《AMOUR》Chapter 46.

I woke up to some stirring and half opened my eyes to see Denver getting in the sheets. The clock in the room reads 9:04 am.

"Sorry," he whispers and I just smile at him, closing my eyes again as he kisses my forehead and I snuggle back into Jordan's arms.

The next time I wake up, it's around noon. I realize I won't be sleeping anymore and slip out of the web we created. I pick my phone up from the bedside table to see mom's text. She texted about the already prepared taco bar and where everything is.

I took a shower as quietly one can take a shower and change into a t-shirt dress. Toronto is more roads while Vancouver has more trees so it's going to be extra hot.

I come out of the washroom to see Denver up and cringe at the thought of waking him up. Jordan is still asleep so he follows me out of the room without saying anything.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you," I apologize when we go down the stairs.

"You didn't, I just take time in adjusting to a new place," be explains and I nod.

"Hungry?" I ask as he takes a seat on the island.

"God, yes," he dramatically says and I chuckle, taking out the rice and beans.

Once I've heated up the soft tacos and the chicken filling, I line up all sorts of toppings on the island, knowing everyone would be hungry once they wake up.

We silently get to eating. Both of us sitting right next to each other. I notice Denver being awfully quite and I can't help but think if he doesn't like something. One of our parent? This house? His room? Toronto? Does he not like it here? Wh-

"Roya, stop thinking, my brain is hurting just looking at you," Denver interrupts my thoughts and I smile at him, murmuring a quite 'sorry' as I add cilantro to my taco.

"What are you thinking about?" He asks, taking a huge bite.

"You," I blurt out.

"What about me?" He asks, amused I admitted this in the first place.

"Do you.." I stop but then decide that this is a good time to ask this since we already started the topic, "Do you not like it here?" I ask, seriously and his smile drops.

"What? Of course I like it here," he says, confused.

"You just seem distant, like there's something keeping you away," I say exactly what was on my mind.

"Roya-"

"Morning peoples," Ian stretches coming down the stairs, interrupting Denver.

"It's noon Saunders," I tell him and he just flips me off.

I scoff at him and get up to bring him a plate. He takes a seat opposite to us and starts making his taco.

"So what are we doing today?" I ask, knowing that Denver won't be able to tell me anything so it's better to use the time for other stuff.

"I was thinking about chilling at the house and then a dinner with the folks and then sleep so we can start things from tomorrow," Ian explains.

"Sounds good," I hum, "I'll check the store room for games once everyone is up and then we can head in the basement," I suggest and Ian nods.

Just then another set of footsteps is heard coming down the stairs. We turn to see Jordan heading our way with ruffled hair.

"How long have you all been up?" He comes up next to us and asks.

"Not long," Denver shakes his head.

Jordan takes the seat on my other side and drags my plate in between us, already taking a huge bite of the taco I just made.

"Williams, how hard is it to make a taco?" I grit my teeth at him, our eyes meeting.

"Pretty easy actually," he muses, smirking.

"Then make one yourself," I narrow my eyes at him and drag my plate in front of me but he holds the other side and doesn't let it slide to me.

"But your tacos taste so good," he pouts at me. Yes. He did that.

"I didn't even make anything here, you just need to mix the stuff together," my voice raises a little higher as my temper gets thinner.

"But you mix it up perfectly, it's spicy but not too spicy and everything is just the right amount," he raises his hand as if he himself can't believe it.

"You make it sound so dramatic man," Denver chuckles and I shake my head, picking up a new taco to make in the plate that still isn't in front of me.

"Dude try it, you'll do the same," Jordan suggests.

"No, make your own," I warn but the look they all give me makes me pick up three more tacos to make altogether.

Once we're all stuffed, we clean up our plates and I refill whatever bowls got empty just as Dave entered looking fully awake.

"Right on time, self service," I say, placing a plate for him and another for Anna for whenever she wakes up.

"Ah, mexican," Dave dreamily sighs and digs in.

"So," I turn to the guys who are looking for beverages in the double doored fridge.

"Yeah?" They all say in unison, picking up the cans they like.

"Firstly, there is a mini fridge in the basement and secondly, Ian you need to wake Anna up," I cross my arms in front of me.

At this, they close the fridge with single drinks in hand and Ian is the first one to turn around and look at me with a horrid expression.

"Do you want me to die woman? You wake her up," he says.

"Do you want me to die Saunders? The chances of you dying are lower than mine," I state as if it's a scientific fact.

"N-"

"Hey kids, just wanted to check in," the familiar voice of Amy cuts Ian off.

"Yes! Perfect timing!" Ian smiles at Jordan's mom, "we're all gonna head downstairs and all you need to do is wake Anna up," Ian says and rushes to the stairs that lead to the basement on the left side of the living room.

Amy chuckles, patting my head as we all head downstairs except for Dave. Once Dave joins us we look around the small store in there for games and settle on darts. After an intense match between Denver and Jordan and Ian and Dave, the winners play me. I'm pretty good at darts. Not an expert but I can match their level. In fact, Jordan sucks at it. Anna comes downstairs just as me and Dave our competing to see who finally wins.

"Oh, 301, count me in for next round," Anna sinks in the couch next to Ian. The basement is a large room with random stuff from a play station to a pool table and couches around a coffee table in front of the screen. Basically, it's a hangout. There's a bar on one corner and a washroom and store on the other.

Once Dave wins, we start the matches again and I play Anna this time. In between we got called for dinner and when we went upstairs we found boxes of pizza stacked on the kitchen island as Mark and Bob were pouring wine. The dinner went pretty well. Everyone talked and shared stories as if this was something that happened everyday. Although, this time I noticed both Denver and Dave being quieter than usual. Jordan noticed it too because he left my side to sit with them.

As we said night to the parents when they decided it was time for them to leave, I couldn't help but notice how Dad's arm was around Mom's shoulder. This made me smile and my heart felt lighter.

"So, I wanted to ask if you guys have been here before?" Ian looked at Dave and Denver.

"Yeah, a couple times but we didn't see much, so treat us like first time tourists," Dave answers.

"Perfect, we're going to Wonderland tomorrow," He claps his hands together.

"Yes! I haven't been there in forever," Anna squeals.

"I know, the last time we went was in what? Highschool?" I think.

"Perfect, Wonderland it is," Jordan steps next to me.

"How are we travelling?" I ask, knowing it is a solid hour ride.

"I was thinking two cars? I can drive one and Jordan can drive the other?" Ian suggests, looking at Jordan for assurance who nods at him.

"Cool, be ready by 10 tomorrow, and goodnight," Ian drags Anna with her as we chuckle.

"I'm gonna head up to, I got a phone call to make," Dave says and leaves us thinking.

Denver stands there, tensed after Dave's statement and I turn to him, slowly taking his hands in mine.

"What's wrong Den?" I frown. Jordan also stands besides us, looking at him.

Denver sighs, looking down at our hands first and then back up to me before turning to his left to look at Jordan. After some seconds he finally speaks up.

"He's going to call Dad," he states and I nod, asking him to continue silently.

"Dad has a branch of his company here so I'm sure he's going to give Dave and I work to do," he says and I squeeze his hand, knowing whatever this is, is serious.

"We love it here, we really do. It's just that we never knew this is how families are supposed to be," he closes his eyes, "we never really had a childhood, our parents sure provided for us and took care of us but they weren't there for the normal stuff, things a parent and kid does together," he takes a moment.

"Whenever we were together, they only talked about work and how we should learn about the business too and we were just kids who wanted to please them so they would spend time with us but they never did, they never really loved us" he says and my heart breaks.

I wrap my arms around him and rest my head on his chest, "I love you," I tell him, "and I know a parent's love is different but I love you so much that I would fucking adopt you right now if I could," I try making the situation lighter. He doesn't want to go in the details and we respect that.

They both laugh lightly at my statement and I smile at the mixed sound.

"I love you," Den sighs kissing my forehead just as Jordan kisses the back of my head repeating the same words.

I look up at Den and he leans down to kiss me softly. Our lips meet so gently and they melt together in the most perfect way. I feel a hand traveling up my thigh and squirm at the feeling. When the hand reaches my ass under the t-shirt and pulls at my panties, only to leave it to snap back at my pussy, I gasp in the kiss. Denver enters his tongue in my mouth and I have to go against my hear to break it off.

"Room," is all I managed to whisper and we make our way to the stairs.
