《His light in the dark [bxb]》Chapter - 19

5 years later...
It was a bit windy today. Clouds were flying in front of the sun, hiding the light and warmth it brought with it while a chilly breeze tousled Raya's hair out of his face. He stared out over the horizon, the beautiful warm colours from the sunset seeping through the grey clouds passing by and reflecting it on the small waves down below. He had seen better sunsets, if he had to be honest, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Lost in thought, he couldn't help but smile when footsteps were heard stepping closer before warm hands then met his skin. They made their way around his waist and stayed there while a chin placed itself onto his shoulder, a warm breath tickling his neck. "What are you thinking about?" That familiar voice softly asked, those pretty lips nipping at his jaw.
Raya sighed out slowly, his own hands finding the ones around him to hold onto. "Everything." The voice behind him hummed at that. "I'm just happy, and at peace, I suppose."
Everything changed so fast these last couple of years. Sometimes it was hard to digest or even think about what had happened. Not everything had gone well, of course, but they eventually made it. They found their happy place. And bit by bit they had been getting better physical, but also mentally. With all the nightmares and guilt of killing someone, it took awhile to fully understand and move on.
Raya turned around in the warm arms and stared up into those beautiful, onyx eyes he so adored. Lixian smiled down at him in return, his long hair pulled back into a messy bun showing his face. He leaned in and softly kissed his lips, so sweet and gentle that Raya couldn't help but follow them when they tried to leave. Lixian chuckled against his mouth and deepened it, cupping one of his human's cheeks to angle him better.
"You're distracting me again." Lixian mumbled after a few seconds. "I came to get you, supper's ready." He spoke between kisses.
"It can wait." Raya stubbornly said.
Lixian smirked, but did won over his willpower and held back. "I don't want it to get cold, let's go."
Raya pouted, which caused the demon's mouth to form into a pout as well. "I tried really hard on this one, I know it's gonna be good this time. I promise."
"You promising now? Well then, I guess we have to hurry up and see!" Raya said with a chuckle. He grabbed one of Lixian's hands and pulled the demon after him, laughing as he stumbled unsteadily at the sudden force.
The sand almost made them trip multiple times, but they safely made it to the end of the beach and onto the stone path. Raya screeched out as he was suddenly up in the air and wrapped in warm arms again, feet kicking around aimlessly while his arms looped around Lixian's neck in fear of falling. "Put me down!"
Lixian laughed as he held him closer, loving the ridiculous snort Raya let out as he tried to tickle the demon in hopes he would let go. "You little— Why aren't you ticklish?"
"Let's not be childish now, you already knew that fact." Lixian laughed, not wanting to admit he adored this side of Raya. It had been far too long since he last saw it. The way his cheeks coloured or that cute sound of his giggle he would let escape when he couldn't hold it in. It had been hard these last couple of years, but seeing how they are doing now, it may have been worth it after all.

He carried Raya all the way back into their cabin and placed him down onto the table, a silly smirk playing on the demon's lips when stepping in between those thighs. "Just wanted to hold you close for a bit." He reasoned softly, the playful twinkle in his eyes not going unnoticed.
"And then I'm the childish one..." Raya breathed out shaking his head, leaning closer so they could bump noses. He giggled again, seeing Lixian up close like this, and kissed him.
"Supper." Lixian reminded him once more, but got caught up in their shared kiss and the way those legs held him captive between them when pulling him closer. He hummed softly at the feeling of cold hands finding their way up under his shirt and shuddered at the contact, deepening the kiss.
Raya moaned quietly, his hands pulling the demon closer like he wasn't already plastered against his body. He held back just enough to pull the shirt over Lixian's head, their mouths finding each other immediately after in a hungry battle of tongue and teeth. Lixian grabbed Raya by his thighs and pulled him closer to the edge, his fingers groping the soft skin as he lost himself in the moment. They laughed while taking off their other garments, Raya struggling a bit as he still sat on top of the table. Lixian smiled and helped him, carefully pulling the shorts down his legs.
The demon sighed softly while caressing Raya's legs from his place on the ground, his eyes flickering up again to watch those brown orbs observe him with a warm smile. He kissed one of Raya's shins before sitting up onto his knees, his arms loosely looping around the older's waist as he gazed up at him with loving eyes. Raya chuckled and bent down to capture those lips again in a soft peck, his fingers memorising the curves of the demon's upper body as they made their way up to hold his jaw tenderly.
"I love you." He breathed out, their lips barely touching as they continued to stare into each other's eyes. "So, so much."
Lixian hummed, the vibrations of his comforting rumble felt through their touch. "I love you too." He breathed, eyes closing in pure bliss as he felt those long fingers comb through his hair, stubbornly pulling the leather string away so the long locks would fall onto his shoulders like Raya said he liked them to be. "Now about that supper—"
"Shut up." The human laughed, capturing the demon's lips in a heated kiss to silence him once and for all.
Lixian grinning stupidly as he held Raya close, his fingers sliding down his body as he detached his lips from Raya's. He nipped and kissed his way up, the older's breathing hitching as the demon bit the tender flesh of his inner thigh teasingly. Lixian looked up through his lashes when he came to a halt above the clothed erection, the wet stain and the hazy eyes that looked down at him giving away the neediness Raya must've been feeling. He silently asked with his eyes if he could go further and got a small nod in return, accompanied with him sucking in his lower lip to try and hold in some noises.
Lixian grinned again before slowly pulling the garment down, his tongue darting out to lick the exposed head teasingly as he did. Raya let out a strangled whine at that. His thighs squeezing Lixian's shoulders, though couldn't do much more when two hands held them in place, spreading them open instead. The demon hummed lowly before licking his way up from the base to the tip, his tastebuds withering at the salty and bitter taste of his lover's pleasure.

"Lix." Raya moaned softly, brows furrowed in a soft plea for Lixian to not tease him so much.
Lixian chuckled, but listened and took him into his mouth without warning, a strangled moan and a hand in his hair as a result.
His own started swelling as well, the tingling sensation spreading throughout his body and warming up his core. He moaned around Raya's cock, the sensual sounds of his mate turning him on even more.
He eventually let go with a soft pop, the red head of the older's cock glistering with saliva and pre-cum, softly smacking back against his stomach when he did. Raya whimpered at the loss of warmth, but quickly let out a yelp instead as his legs were pushed up and over Lixian's shoulders, the demon's lips already making their way down towards his puckering and awaiting hole.
While getting him ready, the demon couldn't help but tug at his own dick. His eyes watching the older in pure bliss underneath him. He felt his demon side pressing forward at seeing him like this, so beautifully laying there, he couldn't help the raising heart and the hardening of his cock. He moaned softly when his thumb rubbed over his own slit, the pre-cum creating a smooth but intense pleasure.
He stood back up when he knew Raya was ready and pulled the older closer to the edge of the table by the inside of his knees, the head of his cock perfectly aligning with Raya's entrance. "Shit." Raya moaned lowly, his hips wiggling slightly to try and push down.
"Ah ah—" Lixian scolded playfully, his hands holding the naked hips still. "Not so patient today, are we?"
"No, so hurry up." Raya breathed out, his legs hugging the man closer, causing the pulsing cock of the younger to slip and miss. Raya whined, but was silenced with a steamy kiss instead.
"Fuck— You don't know what you do to me." Lixian groaned, one hand slipping between them to align his dick again before slowly pushing in. As Raya let out a long, throaty moan, Lixian couldn't help but bite down onto the human's shoulder. Smothering his own.
"Ah, fuck." Raya cursed again, the sound of slippery skin slapping against each other filling the room. Lixian's cock pulsed at the wet, tight feeling of his human around him and quickened his pace in pure bliss, thighs slamming against the table.
"Lix." Raya gasped, white dots filling his vision as that special place inside him was slammed into repeatedly. It got his back arching and toes curling with a strangling groan as he couldn't help but cry out.
"Come for me baby." Lixian hummed, one of his hands leaving their favourite place, being Raya's hips, to stroke Raya's cock instead. His dark orbs holding the older's captive as his lips parted in awe, his breathing almost coming to an halt as Raya came undone underneath him. The sight breathtakingly sexy.
As the walls around him tightened with Raya's orgasm, Lixian couldn't help himself from cumming as well. His lips nipped at the older's throat as his thrusts became erratical and sloppy, the body underneath him shaking with pleasure as he too came undone. The demon groaned and let his forehead rest against Raya's, his eyes slowly fluttering back open as a hand gently pushed away the hair from his face. Raya breathed out a chuckle before pecking him on the lips, though hissed slightly as the demon carefully moved out of him. "Shit."
"Your own fault." The demon grinned teasingly, nudging the human's cheek with his nose as they looked away with a pout. "You had to tease me, huh?"
"Whatever, let's get cleaned up." Raya huffed out with a laugh
"You know I'm right."
"And that's why I'm ignoring it. Now help me up you demon."
Lixian laughed at his sassy mate as he gently picked him up from the table, the human's lean body clinging onto his as he carried him to the tub into the other room.
"Let me fill it, stay here." Lixian hummed, quickly placing Raya down to fill the tub with some water, the taps of his feet the only sound echoing throughout their cabin. Raya smiled as he watched the demon walk back and forth a few times, his toes wiggling in anticipation as he wanted to cuddle up with his lover.
Lixian flicked his hand and the logs underneath the tin bath sparked to life, the small fire licking the wood as it heated up the water inside. Raya took the outstretched hand and followed the demon inside, his back gently leaning back to rest against Lixian's front, their legs intertwined as he sighed out in delight. Enjoying the warmth and arms wrapped around him in a loving embrace.
"Tell me if it get's too hot." Lixian mumbled against Raya's hair, his hands slowly rubbing Raya's belly and sides like he always did when enjoying a bath together.
"We can't sit for too long today, remember? Our friends will come over soon." Raya reminded them both.
"It's fine, they know how we are." The demon chuckled, nuzzling the human's head lightly.
Raya scoffed. "And who's fault is that?"
"You."
Raya sat up a little and turned around. "Excuse you, what are you talkin—"
"That one time when we went on one of their boats and—"
"Ok ok, only that one time."
"And that time when we went to that city a bit further up North and—"
"OK, I get it!" Raya cut off while turning back around, slowly feeling his face heat up at remembering all the times they were caught fooling around. "Whatever."
Lixian giggled a boyish laugh and kissed the side of the sulking human's head, pulling him closer to his chest. "I love you."
"Love you too." Raya grumbled, but the small smile creeping its way onto his lips gave him away.
After soaking in warm water for a while, they eventually made their way to the fireplace with clean clothes and freshly washed hair. Raya plopped down onto the rug and stirred the soup inside the pot, his nose inhaling deeply to take in the smell. He hummed, delighted, as he was met with a delicious smell of spices. "It does smell promising, I have to admit."
"And it would've been warm and ready to go if it wasn't for a certain someone to distract us." Lixian shot back while walking back into the room to place himself next to the human. Raya ignored the pointed look shot his way and instead watched in wonder as Lixian sparked the fire back up with his powers.
The cabin they now owned wasn't as big as the last one, but still got all the resources to live a comfortable and happy life. They both weren't picky, so when they made some new friends in town close by and told them they were searching for a place to stay, they all immediately offered to help them out. Knowing some empty places which went for small prices. But since Lixian and Raya hadn't had much money at all, they immediately offered to help build one. So you can say this little cabin had a special place in their hearts.
"When was Malis coming over again? Was that tomorrow?" Lixian questioned half way through their dinner. Raya thought for a second, chewing his bite until he could speak.
"Pretty sure it's in two days from now."
"Is she gonna sleep here or somewhere else?"
"Why all these questions?" Raya grinned.
Lixian just shrugged and send him a playful smile. Raya scoffed as he rolled his eyes. "You have to learn to share, Lix. She's my friend."
"I know, I know. But you two always get so... I don't know, inseparable." He said, scrunching his face.
"Learn to deal with it." Raya laughed, throwing the demon a cloth that was caught before hitting his face. Lixian arched an eyebrow.
"No—"
Raya screeched as they tumbled around, playfully fighting while laughing loudly. Lixian pinned Raya down, knowing all his little tricks by now, and smirked smugly. "How dare you be so sassy towards me."
"You love it, you're not fooling anyone." Raya chuckled, but bit his lower lip to hold it back in. It looked so cute that Lixian couldn't help but break character and lean down to kiss him.
Loud knocking on the front door took the two lovebirds back to reality, their head turning in the direction where the door was pushed open without waiting. Their friends noticed them on the ground and rolled their eyes, muttering something under their breath before coming closer.
"Yes, welcome. Just waltz right in guys." Raya huffed, taking the outstretched hand from Lixian so he could pull him upright.
"Knowing you it would've probably takin' all night to open that door." One of then said.
They all laughed, but knew it was probably true anyways. Lixian send Raya a wink, both laughing quietly as they set up the games they were going to be playing tonight.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
