It was a long day waiting for the shit that was gonna be heading our way. Amanda arrived right on time.
"Colby," she said rushing over to hug me. She latched on and I hugged back.
"Oh Colbs, the energy from you," she said softly, holding my face in her hands as if searching for something in my eyes.
"Yeah I am working on it," I said, pulling back a bit, "Sorry...."
"No no, it's not you...." she said then pulled my chain a bit to reveal Jen's ring. She smiled, holding it for a moment.
"You got it back," she whispered, with a gentle smile, then tucked it back into my sweater.
"Yeah about three days ago..." I said. She peered behind me.
"She's attached to it.." she whispered tears in her eyes.
"Is she here?" I asked.
"Behind you, tears in her eyes, she hates seeing you hurting..." she said.
"Yeah, we figured that out last night...." I said, "She was a bit angry with me.."
"So you've talked to her?" she asked, gently.
"Sort of," I nodded, closing my eyes over wanting to feel Jen's presence.
"Thru Estes?" she asked. I nodded again and sadly still nothing. I didn't have Amanda's gift.
"You didn't believe her at first, did you?" she asked. I shook my head opening my eyes to see the sadness in hers.
"Yeah she said she was struggling to get thru," she said, taking my hand in hers.
"She can feel your pain," she said softly.
"So do we have to go back there?" I asked. She looked behind me.
"Yes, she wants to," she said with a smile, "She needs to remember her happiest moment before she moves on."

"But will she? or will she stick around? she said she had to help me," I said.
"I don't know... I really don't know..." she said honestly.
"I just wish I could give her the wedding she wanted... a white dress, me in a tux... I wanted a family with her so badly...." I said softly.
"I know Colbs, I know," she said hugging me, "You ready to go?"
"Yeah, I am ready to go," I said and turned to Sam who was just watching us quietly. He nodded and we grabbed our things. We went to the vehicle and we all drove together. I didn't know what was waiting for us, but I was ready to try and help Jen cross over.
When we reached the park I immediately spotted the place it happened. It was covered with flowers photos and stuffies! I was confused. I didn't put any of that there. I hadn't been there since it happened.
When we got out I went over slowly to look at the spot where I lost her. I remembered giving her CPR right under that lamp post.
I remember the ambulance showing up, pulling me off to check her and try again, but once they checked her pulse they shook their heads and called the time of death.
~~~~~~
I immediately began fighting against them and pulled her into my arms sobbing and holding her to me.
"Come on babe wake up... please don't leave me..." I begged.
"Mr. Brock, she's gone, you have to let go," the head paramedic said.
"No no please not yet!!" I begged, "not yet... we can't stop!!!"
~~~~~~
I shook off the memories and leaned down to look at the things left for her. One teddy had a ribbon sash over its shoulder.

"In memory of Jennifer Brock"
They used what would have been her married name. It made tears well up in my eyes. I sat down in front of the memorial tears welling in my eyes.
"She's here...." Amanda said softly.
"I know I feel her!!" I whispered softly resting my hand on my shoulder. I swear I felt someone touch me, but no one's hand was there but mine. I whimpered a bit. I knew it was her trying to comfort me.
"Jen... you need to cross my love, you can't stay here...." I whimpered.
"She doesn't want to leave yet.... she's worried about you," Amanda said sitting down beside me.
"Baby girl, I get that, but staying here is gonna make it harder for you to move forward, I can't move on if you're still contacting me, it's gonna make it harder to work on moving forward..." I said sadly, trying to fight the tears from falling.
"She doesn't want to go where she can't be close to you..." Amanda said.
"We need to Estes, you're gonna wear yourself out," Sam said, rubbing Amanda's back.
"Okay..." she said softly, and Sam took a seat. We got the hardware on his head. and I sat beside him.
"J... I need you to let go.... and move on..." I said softly.
"No... never..." sam said, his voice almost sounding angry.
"I can't have you with me when I am working, it's interfering with our investigations. I'll have to leave the ring at home..." I said.
"That's okay," Sam said with a shrug.
"Okay, then I'll find a place to keep it safe..." I promised. he sat straight up and his fists tightened.
"Will behave," he said, "Done talking...."
"Are you leaving?" I asked. No response. She was mad because I asked her to leave. I sighed and tapped him on the shoulder to pull him out of his focus. He removed the headphones.
"She seemed mad..." he said gently.
"Yes, I asked her not to follow me to work. it was interfering with our investigations..." I said.
"Oh damn, I guess huh?" he said gently. We got things put away and we all made sure to leave some more flowers and things before we left.
I left a photo of the two of us together, with the teddy with her married name. I even had Sam take a photo of me with her memorial, so I could thank fans later on for their dedication.
"I love you, angel.... so much, I'm not gonna forget our love, ever...." I said softly.
"She's not here anymore," Amanda said, "She looked so sad leaving, but she's gonna hang around but just not bother you...." We finished up at her site and I got myself back into the car and allowed myself to break down. She sat in the back with me and rubbed my back.
"I'm right here for you," she promised. I let my tears soak into my sweater. I had to get her ring put up, maybe even set it in a box by her photo. It would be safer staying at home. I just hope Jen respected my wishes till she was ready to move on. I loved her so damn much and I didn't want to let her go, but we knew what happened to spirits who stayed too long. All I wanted was freedom to heal but not with her turning into a vengeful spirit.
