My name is Cole Robert Brock, but you may know me as Colby, from my YouTube channels and my paranormal investigations and crazy antics with my buddy Sam. I grew up in a small town in Kansas. Thanks to my parents I turned out I think decent-looking, with dark hair, blue eyes, and dimples. My mom used to call me the lady killer of the family. Sadly I feel like recently this happened all too literally. In May 2018 I met the love of my life, Jennifer. She was beautiful, with dark auburn hair almost to her waist, and beautiful green eyes. She was only five foot three compared to my five foot eleven.

On November 13th, 2021 Jennifer was murdered in a hold-up on our way home from our engagement dinner, only two blocks from our apartment. I had proposed to her, she had said yes, and our celebration ended with a gunshot to her abdomen. The man held us at gunpoint, demanding her ring, but she refused to give it up. He demanded only once more and tried to take it from her. IN the struggle the gun went off and shot her in the abdomen. The man grabbed the ring and took off, leaving me to hold her in my lap, using my shirt to try and stop the bleeding, all while calling 911 in a panic.

The ambulance took ten minutes to arrive, leaving me trying to stop the bleeding and trying to do CPR at the same time, by the time the ambulance arrived, Jennifer's body had stilled under me, her eyes frozen in place. I thought she was just in shock, but the paramedics pulled me back, checked her pulse, and shook their heads. She died because I couldn't save her. That guilt has lived with me since that very day.

That man was caught only a few days later trying to pawn her engagement ring, which was kept for the trial as evidence. On May 3rd, 2022 it was returned to me and that's when the biggest adventure of my life began. And I can't wait to tell you about how I truly was able to let go.

I am so excited about this story, this is the first story in a LONG time I will be writing by myself without a co-writer. The paranormal world completely fascinates me, and I was inspired to write this after a pretty intense dream. I hope you will all stick around to read this story.
