If someone knocked at my front door at the early hours of the morning, before the sun had even risen, it was basically an invite for me to hurt them.
I had been swamped at the shop with so many brides coming in, tonight, I just wanted to sleep calmly, but clearly the person on the other side of the door wasn't having that.
Grabbing my robe, I put it on and walked to the front door.
When I looked through the peephole, I let out a groan when I saw Liam's grinning face.
Opening the door, I glared at him, whilst he just smiled.
"What the hell are you doing?" I greeted him.
The smile that was on his face, quickly fell when he realised that I wasn't as enthusiastically happy as he was.
"I thought you'd be happy to see me?" He frowned.
I gave him a dry look. "It's four in the morning and the Sun's not out, I wouldn't be happy to see anyone," I commented, opening the door wider for him to walk in.
Liam chuckled. "I forget, you're really not a morning person," he said.
I didn't even have the energy to smack him right now.
"Go back to sleep, Liam," I said and began to walk away, when I quickly turned back. "Wait, where's Bea?" I asked, looked down next to him and not seeing my little bumblebee with him.
"With my parents," he replied and I nodded.
I turned around to go back to bed, when Liam cleared his throat and I had to turn back to look at him again.
Raising a brow, I waited for him to talk.
"We're going out," he stated.
"Now?" I questioned and he nodded. I shook my head at him. "Now it's sleepy time" I said and yawned.
I could see Liam tilt his head at me. "Rena, you-" he began to say, and then shook his head. "-never mind," he finished, without completing his words.
Before I could question what was going on, he walked forward, closing the distance between us and swooped me up in this arms.
I let out a squeal at the unexpected action, instantly holding onto him.
"What are you doing?" I asked him, looking at his smirking face.
He walked towards my front door and just looked down at the side table beside it.
"Grab the keys, darling," he said, looking down at the bowl I always kept my keys in.
I was too sleepy to argue with him, or question what the hell this was about and instead reached out to grab the keys.
"Okay, let's go," Liam said and I just nuzzled my head into his chest as he carried me.
I was still drifting in and out of my sleep, when I could feel someone stroking my cheek gently and calling out my name.
"Wake up, Rena." I heard, and as my eyes fluttered open, I was met with Liam's warm brown orbs.
He was smiling at me and then moved some of my stray hairs away from my face.
I realised I was sitting in the car, in the passenger seat whilst Liam was in the driver's seat, leaning over towards me.
I just sighed in content, wanting to close my eyes again, but instead Liam cupped my face and then turned my head.
"Look-" he said, and when I blinked a few times I watched the warm, golden glow of the sun rising.
Everything around us looked magical, as if someone had poured over shimmering, gold glitter all over.

The car was parked so that we were overlooking a field, and I felt as if Liam had brought me to a land of fantasy.
I had seen the sunrise before, but not like this. Never so perfect.
"Liam, it's-" I couldn't even finish my words, the view in front of me was indescribable, I had lost all my words.
"Beautiful," Liam finished for me, moving to hold my hand as we watched sky lighten up.
After some time, Liam and I got out of the car, and laid out a blanket on the grass.
Whilst he was dressed casually, I was still in my pyjamas. We must be a sight.
I took a seat, as Liam went back to the car, and returned next to me with a basket in hand.
"What's this?" I asked him, as he sat down.
Liam smiled at me. "Breakfast," he said and just the prospect of food got me really happy.
"Really?" I asked him.
Liam nodded. "Yup. I packed a little of everything just in case," he told me, and then opened up the basket, looking inside. "So we have Nutella sandwiches, jar of healthy oatmeal, pancakes and-"
"Pancakes!" I exclaimed happily.
Liam let out a laugh at my excitement. "Alright, pancakes it is," he said, and brought out some Tupperware.
He then took out three different flasks. "I also have hot chocolate, coffee and tea. Choose your weapon," he grinned.
"Coffee," I said without hesitation. "I'm still not actually awake yet."
"Of course," he nodded, definitely knowing how I grouchy I could be.
He took out two mugs. It was a beauty and the beast mug set that I couldn't help but buy, because it was so damn adorable.
"Where did you even find this place?" I asked Liam, just as I took bite from my pancakes, the chocolate syrup I'd smeared on them made it all the more better.
Liam rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. "Scrolling through the internet," he said and I chuckled.
I could totally imagine him scouring through Instagram or Pinterest trying to come up with ideas on a perfect date.
Little did he know, I just needed him to make any date perfect.
He then let out a sigh. "I feel like I've missed on so many moments being so blind, but now-" he said, looking at me.
"Now?" I asked, taking another bite.
Liam smiled. "I see you," he said.
I smirked in response. "And I see pancakes."
"Cute," Liam replied, giving me a deadpan look. He then set his food aside, "Come here," he gestured, opening up his arms towards me.
I smiled and put my pancakes on the side and scooted closer to him, resting my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes.
Liam affectionately stroked my cheek with the back of his fingers, whilst his other arm was wrapped around me securely.
"God, you're so perfect," he said, and I couldn't help but smile.
"I'm not perfect," I mumbled, loving the feeling of his hand stroking my cheek.
Only that stopped, when Liam instead cupped my cheek instead with one hand.
"And yet you still are," he said, kissing the side of my head.
I leaned away from this hold and looked at him. I mean really looked at him.
The way he was smiling at me, had my heart doing flips. His eyes were on me, and only me.
I used to always wondered what it would be like for a Liam to look at me like this, and now he was. It's not that he never looked at me before, but not like this. Not like if there were only me.

Liam's smile faltered a little, seeing how I moved away and now was unashamedly staring at him.
"What?" He asked me, looking confused as his brows furrowed together, causing a little crease in-between them.
I shook my head gently, still smiling. "I've waited so long for you to look at me like this and now you are," I stated.
Liam leaned a little forward towards me, his beautiful brown eyes looking like pools of honey in the sun. "And how am I looking at you?" He asked.
I smiled. "How I've always looked at you," I said.
He didn't waste any time in closing the small gap between us and placing his lips upon mine.
A stomach-filling and happiness-inducing breakfast later, Liam and I were still sitting on the grass, just basking in the sunlight and in this moment.
Liam was sitting behind me, whilst I sat in-between his legs. My back was to his chest, as he wrapped his arms around me, resting his head on my shoulder. I kept my hands on his arms, just moving them up and down gently, and slowly.
Tilting my head ever so slightly, I broke the silence we found ourselves in.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked Liam.
He lifted his head up from my shoulders and leaned forward, nudging my back a little.
"You," he replied.
"Why?" I asked him, feeling slightly amused.
Liam unwrapped his arms from around me and I used this opportunity to turned around, facing him and crossing my legs. Liam kept his legs outstretched either side of me, and leaned back on his hands now.
"I'm just thinking, how did I never realise you loved me?" He asked rhetorically.
In the time we were together, I had quickly come to realise that his obliviousness to my feelings, was still quite a sore subject for him. He was still internally beating himself up over it, and whilst a tiny part of me was wondering how he never saw me, I didn't want him to feel guilty.
We'd both walked a long path to get to where we are now.
From losing loved ones, to hearts beating for others, we'd manage to come a long way. I didn't want to think about the past now, only towards our future together.
"Seriously? I'm not-" I began to say, wanting to tell him to not think about that, but Liam interrupted me instead.
He leaned forward, placing his hands on my thighs. "The way you look at me, it's as if there's only me. You always wore the bracelet I gave you and still wear it to this day. I was tied to you and yet I never stopped to think about it," he said.
I smiled at him. "When you're in love with someone else, you don't notice these things about someone, Liam."
If you're with someone and begin to notice certain things about them, like the way they smile, a look in their eyes or just innocent things like that, it can become a little dangerous.
When Liam was with Julie, it was clear to me that he'd only ever really see the things she would do. It made sense, although it didn't mean that I wasn't hurt.
Liam frowned at me. "Didn't you ever hate me?" He asked.
I couldn't help the amused expression on my face, at this question, and more so, his adorable expression.
"What?" I asked him.
Liam sighed, his hands leaving mine, and now moving back a little so he could also sit cross-legged, in front of me.
"You must've hated me so much. I was so selfish, I practically used you, no I-" he began to ramble, till I cut him off.
"Liam, shut up." From the surprised look on his face, it was clear he didn't expect me to say that, but I carried on nonetheless. "I never hated you. We were friends and you needed help. I never thought of it as you using me," I told him.
Over the years during high school, Liam would also find a way to repay me for favours. Sure, his ways were a little materialistic, since he'd buy me stuff, but it was still a sweet gesture on his part.
Liam tilted his head to the side in confusion. "You never hated me?" He asked, with a lot of scepticism.
I let out a deep sigh. "I tried to at one point, like really tried to, but just couldn't do it," I confessed.
My feelings for Liam were a bit too overpowering, and when it got to that stage, I just tried to hate him to make it easier on me. However, that didn't work. I just ended up falling harder.
Liam cupped my face in his hands. "Please don't ever hate me, Rena," he asked so desperately.
"I might be stupid, selfish, and an idiot and so completely oblivious at times, that you'll want to hit me-," I let out a snort, "-which is fine, but please don't hate me. I don't think I could take it. I'll love you like no other, and you'll never want for another. You'll have my heart and soul forever, and for every day you've loved me and I didn't know, I'll love you even more," Liam poured out his heart to me.
I smiled and held his hands in my own, before moving them away and instead placing a kiss on his of his hands.
"Liam, I could never not love you, which I think was the problem with me," I laughed my words, whilst Liam frowned.
Kissing his hands once more, I smiled again. "You've had my heart, for as long as I can remember. I've wanted you for you for so long, I still can't believe I finally have you."
Liam turned his hands, that were in my hold, and held my wrists. He tugged at me, until I was sitting right in his lap.
"You have me, now and forever," he said, but it sounded a lot more like a promise.
I couldn't help but smirk, and then looped my arms around his neck.
"And if I don't want you anymore?" I asked.
Liam held me closer and leaned towards my ear. "I'll just have to try my hardest to convince you, to keep me around," he whispered, and before I knew it, his lips were on mine again.
Let's be honest, it really wasn't going to be all that hard for him to convince me, especially if he was going to try like this.
After so many sunsets, it was like the sun had finally risen on us.
Our new dawn. Our new start.
