Jack
Everyone watched in shock as Troy and Zack pushed two giant wolves into the operating room.
"Oh my gosh." I said amazed.
They were the biggest wolves I have ever seen in my entire life.
"T-these are wolves?" I asked.
Troy nodded. "Heavy as fuck too."
The brown wolf growled slightly.
"Be thankful he brought you in here." I said to the wolf.
Micah put the gloves on my hands after I washed them.
"Okay. Start the IV." I instructed Micah.
She nodded and quickly grabbed the needle.
The brown wolf winced.
The blonde colored wolf winced as well when Micah put it in him too.
"Both boys." I mumbled as I checked them over.
I walked up to the blonde wolf and placed my hands on him.
I felt around his body to check his bones.
"Broken leg." I said to Micah. "And a couple deep wounds. I'm gonna need a splint and cast material."
"Got it." Micah said as she ran to the other side of the room.
"Troy. Hand me the disinfectant." I said.
Troy grabbed everything and laid it on the table.
I opened it and grabbed the spray.
"I'm sorry little guy." I whispered.
I sprayed it and started to clean his wound.
He howled and started to thrash.
"Hold still or I will castrate you." I threatened.
The wolf immediately stopped and whimpered.
I put some numbing cream on the cut so I could sew him up.
"Critter. Needle." I said while applying the cream.
Critter ran over and carefully picked up the needle and the stitches.
After sewing up the cut and finished cleaning it, Micah came back with what I asked for.
"Okay. Guys hold him down." I said walking up to his leg. "I'm gonna have to re-break his leg if he wants it to heal properly."
The blonde wolf whimpered and everyone held him down.
"I'm sorry." I said right before I pulled.
Crack!
The wolf howled in pain and everyone cringed.
The wolf slumped down on the table and started to breathe heavily.
"I know I know." I whispered with a smiles as I put the oxygen mask on him. "You're gonna be okay. I promise."
The wolf looked up at me and I looked at him confused.

He was giving me this weird look.
I couldn't decipher it.
I petted his head and put the splint and cast on his leg.
"All done." I mumbled to myself. "Troy. Put him in the healing room. Find a cage that is big enough for him."
Troy laughed and nodded.
I turned to the brown wolf.
He was beautiful.
He fur was shiny and soft and his eyes were a beautiful gold. It matched his fur perfectly.
I placed my hands on his body and I gasped.
I quickly retracted my hands and took a step back.
I watched amazed as his gold eyes shined brighter and his pupils dilated.
I'm just imaging these things. I did not just feel sparks from a wolf.
I put my hands back and tried to ignore the amazing sparks.
The hell?
I sighed and got to work.
Of course he had a broken leg too.
Re-breaking it was a nightmare.
This wolf was a lot stronger and slightly bigger than the other wolf.
He also had a lot more cuts too.
After cleaning out his wound, I petted his head.
"You'll be okay." I smiled down at him. "I promise. You need to get some rest."
I stood back amazed as the wolf's golden eyes started into mine.
It was like he was reading my soul.
He looked at me with love.
Dafuq?
I shook it off and motioned Zack over.
"Please take him to where the other wolf is." I said.
Zack nodded and wheeled the wolf out.
The wolf watched me until he couldn't see me anymore.
"Good job. Like usual." Micah smiled.
"Thanks." I mumbled as I looked at the door swinging back and forth before it finally stopped.
"You okay Jack?" She asked worried.
I snapped out of it and looked at her. "Ya. I was just worried. Those cuts were pretty deep. They both had a lot of them too. I'm surprised they didn't bleed to death."
Micah laughed as we walked out past the cleaning crew. "Are you kidding me? You're Jack. As in never-lost-a-patient-Jack. You can heal anything."
I laughed and nodded. "I'm just glad they are okay."
Micah and I both jumped as Zack and Troy barged into the waiting room.
"They are gone!" Zack yelled.
"What do you mean they are gone?" I asked as I ran up to them.
"The wolves." Troy said worried. "They disappeared."
"How the hell do giant wolves just disappear?" I asked getting mad.

"I don't know. Zack and I left them in the room to go get the water. We walked back in the room and bam! No wolves!" Troy explained.
I felt like screaming.
I pushed past him and ran to the healing room with Micah on my tail.
I opened the door and stood there staring at the small patch of blood on the floor.
"What the hell!" I yelled.
"You need to calm down." Micah said quickly.
"Calm down? Those two wolves are seriously injured. They won't survive out in the wild yet." I said worried. "I can't those them."
"I don't think you will. They are humorous. I think they will survive." Micah said calmingly.
I sighed, but the window caught my eye.
I walked over to it and saw that it was broken from the inside.
"Who jumped through the window?" I asked.
"No one." Troy said. "Zack and I were the only ones in here."
"Weird." I muttered. "We need to fix that."
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
I sighed as I sunk into the chair at my kitchen island.
"This was such a stressful day." I mumbled to Critter as he ate supper. "I can't believe I lost two giant wolves."
Critter came over and cuddled up against my neck.
I lifted my head up and picked him up in my arms.
"Thank you." I smiled.
He purred and rested his head under my chin.
But that was cut short when I heard growled and scratching on my back door.
Critter jumped out of my arms and stood up on his hind legs and growled at the kitchen window that leads to my backyard.
And of course my backyard is also the woods.
Just great.
I heard scratching on my door and squeaked in fear.
It sounded like my door would break any second and my shot gun was upstairs.
No time to get that.
So I went to plan B.
I ran to my cabinet and grabbed a frying pan.
Critter gave me the are-you-serious look
"Hey! If it worked for the mom in Emperor's New Groove and for Rapunzel in Tangled, then it will work for me." I shot back at him.
I clutched the frying pan tighter and made my way to my back door.
"Critter. Go hide in your safe spot." I demanded as I neared the back door.
The scratching and growled was getting louder and I gulped in fear.
Critter ran over to me and jumped on my shoulder.
I sighed. Of course he would try to protect me.
I grasped the handled and counted to three before I opened it
I gave a warrior cry and started to hit whatever was on my back porch.
I stopped once I saw it was the two wolves that I fixed up today.
"Y-You!" I yelled as I dropped the frying pan to my side.
The wolves looked little dizzy and started to sway around.
"Shit." I mumbled. "Stay here. Let me get you guys some water."
I left my door open and ran to my kitchen.
I put the pan back and opened the cupboard.
"I'm gonna leave the knife drawer open. Just I case." I said as I pulled it open.
Okay. Not to find bowls for them.
"Can't use cereal bowl. Too small." I mumbled to myself.
Screw it.
I grabbed two giant popcorn bowl and filled them with water.
I carefully walked back and set them down in front of them.
They looked extremely happy and started to lap up the water right away.
I giggled and carefully sat down.
But I got really confused when I saw no cuts and no broken legs.
What the?
I decided to shrug it off and just be glad that they are both okay.
"I'm glad you guys are okay." I said suddenly.
They both stopped drinking the water and jumped towards me.
I laughed as they licked my face.
The brown wolf growled at the blonde wolf.
The blonde wolf rolled his eyes and stepped back away from me.
Critter jumped on my lap and hissed at the wolves.
It was his warning hiss. The you-better-back-off-before-I-kill-you hiss.
The brown wolf growled and I quickly grabbed Critter.
"Don't you dare growl at him." I said sternly as I narrowed my eyes at the wolf.
The blonde wolf let out a small wolf-like chuckle.
I thought I was hearing things so I ignored it.
The brown wolf whimpered and lowered his gaze.
I sighed. "I'm sorry for yelling at you. Just don't growl at Critter. He's just doing his job."
I smiled as I scratched Critter behind the ear and he started to purr.
The two wolves suddenly stood up and darted back towards the forest leaving me confused as hell.
Well. This was an interesting night.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things? Isabella Blair is perfect. She knows all your moves before you even make them. All your ambushes are faced with traps and she dodges all your blows like it’s child’s play. Catching her is impossible because she’s always ten steps ahead of you. She says she calculated everything, but she messes up in every fight. She loses far more than she wins, sometimes a hundred times for just one small victory. Yet, she is perfect. How is that possible, you may ask. That’s because she has the uncanny ability to return to the past whenever she makes a mistake. All that’s left in the end can only be what’s perfect if all the realities in which you’ve lost are gone, after all. And that makes for one hell of a terrifying profile. Crossposting on ScribbleHub, SpaceBattles, and Wattpad. Don't mind the "Pre-Rewrite" Volume. It is there for reference until the story catches up to the chapter count via the Rewrite (and to justify the current reviews as there would be no context to them otherwise). If you are a first-time reader, feel free to start from the other Volume.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. America, Europe, and Australia become even larger superpowers as their Alpha populations exploded, in time a United Nations force known as The Guardians was established to police and document the Alpha emergence. Now, in most civilized countries Alphas are required to be assessed the moment their powers manifest, or be in strict violation of local and international laws. In this Age of Heroes , The Guardians have designed a new Initiative to recruit younger Alphas and set them on a path to greatness.
