《AMOUR》Chapter 36.

I wake up and all the things that happened yesterday hit me as I realize there's only one person sleeping next to me. I'm in Denver's arms this time, my face over his chest as he holds me close. There's no Jordan to hold me to his chest.
I look at the time and it's 11am. My eyes widen at how late I'm waking up. I try to move but Denver's hold tightens. There's this ache in my heart because Jordan did the same.
"Denver," I whisper in my morning voice, "it's 11 in the morning," I tell him.
"I don't give a fuck Roya, stay here," he rasps and pulls me closer, placing his chin over my head.
I sigh and stop moving. I don't want to go outside. I'll have to deal with Ian and Anna and I need a break from everything. I just wanted to be free in this summer break but it all just collapsed.
"How are you?" Denver kisses my head and asks.
I open my mouth to tell him I'm fine but then I think about it. Am I really fine? No.
"I don't know.." I trail off, "I feel empty but I also feel heavy, like someone's putting weight over my heart. Does that make sense?" I scrunch up my nose at the weird explanation I gave and tilt my head to look up at Denver. He's looking at me softly, with all the love he has for me and it makes me smile.
"It does," he kisses my forehead and moves one of his hands in my hair.
"We eventually need to go out you know," Denver states after a few minutes of silence.
"You're the one who stopped me," I scoff, moving out of his hold.
When I came out of the washroom, Ian was in the kitchen making breakfast. Probably for me and Anna was sitting on the counter, facing me. Ian turned around with a plate of scrambled eggs, hash brown and toast and placed it on the counter for me. I took a seat and Denver joined me, now wearing his clothes from last night.
I didn't move to eat. No one said anything. A minute later, Ian leaned over the counter, in front of me and I looked up in his eyes. They were concerned and angry.

"Just give me a name Roya," he asked, his forehead creased in worry.
"Jordan," I said, my voice just over a whisper.
Ian's eyes widened and he kept looking in between Denver and me.
"What the fuck did he do?!" he asked, furious and confused and hurt at the same time.
Anna got off the counter and hugged Ian from the side, although she herself was worried, she was trying to calm him and I gave her a thankful look for that. Denver placed his hand on my thigh and I looked at him. He wanted me to tell Ian everything.
"Remember the bet Ryan made with a bunch of people about cheating on me?" I asked, my voice a little more confident.
"I don't think I can forget it," Ian scoffed.
"Jordan was in on it," I say and I watch as Ian's eyes change emotions from disbelief to pain to anger.
"He betted at the party that I would never find out about Ryan's hookups," I tell him and hold Denver's hand for support. I'm not sure how long I can have my tough exterior on.
"I'm going to fucking kill him," Ian nearly growls as he rushes to the door. Anna holds him back as I step in front of him.
"No! No," I tell him, "just- please don't do anything," my voice becomes weaker with each word.
"He fucked up Roya!" Ian yells, moving his hand through his hair.
"I know he did!" I yell as tears fall out, "I'm just asking you to not say anything to him," I sniffle.
Ian looks at me with a broken expression and in the next second, I'm in his arms, crying. He holds me in his own brotherly hug that I craved and I cry as much as I can. When I'm better, I lean back and give a pleading look to Ian.
"Fine, I'll not hurt him," Ian mumbles.
I give him a small smile just as the door to the apartment opens and Jordan walks in.
Does no one fucking lock doors around here?!
His eyes are red and he looks tired. He's wearing joggers and a t-shirt as he steps forward but Denver stands in front of him. Jordan stops and looks at Ian, both of them staring at each other. Jordan has a frown on his face while Ian has anger, his jaw clenched.

Ian leaves me and takes a few steps to stand in front of Jordan. Without missing a beat or saying anything, Ian lands a punch on his face.
"Ian!" Anna and I say in unison.
"I deserved that," Jordan raises his one hand while the other held the side of the face that got punched.
"Yeah," Denver says before landing his own punch on the other side of Jordan's face.
"And that," Jordan states before hissing in pain.
"Get the fuck out Williams," Ian sternly orders.
"I need to talk to Roya," Jordan groans out, still in pain from the harsh punches making me wince.
"No fucking way, get out!" Ian points to the door as him and Denver keep standing in front of Jordan, blocking his way. Jordan looks up at me and our eyes lock. His are pleading me to let him stay, to talk to him while mine are fighting to make him go or to listen to him.
"I'll go if that's what Roya wants," Jordan says, still looking at me. Everyone is now looking at me. Fucking great.
Anna comes up to my side and hugs me, whispering, "You don't have to agree babe, you can choose you this time."
I look up at her with a sad smile. She understands and turns to Ian, "Ian, inside. Now," she says and Ian glares at Jordan once but eventually let's Anna drag her to their room. I'm pretty sure they'll be eavesdropping.
I walk up to the fridge and pull out two cans of soda, handing them to Jordan so he can put them on his face. We settle at the kitchen island and I step back into Denver's arms for support as Jordan sits on the opposite side.
"I am so sorry Roya," he starts, "I know I fucked up and there really isn't a particular reason I did it. I was drunk and I was pissed and I really wanted you guys to break up. Call it being selfish or stupid or an asshole but I couldn't see you with anyone else," he looks down.
"You weren't drunk the next day, or the day after that, or the day after that," I point out. At this point, I'm more mad than I'm hurt.
"I know and it was so wrong of me and I know I should've told you about what he was doing but honestly, I didn't know until you figured out that he cheated," he looks up at me.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"Sure I added in at the party that you won't find out but after that I was never in on the circle's plans. I never got to know if Ryan was cheating or not, I just knew he was going to," he runs his hand through his hair.
"But a warning would've been nice?" Denver asks and I'm thankful because I didn't know what to say.
"I know dude and I would do anything to make up for it," he looks at me, still holding the cans to his face with hope in his eyes.
It's not that easy. He's looking at me like I'll forget how he just knowingly hurt me. It's not easy because he had so many chances to tell me but he didn't. If I forgive him now, he can hold the power to hurt me again and again and again. I can't break again. There's too many people that I've lost, what's one more? But if I let him in again, he can walk away again.
"Say something Roya," Jordan pleads.
"I can't," I say, "I can't get hurt again," I say clearer and Denver's hold on me tightens. Jordan's eyes go dull and all the hope in them vanishes.
He nods, placing the cans down. "I get it," he says, his voice on the edge of cracking.
"I'm sorry," he whispers as he looks up at me again, both of our eyes glossy. Denver kisses the back of my head, soothing me a little.
"Just know this Roya," Jordan says, clearing his throat, "I'll always be here, there's no one who can take your place in my life. It'll always be you," he walks up to me and gently kisses my forehead. I shake my head in a nod, looking down. Jordan gives Denver a nod which I think he returns and walks up to the door.
With a last glance at me and Denver, he smiles softly through his glossy eyes and walks out.
And just like that, he's gone.
