《AMOUR》Chapter 6.

I'm just gonna thank lords for this moment. Standing here, this late in Krispy Kreme, I never thought I would meet Roya for the second time in the same day, leave alone order the last piece of the donut she wants before her. I need to thank Dave for his sudden Krispy Kreme cravings once we go home.

Some kind of realization flashes in her eyes after a moment and she just stares at me intensely. There's a light tint of pink taking over her cheeks.

"You're the library guy." She states.

I nod. Okay so does she remember my name or not?

"Denver." She says.

She remembers. Thank god.

I nod at her chuckling. "So, sour dough huh?" I say pointing towards the last piece laying there, waiting to be picked up by one of the servers.

"Okay so I told you where the library was this morning, which means you owe me one. I get the donut." She states as if it was obvious.

"Oh no no no, you pointed towards the way you thought the library was in. What if it was the wrong way and I got late because of you?" I state as a possibility.

Uncertainty and regret flashes in her eyes and then she turns towards Ian standing behind her.

"Ian, the direction you went in after walking me to starbucks, was that where the library was?" She asks him hopefully.

"I told you I was going to the library so why would I walk on some other path?" He says in amusement and Roya glares at him. She is hotter when she's angry.

"Yup, the library was that way." He says quickly raising his hands in surrender.

"Thought so." She turns to me with a smile. Her eyes have a certain twinkle.

"I get it." She says to her server.

"Nopes." I say and her server stops again finding this amusing.

"I ordered first." I say, proud of my quick facts.

"Ughh fine!" She huffs.

"I'll get the original glazed." She says to her server who looks at me in disappointment.

Okay. Maybe I went a little too far.

When its time to pay I tell the girl behind the counter to pack the sour dough donut in a different box along with a few other donuts and ask her to give it to the next customer and head out.

I walk towards my car where Dave is waiting and hand him the donuts from the window because he won't let me in without checking first.

"Nice." He grins unlocking the car and I open the door to get in.

"Wait!" I hear the same intoxicating voice from before and turn to find Roya rushing towards me with the box of donuts in her hand. The light wind making her open hair tease her face.

I smile looking at her. God she's beautiful.

"You didn't have to do that, original ones taste good too, here." she says handing out the box to me.

"Come on, we both know nothing beats sour dough." I say smirking and she laughs.

Music to my fucking ears.

"True, wanna split?" She offers.

I was about to refuse when Ian walks towards us with a girl.

"Whoa buddy, now that's a deal I would never say no to." He says offering me his hand, "Ian." He introduces himself.

"Sure then, splitting it is." I say looking at Roya and she smiles. "Denver." I say shaking Ian's hand.

"You go to UBC?" He asks and I nod.

"Soccer?" He asks.

"Basketball?" I nod and ask back.

He chuckles and nods.

A throat clears from behind me and I forgot Dave was here. I turn around and look at him watching us all with amusement.

"Oh this is Dave, my older brother, final year UBC." I say introducing him.

"Hey everyone, Ian." He says raising his hand from the steering wheel and nodding at Ian. Of course he knows him. Captains of soccer and basketball.

"Well since everyone is introducing themselves, I'm Anna, second year, UBC." The girl next to Ian says.

"Now that we all know who everyone is, Roya, care to explain how you know Denver?" Ian says raising a brow at Roya. I can feel the brother instincts kicking in for him.

"He asked me the directions to the library this morning at Starbucks." Roya says and Ian and Dave look at me with narrowed eyes. Ian has seen me before and Dave definitely knows that I very well know where the library is and that I won't really visit it.

I try to keep my expressions neutral as if they both aren't trying to read my mind through my skull.

"Okay." Ian nods and Roya then hands me the half donut.

"Wait, let's eat together since we all obviously love donuts." I will literally kiss Dave once we go home. Him suggesting this was a relief. I would've just looked creepy while asking this.

The three of them look at each other having a mental conversation and then shrug agreeing to the offer. We all set the donuts and shakes on the front hood of our car and dig in.

"You guys from here?" I ask them after a while of eating.

"Toronto." Ian replies with a mouth full of donut just like everyone else.

Dave and I nod.

"You guys?" Roya asks.

"Here." I reply.

They all nod.

We chat and eat some more and I couldn't help but notice how even the normal things Roya does look graceful. Like tucking her hair behind her ear or licking the caramel from her lips. Then when we're clearing everything up, I suggest, "You guys should come to this beach gathering on the weekend if you're not going home."

"What beach?" Anna asks.

"Whiterock." I say and they agree.

"Cool. Saturday. Usually starts around 6 and goes on till-" I pause thinking about when our gatherings end.

"Forever?" Roya asks smiling.

"You could say that." Dave chuckles.

"Alright, we'll see you all on Saturday." She says and moves towards Ian and Anna.

We say our goodbyes and head home.

Through the car ride home, Dave kept glancing at me. When we stopped at a red light I couldn't handle it anymore.

"What?" I ask turning towards him.

"Nothing." He shrugs.

"Say it." I don't take my eyes off him.

"Just trying to figure out your motives." He says casually focusing on the road.

"My motives?" I question even though I know what he means.

"Yes, your motives." He says as if it's very obvious.

"Why?" Why does he care?

"You never invite anyone randomly to our group gatherings." He states.

"They seem like good people." I try to act calm cause I don't know what kind of answer he's expecting.

"They are." He sighs.

"You know them?" I raise a brow at him.

"Ian and I have met a couple of times regarding sports. He's really good at basketball, handles the team well, never shows off. Seen Anna with him a couple times too." He says driving down the road.

"So-" He pauses and I know what's coming, "Roya huh?" he finishes.

"What about her?" I act casual. I swear he can see right through me right now.

"Nothing, seems nice." He says smirking.

"Yeah." I nod.

"So you don't know where the library is?" I knew he would ask that. Yup. I'm caught.

"Wait, you wanted to willingly go to the library?" He says correcting himself and raising a brow at me.

"Well considering the amount of times I've been there, I won't really know where it is?" I say still unsure if he's gonna buy it or not.

"Oh quit it Den, that was the worst question to make conversation." He chuckles parking the car in our garage.

"The only thing that came in my mind, plus made me look kind of intelligent." I say smirking.

He scoffs and we both get out.

"She's different and kind, don't do something stupid." He says seriously.

"Yes boss." I say heading in.
