what you want, but you're too damn scared to go after it. Man up and go after what you want" my mom said.

This is why I avoid these talks with my mom. She can see right through me, and she's on point EVERYTIME. These talks make me think about shit that I've been trying to avoid. She definitely had me in deep thought.
"You hear me?" My mom asked.
"Yeah, I hear you mama."
"Think about what I just said. Don't let her sl-" my mom's 'speech' was interrupted by the doorbell.
"We have trick-or-treaters! I'll be right back" my mom said.
She grabbed a bucket of candy then scurried to the front door.
I looked down at my phone after feeling it vibrate. It was a message from Gen. I almost forgot to send her a picture of Kaiser, so she was on my ass.
🙄🤬😥
😂😂😂
I sent the picture, waiting her reply.
🥰 😘
😂
🙄🙄
"Teenagers are so funny. One of them tried to ask for my number" my mom said as she laughed.
"I'll beat his lil ass," I said, sliding my phone into my pocket.
"Leave that baby alone. Lord, you are your father's child. You're just like him" my mom said.
I laughed, "you say that all the time."
"That's because it's true" she said.
"Lemme get some candy."
"This is for the kids. Are you gonna buy more?" My mom asked.
"Yeah, I'll buy more" I lied.
My mom rolled her eyes playfully then handed me the bucket.
"Senia" I called out.
"What Jeremiah? What do you want?" Yesenia asked.
"I'm trying to check on yo ignorant ass."
"FUCK YOU! You killed my child's father, and you expect me to have a conversation with you? Go to hell" Yesenia said.
"I ain't kill that nigga."
"YES YOU DID! THAT'S WHAT YOU DO! YOU FUCKING KILL PEOPLE!" Yesenia shouted.

"YOU THINK I'M SUPPOSED TO HAVE SYMPATHY FOR THAT NIGGA? HE BEAT YO ASS, AND YOU SITTING HERE ACTING LIKE THAT MUTHAFUCKA WAS A GOOD MAN. YOU'RE A LOT DUMBER THAN I THOUGHT" I shouted back.
"What's all the fuss about in here?" My mom asked as she walked into the kitchen.
"Nothing, I'm out. Love you mama."
I kissed my mom's cheek before heading out with Kaiser.
Yesenia had me fucked up. I understand that she loved Travis, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a woman beater. She's acting like he was a good man, but he was far from that. I did what was best for her and my niece.
"JEREMIAH, WAIT!" My mom shouted as she ran outside.
"I don't even wanna talk about it mama. If she wants to be mad at me over a nigga that beat her ass then I don't give a fuck. I'm tired of this fucking family treating me like I'm a villain or something. When I killed people it was because I HAD to. Yeah, I got that nigga killed! He would've killed Yesenia and my fucking niece. I knew she would've went back to him, so I made sure that she couldn't. If y'all wanna hate a nigga for that then fuck it." I shrugged then finished buckling Kaiser's carseat.
My mom just stood there, she was speechless. At that point I was fed up. I'm tired of being looked at as the bad guy.
Yesenia was sitting on her bed in deep thought. She was trying to decide if she wanted to call this person or not. If she calls this person then it'll change EVERYTHING. She needs the closure that she's desperately searching for.
"We'll be okay Nayeli" Yesenia mumbled as she rubbed her stomach.
She took her phone out then dialed the number that was printed on a card. The line rang a few times before somebody answered.
"This is Detective Norris, who am I speaking with?"
"Um, Yesenia Wright."
"Hello Ms. Wright, how can I help you? Do you have any questions for me?"
"No questions today. I do have a lead for you though. I heard his confession with my own ears. I don't have proof right now, but I can get it."
"A lead? Who?"
"My brother, Jeremiah Wright."

The Apocalypse Show - Dungeon Core
There were lot's of ways that people had predicted that the world would end. A few even had it partially correct. But how could they have predicted it would be a combination of the system apocalypse and aliens. Specifially aliens that wanted to create the equivlant of a TV show about the system apocalypse on Earth. Arthur woke up with a headache and the option to create a character. Most people would have gone with the safe choice and selected to stay a human. Arthur suspected that wouldn't be the safe choice in his new world. Instead he decided to see what other races were available. Eventually he decided to become a dungeon core instead. Of course being a dungeon core comes with a number of challenges. Starting with the fact that he was a giant crystal instead of having a body, managing a bunch of unintelligent minons, and most importantly the reaction of his human neighbors when they discover him. If he can overcome these challenges he may be able to enjoy some of the benefits. Such as the fact that dungeon cores are immortal and he would eventually have an entire army of dungeon minions that would obey any of his commands. Perhaps even find some female companions that are looking for a safe place during the apocalypse. Warning: If this fiction was a movie I'd rate it R for occasional scenes of violence, gore, nudity, and sexual content. This isn't something you would find in the young adult section. This does not mean that this would be rated NC-17 or X, if that is what you are looking for try lewd dungeon.

The slice of life tag is there for a reason. The story is slow, and the characters unfold as the story is told.
