Serena

"Sofia. Bébé, please. Now is not the time to be fussy, especially when Mummy looks so pretty," I watched Sara trying to negotiate with her daughter, on how crying when Sara was all dressed up wasn't ideal.

It was so amusing to watch her actually talk to Sofia so rationally, as if she were a grown adult.

Sofia, my beautiful Goddaughter, was a true sight.

Even as a baby, she had a full head of hair, which I knew would definitely grow into luscious locks like Sara's hair. Her little face was scrunched up most of the time, since she was quite a fussy baby, but when asleep, she was the epitome of calm. Her little baby face looked so peaceful.

I loved being able to call myself a Godmother. It was actually quite the achievement.

Although, when I told Sara I wanted some kind of official plaque to commemorate the name, she laughed in my face.

I thought it was a great idea, especially since I was Godmother twice over.

Sofia is Sara and Danny's second child, after their first born is little Hugo. He was now two and half, and already trying his best to run around everywhere, even if he fell over quite a bit.

Sara has this habit of called her little ones Bébé and it is this most adorable thing.

I still remember being in the waiting room when Sophia was going to be born, feeling nervous and excited. Danny was in the room with Sara, and it wasn't till he ran out, announcing that he was a Dad again, did we all take a breath of relief.

Then of course, we let out a cheer, getting told off for it after.

"I really hope Louis doesn't want kids," Arya said. Her face scrunched up as she looked at a crying Sofia.

"Let's hope Louis' pull-out game is strong then," Sara said, amusement in her voice.

I turned my head towards her in shock.

"Sara," I said her name in a scolding tone, looking at her and then towards Bea.

"What's the pull-out game?" She asked in confusion, her brows furrowed together. This is just great.

"It's when-" Arya opened her mouth to begin explaining, but I knew for a fact she wasn't about to give her some cute-little lie, she'd tell her the truth.

At eight-years old, I wasn't about to let Bea know what that meant. She was still an innocent, little girl.

"It's a game for adults, baby. Don't worry about it," I tried to casually shrug off her confusion and it seemed to work, as Bea went back to sorting out her flowers.

When I looked at both Sara and Arya, they were grinning at me and I couldn't help smile back at them.

"Don't worry. I have arrived," I looked to the door and saw Danny walking in, with a smug expression on his face. He looked quite handsome, suited and booted.

When I turned my head back to Sara, I saw her take a clear breath of relief.

"Here. Take her, please," she told Danny, carefully handing Sofia off to Danny. Immediately, her whines began to fade away, as she played with the tie Danny had on.

"Why are you stressing? We're already married," Danny joked and whilst I let out a snort in amusement, Sara didn't look too impressed.

One would think she was the one just proposed to and about to marry.

I took a seat on the armchair, watching the scene in front of me unfold, knowing it was going to be very entertaining to watch. Even Arya sat down, looking highly amused.

She smoothed out her dress and gave Danny a little twirl. "Do I look okay?" She asked.

Danny gave her a glance once over, from top to bottom before nodding.

"Yeah," was all he said to her.

Sara then frowned, placing one hand on her hip. "Yeah? That's it?" She asked up, raising a brow.

Danny blinked slowly, and and gulped. "Um-," he started to say, clearly unsure on where he was going to go with it.

"Compliment her," Arya groaned at his helpless expression.

Danny quickly nodded at her words, stepping a little closer to Sara.

"Baby, you look gorgeous. Out of this world, gorgeous," he tried to save himself, but it was such a poor attempt, even Sofia let out a gurgling sound in disagreement.

This caused Sara to let out a snort. "Terrible save, but I'll take it because you have to look after Sofia," she said, and I saw Danny sigh in relief. I shook my head at him.

Sara kissed Sofia's cheek gently. "Bye Bébé, be good, and please don't scream or cry," she asked.

I smiled at her words. "It's fine if she cries, Sara," I told her.

I wasn't going to be so uptight about the wedding, or get annoyed that Sofia would make noises. What mattered to me, was the person standing on the other end of that aisle. That's all that mattered.

Sara looked at me in disbelief. "No, S. This is the wedding of your dreams and no daughter of mine is going to cry during the ceremony," she firmly stated and then narrowed her eyes at Sofia in warning. Her own daughter.

Danny turned his head towards me, whilst lightly bouncing Sofia in his arms. He froze for a moment, when he took a proper look at me.

"Damn, Rena. You look-...God, you look beautiful," he complimented me, and pause in-between made me smile, and I won't lie, it made me blush a little too.

I smiled at him. "Thanks, Danny."

The dress I wore was perfect.

It had this soft and romantic touch to it, a long white gown with crystals and pearls beaded in it, with embroidered appliqués. The strapless bodice was in lace, fitted to my body exactly, with a sweetheart neckline. There was a tulle over, with a sparkly quality, highlighting the ball gown skirt, that wasn't too puffy, but just right. I could move around in ease with it.

The dress looked magical.

For the bridesmaids, they were all wearing dresses in the same colour, light blush pink. Whilst I wasn't a huge fan of pink, it went perfectly for the wedding. Besides, since Sara was the on who chose it, there wasn't much to argue about. Plus, seeing Arya dress up in pink was always a bonus.

My maid of honour was Sara, whilst Arya was my bridesmaid, along with Molly and Zoe.

Molly began working with me for the last three years and she helped me with opportunities for the shops. She even had a little girl, the same age as Bea, and became close friend. Zoe is the realtor at the estate agents that I have gone through so many times now to find a place. She was always so great and we became quick friends.

I would have asked Tiff to be my bridesmaid, if I knew about the wedding, and also if she wasn't eight-months pregnant and unable to fly from Australia.

"Go now. Shoo from here," Sara said, and when I looked at her, she was waving off Danny. "Bride and bridesmaids only. Oh and flower girls. And her parents. And-...just go," she ended her list of people that were allowed to be in the room.

My flower girl, was of course my gorgeous Bea, whilst Hugo was going to walk along side her. My Mum was currently with Hugo, taking him to the bathroom, whilst Dad was outside with Daisy, our family dog.

"Bye Bébé," Sara kissed Sofia's cheek once more, and let her go.

Danny turned to look at me, and gave me a cheeky wink.

"Good luck, cupcake," he grinned and then walked out the room, leaving us in bridesmaid central.

Liam

My wedding day.

Fuck, today was actually my wedding day.

Obviously, I was aware that I was the one that proposed to Rena, and it wasn't fear that was making my heart race, it was the excitement that I was finally going to marry her.

I was finally going to make her mine.

Rena didn't want to rush our relationship, a fear imbedded in her that rushing would only make things fall apart.

I didn't believe that, especially when I was determined to never let us fall apart. I was done being stupid. I was done pushing her away with my actions and hurting her.

She never deserved any of it and although I realised it late, I would never forget it.

I had put my plan in motion for a long time, making a booking for this place months ago.

Luckily, Rena wasn't one to snoop around my belongings or check my search history, so keeping things a secret from her wasn't all too hard.

The venue, this beautiful castle-like place, I heard about from work. One of the guys spoke about how he brought his wife here for a weekend getaway and she instantly loved the place. When he showed me pictures, I was certain Rena would love it too.

This place was like a setting for a fairytale and that was exactly what I wanted for Rena. I wanted to give Rena a happily ever after, like she so truly deserved.

I wanted to take a more traditional approach to things. I asked Rena's Dad for her hand in marriage.

After an intense interrogation, a polygraph and some more grilling, he finally agreed.

He also reminded me that he had a gun and wasn't afraid to use it.

Telling my parents was the easy part. They seemed more relieved, than anything.

Mum was so ecstatic, she wanted to scream the place down and nearly called Rena. I had to stop her from doing anything crazy like that. Which wasn't easy at all.

When I told Bea that I wanted to marry Rena, I was so scared. I was worried she'd be angry about it, but of course there was nothing like that from Bea. She was so happy that she would be able to break the promise she'd made to herself, and finally be able to call Rena, her Mummy.

Bea wanted me to pop the question straight away, so instead I had to tell her of my plan.

My family didn't make it easy on me. They would occasionally mention the idea of the two of us getting married and every time it would make me tense, thinking they'd ruin the plan.

However, when I looked to Rena, she would give me this warm smile, one that would instantly calm me down. It was like she knew of the panic within me and didn't want me to worry.

Even if I knew for a fact, she'd assume my panic was due to something else.

I couldn't lie, getting married again did cause a slight bit of turmoil within me.

The last time I had taken this step, it was with someone I loved and thought I would be with forever, only fate had a different idea.

Again, I'm taking this step, and I'm terrified that fate will change its' mind again, but I know I can't live in fear like that.

One step at a time and breath. That's what Rena would say and so that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Just as I was taking a last glance in the mirror, making sure my tie was straight, I heard a knock at the door.

When I turned, I saw the door open and Danny peak his head in, with baby Sofia in his arms.

"Hey, you decent?" He asked.

I looked at him weirdly, wondering why he was here, and knowing full well that Danny still wasn't exactly my biggest fan.

"Uh, yeah," I said, realising I hadn't answered him. "Come in," I gestured, and watched as Danny nodded and walked in, closing the door behind him.

There was this intimidating air around Danny, even if we were the same age. He could look damn right murderous at times and I just hoped Sofia in his arms meant he wouldn't attack me.

"Is everything okay?" I asked.

My worries seemed to be leaping from him attacking me, to him possibly telling me that Rena ran away.

That couldn't happen. Rena didn't run.

"Yes, I just wanted to talk to you," Danny said, before glancing at Sofia, who just smiled at him, letting out some sounds.

She reminded me of Bea, when she was at that age of just letting out nonsense sounds. Bea's favourite sound was of a train. It held no real significance, except indicating that Bea was happy.

There was a weird silence between us, before Danny was the one to break it.

"Serena and I both don't have any siblings, but somehow we've just created this sibling-bond between us. I think of her like my little sister, always have and always will," he told me, a small smile on his face as he did.

I already knew of this, but nodded nonetheless. "I understand," I replied.

Danny's expression turned stern once again, staring at me dead in the eye. "What I actually need you to understand is, that if you ever hurt her, or make her cry again, I will hurt you. One tear and that's it. You'll never see her again."

"I've seen her both keep it together and break down over the years because of you, and whilst you didn't know anything about it, I'm not going to let her break again. I won't have you break her heart again. Do you understand?" He asked.

Despite being together for a few years now and knowing how much hurt I had caused Rena, even if unintentionally, it still killed me when I was reminded of it. It was so unfair on her to go through all that, I hated that I was the root cause of it all.

I looked at Danny with sheer determination, so he could see the truth in my eyes, if not hearing them in my words.

"I do understand. I love her so much, and I know you don't trust me, but I promise you, I'll do everything to keep her happy. I was an idiot to ever hurt her, even unknowingly. Rena won't be hurt again. Never again," I told him truthfully.

Danny paused, eyeing me for a moment as if studying me, or waiting for me to flinch.

I didn't. I was in this for the long haul.

A moment later, I got a nod of approval from Danny.

"Good," he said, and to be honest I didn't expect much more anyway.

"So, are we good?" I asked him, unsure on where we both stood.

"We are," Danny replied and put his hand forward, holding onto Sofia securely with the other hand.

I reached mine forward as well and shook his hand.

Danny tensed his hand, gripping mine tightly, "Don't mess this up, Liam," he warned me.

I just smiled, his harsh grip having no effect on me. "I don't intend to," I answered.

There was no way I was going to let myself mess this up.
