He never really paid attention to her.

Until she moved next door.

He would catch her sneaking outside from her window.

And he would become curious.

Once in awhile, she would throw him a smile.

It pushed him, but he never moved from his position.

He would watch her disappear into the night.

Sometimes, she stayed.

She would settle on the roof.

Just stare into the dark sky.

Without moving.

So transparent.

When the wind blew, it was as if she was disappearing.

Sometimes he wondered if he was seeing things.

One night.

Everything inside him was boiling.

A wave of sadness.

Crashed into him.

Knocking him into the pit of sorrow.

He looked out his window

As he do every night.

And he wondered, would tonight be the night?

Vaguely. He saw a hand reached out towards him.

"Want to join me?"

She asked him.

"Where do you go?" He wanted to know.

"Just follow me. Try something new. This town is too boring, but if you used your mind the right way, you can find something to do." She replied.

He decided to take her hand.

Let her lead the way.

He was tired of watching her be the one to escape.

When he always wanted to desperately get away.

That night he had the most fun, he would've never imagined.

Finding out the town's secrets, things that should've never happened.

Things you'll never imagined.

From a town people called their safe haven.

He decided to take her hand again, and again.

She showed him that there is much more to what you see.

And there's much more to what you can feel.

Black and white, was no more.

What he saw now was full of color.

It was all because of her.

She was beautiful, and bold.

This time when she smiled at him.

He was able to smile back.

He had fell in love.

He fell so fast.

So he left her a letter.

A letter he wrote, determinedly.

A letter he knew she would definitely return.

He was so filled up with her.

That he never saw it coming.

The day, she disappeared.

The day, she stopped coming.

She left without a trace.

He waited everyday.

For the hand to reach out to him.

To pull him into a new adventure.

To pull him into a new world.

The world full of color.

The world he always wanted to stay apart of.

He didn't cry.

He didn't feel numb.

Internally, he knew that the day would come.

He knew she was the wind.

She would come, and go.

Again, and again.

As he climbed out his window to escape into the night.

To start a new adventure.

To see the world through a new pair of eyes.

He could only thank her.

She was there to save him.

She was only there to pull him out the deep end.

When he made it to the ground.

He saw a letter.

He opened it.

And it read,

"Not only physical,

But as well, through your eyes.

I've been waiting on the day.

The day, you finally smiled.

I looked down upon you, and only saw grey.

You always stared out your window with the thoughts of going away.

I asked for a chance to make you want to stay.

You see, you have much more to offer than leaving this place.

I was able to come, and show you a way.

But now that you're shining with color.

It was my turn to go away.

Continue to shine.

The others like you, lead them towards their smile.

I believe in you.

Because.

Not only physical.

But through your eyes.

I've been waiting on the day.

The day, you finally smiled."
