《Sontails - Madly in love》Up, down, left, right

A week has passed, and our duo is making their way back home to Mobotropolis. Luckily, the weather is more mild in this area than in the Palmtree zone.
As Sonic and Tails reached the top of a hill, they spotted the city below them. As lively as ever, with cars and mobians passing by, but from their view they all looked like small dots.
"All right, back on track in Mobotropolis city" Sonic said as he placed his hands on his hips. Turning to look back at Tails who looks down at the city. Clearly showing that he doesn't want to go back.
"Sonic..." Tails started, getting his attention.
"I am not going any further than this" He simply said, crossing his arms.
"Huh?" Sonic looked surprised back at Tails. "Why? Are you scared or somethin'?" He smirked.
Tails only lowered his ears slightly backwards to make his annoyance clear, then he looked back at the city view in front of them.
"I am not scared to go back, but there is something I need to tell you before we part" He didn't even glance at the hedgehog as he continued. Not being able to see his muddled up face.
"I have been thinking through this and I know what to do. I want to right up my wrongs and by that, do what I should have done for a long time ago" He exclaimed, his hand fiddled with something in his pocket.
"Sonic, thank you for everything you have teached me, I might come back to say hello though" He smiled and walked over to the hedgehog.
Sonic smiled, his arms crossed. "So, you are a good guy now or?"
"Eh, you can't make an omelette without breaking the eggs, right?" Miles smirked, looking up at the hedgehog, due to his height.
Sonic sweat dropped. "Heh, no..." Tails chuckled and grabbed him rather harsh by his jacket collar.
"I am doing what I think is right. It may not mean to entirely stop killing, but it is a change" Miles looked into Sonic's eyes, he could see them soften up.
"So, what is your plan?" Sonic asked, Tails still holding his collar.
"Ssh, that's a secret" He winked. "For now"
Sonic chuckled. "I am not surprised"
The fox let go of Sonic's jacket collar and turned around to walk away. But he stopped, walking back again.
"One more thing you stubborn hedgehog-" Before Sonic knew it, ge got tackled to the ground faster than he anticipated. His breath leaving him for a split second. Tails pinned him down with a knife against his throat. Sonic did not see this coming.
His face showing nothing but pure shock.
"We might meet like this, or the other way around~" Tails explained, smiling at Sonic who let out a sigh from his sudden action.
"Heh, I don't doubt it" 'He hasn't changed that much...'
But Tails didn't remove the knife. Instead, he leaned closer to Sonic's face and kissed him on his lips.
The hedgehog's heart jumped at the speed of light. This happened everytime Tails went in for a kiss. And it startled him every time.
This was also a short one, but Sonic didn't want this sensation to let go so easily. So he put his hands over Tails' head and pushed him back so they could kiss for a longer amount of time.
Tails did not see this coming. In fact, he froze from the action.
They kissed for about two minutes until Tails forced them to break apart, but with Sonic's hands still holding his head, turned out to be a slight problem.

Centimeters apart from each other's head they stared at each other's' eyes without any of them utter a single word.
Sonic have the chance now. He looked deeply into Tails' eyes, it felt as if the world around them stopped. Tails' pupils expanded slightly, making his eye color barely visible, but Sonic can see him relax. It's like he changed persona in just a second.
The wind gently pushed Tails' bangs out of Sonic's face. Causing him to look softer, he looks like... a normal... teenager.
Sadly, Sonic couldn't enjoy the sight any longer, because Tails turned his head around, then pushed himself up back on his feet.
Sonic followed, and Tails started walking away, but the hedgehog quickly moved up to him with his speed and grabbed his arm.
"Can you just let me go?" Tails said, his voice crasp with annoyance, hiding the tiny blush that formed on his cheeks.
"One more thing" Sonic smiled, pushing something inside of Tails' pocket.
"Open in ten seconds~" Then, the hedgehog took off to the city, leaving a blue trail behind him.
It felt more than ten seconds when Tails finally managed to snap out of the sudden trance. He sighed out with a smile and shoved his hand into his hoodie, grabbing the note and flipping it open.
White dots, warm open air.
One place in brown and green, black and blue
Oh, remember that... I love you
The fox didn't find any suitable words for how his body felt the moment he read the note. His heart skipped a beat, several times, eyes glossy from what he could call: sudden realization.
Pleased by Sonic's note, he kept it. Shoving it back into his pocket, Tails walked to the opposite direction from Sonic. The sun rose up from behind him, his vision clear of what he have to do from now on...
X
Sonic felt more than happy as he dashed into the city of Mobotropolis. He could only imagine Tails' face as he redid his previous hint to murderistic actions.
Without the murder part of course.
As he zig-zagged through the masses of people in the city, he noticed that there is a difference in the city's atmosphere.
People looked scared, some even frightened by the squeak from a single seagull. Still, there was nothing to fear. Mobotropolis is at peace. At least that's what Sonic thinks.
One more thing to add to the renewed atmosphere to the city, whenever Sonic rounded a mass of people, they looked towards him like they just saw a ghost. Everyone knows that a blue trail of light is from Sonic, so they know it's him, but why do they look so... afraid?
'Maybe it's just me, I'll go home and take a nap. In a bed for once!'
Running down the path up to his and Tails' house in Mystic ruins, he tapped the tip of his shoes on the doormat before he opened the door and stepped inside.
A surprise awaited him in the living room.
"Took you long enough"
Sonic froze in position, before he turned around. Facing whoever the intruder is.
Randomly just sitting with its legs folded... on the table.
"E... Espio?" Sonic asked out of surprise, but still holding his battle pose, standing ready just in case the chameleon attacked.
He held one of his dagger-like weapons in one of his hands, spinning it around just to have something to play around with.
"Sorry for breaking in, I expected you to be gone for a while anyways. Looking aside that, I am not here because of duty, but because of concern"

As Espio said so, Sonic realized that he isn't wearing his usual officer clothing, just a regular... rather tight grey sweater and loose pants with military pattern.
"Concern? That's unusual for you Mr. Ninja" Sonic loosened up and leaned back to the wall as Espio put away his dagger-thingy and turned to look at the hedgehog.
"I know... Not that I like it, but there is something that isn't adding up and it's been bothering me for a long time..."
"Spill the beans Espio" Sonic smiled, gesturing his hand for him to continue.
"Vector... When he first started with the investigation of Miles, he was a usual and rather calm detective. Together with Charmy, they searched and searched for constant new clues. Hoping to get closer to Miles' hiding spot or his plans" Espio started, causing the hedgehog to yawn out of boredom.
"Mhm, what else?" The hedgehog questioned.
"I am going to skip most of the backstory since you appear to look bored by it" He coughed before continuing.
"Vector didn't just turn insane with the snap of two fingers. So I hoped you might have some answers. Remember, I am not here because of work, but because I am worried about Vector..." Sonic nodded, understanding his situation. Besides, they have been best friends for years...
"Sorry to disappoint ya Espio, but I have absolutely no clue. I am just as confused as you are" Espio's look changed to look slightly disappointed.
"If I could help, I would help. You know me" Sonic smiled and walked over to Espio, patting him on the back. Careful not to hit his spines.
"It's alright. But..." He thought for a moment before speaking up.
"Was there... someone else included in that.. explosion? In Eggman's old lair in the mountains for a few months ago?"
Sonic had to think hard about this one. 'Is it clever to tell Espio about Rotor and Eggman? He might not believe me though... but then again, I am his only source...'
"Eeh... Well..." Espio shifted his eyes to look at Sonic. Who scratched the back of his quills with his right hand. He seems... nervous and insecure.
"Alright..." Sonic sighed out, hanged half of his body down and got straight up with hands on his hips again.
"There is two other people..." Espio sharpened his ears... if he have any...
Sonic went on and told Espio about Rotor and Eggman. How they teamed up and were told to catch both him and Miles. How they tricked Vector and how different he appeared to be.
Also, he told espio about Miles' punishment if he get caught, which shocked him.
"Killed? By execution? This is absurd" Espio sweatdropped, looking down on the table, which he still sits on.
Sonic positioned himself on the sofa, one leg over the other and hand on the armlean.
"Yup, that's what the police had decided he said" Sonic tapped his finger on his knee. Holding in his support towards Miles. If Espio caught him trying to defend the fox, he would land in jail for sure...
"The police? I haven't heard anything about this... So they still plan things behind our backs..." Espio bit down on his fist, appearing to be in his own world.
'Sounds like something similar have happened before...' Sonic thought. Lifting up his leg on the sofa and leaned his arm on its knee.
The chameleon shaked his head, coming back to his senses.
"Anyways... when Vector came back. He looked like and did what a psycho only would do. Such as Miles for instance" Changing the topic.
"Heh, yeah. I noticed when he tried to shoot me" Sonic grumbled. Espio only nodded.
"He told us, but he also said a very... interesting detail about that event... That Miles... protected you"
"Oh. Well then, if Vector told you about that event, then he may as well told you about Miles' obsession with me. So no sweat"
This grabbed Espio's attention, widening his eyes slightly. "What...now?"
Sonic froze, and his body shook of regret. 'Well shit...'
"Well... It's a looooong story..." Sonic chuckled nervously.
Espio leaned in, giving Sonic the hint that he can continue. Sorry... have to continue.
Sonic spent the next twenty to thirty minutes explaining and going deep in detail about how he met Miles and, well... the whole story really. From the beginning to the end, or where they are now. Espio asked for a few questions underway in the story, but that was about it.
"I told Miles "bye bye" and came back here. Aaaand here we are" Sonic wrapped up the story. He managed to not call Miles for 'Tails', which he is ecstatic about.
Espio's face however, is in complete shock. Eyes wide, staring into Sonic's eyes, making the hedgehog slightly uncomfortable so he looked away, clearly trying to avoid his glance.
"Soooooo- what do you think about that?" Sonic smiled nervously, holding up his arms in a shrug.
"I... I am beyond surprised. Miles... he acted so calmly around you?" He started, Sonic repositioning himself in the couch to a more comfortable pose.
"Well, yeah. Miles said he have some kind of obsession towards me" The moment Sonic finished his sentence, he noticed that he had spilled a huge secret. 'Shit...'
"Hm..." Espio brought his finger up to his lips, looking away from Sonic to think. Then looked back at him by only moving his eyes. "If Miles is so obsessed with you in some way... Him, being a psychopath, a murderer.... why did you decide to help him?"
Sonic held up his finger. "Aah... That was not what I was assuming you to ask..." He said, widening his eyes, but shrugging it off right afterwards. Not expecting Espio to answer. To come and think of it... Sonic didn't know. "Interesting question, really interesting question..." The hedgehog is starting to feel uneasy, sweat dripping.
"You don't know?"
"I don't know..."
Espio chuckled, shifting the position of his legs. "I could figure you to say that. Sometimes we do things that we think is right. Something wrong can feel right... and something right can feel wrong. Funny when you think about it. Anyways, I don't need to know why, but promise me one thing in return"
Sonic's ears perked up. "Don't tell anything to anyone else, not the media, no strangers or interviewers. Neither to G.U.N or the police. I suppose that your friends know already, so there is no acception there" The hedgehog held up his hand.
"Ok ok, let me see if I can get this straight. I keep shut about what have happened between me and Miles, you keep shut about what you have heard today?" Espio nodded. "Alright then" Espio widened his eyes as Sonic reached his hand out to him, ready to do a handshake.
'Well... that was easy' The chameleon thought, shaking Sonic's hand and got up.
"Hold on Esp, what are you going to do about this information though?" Sonic crossed his arms over his chest, looking at him with no suspicion, but wonder.
"I now know that Miles is not completely guilty for turning Vector insane. I now know that it's some type of drug or injection that has taken place. From what you told me, was that this Rotor guy teamed up with Vector, only to betray him for wanting Miles' knowledge right?" Sonic nodded.
"Then that means Rotor is included in this case... I'll do some research about him and text you if I find anything useful" Espio smiled friendly to him for a split second, then walked out of the door, walking down the path away from Sonic's house.
Sonic could sense that Espio only wants the best for Vector, he wants his leader back, despite him quitting. He can also understand if this is part Charmy's idea. Even so, Sonic flopped down on the couch, folding his arms behind his head.
"Aah, I missed this place..." He smiled to himself, just as his body found itself comfortable enough, his eyelids sliding shut and he gave in to a pleasant, goodnight's sleep.
X
The next day arrived at the speed of light, but the hedgehog is awake long before the sun manages to reach the horizon. The air is crispy, but clean from the late night rain that poured down the sky. The ground still wet from the water.
He wanted to check out something before deciding what to do for the rest of the day. Visiting the graveyard around the church of Chaos. Because there is one thought that never crossed Sonic's mind before now... that Amy is dead...
Even so, he can't be angry at Tails for it, he doesn't know why either. He is mad at himself for not thinking this way though.
As he reached the graveyard, Sonic could sense the cold coming from the gates. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the gate open, causing it to creak when he walked down the path ahead. With every step he takes, he can see tombstones, many thousands of people buried under the ground. Sonic can only imagine the many lives that has been lost.
While looking for the grave in his mind, he stepped on something, which cracked on impact. 'Oh no...' Sonic's heart skipped as he lifted his foot. He had stepped on a glasscube of some sort. He picked up the broken pieces and scanned the area for a trash bin. Once he found one, he threw the pieces inside of it. It looked too broken to be fixed anyways.
"Darn, I need to watch where I step..." Sonic returned back to where he broke the cube and read on the tombstone to see who it belonged to. He widened his eyes once he read the last name. "Merlin... Prower?" Sonic bends down on one knee and looked over the grave, but the writing is written in such a "fancy" way that Sonic could barely read it. "This guy... died four years ago"
"Around the time I broke up with Tails...or betrayed him" Sonic's body suddenly felt weak, regret and anguish grabbed a hold of him. "This must have been his uncle..."
"That is right, my boy" Sonic's heart almost jumped out of his chest as he heard the voice, two meters behind him. He got up at the speed of sound and got battle ready, only to relax straight afterwards when he saw who frightened him. Amadeus, Tails' dad.
"You scared the shit out of me" He chuckled as Sonic said so, scratching the back of his quills to calm himself down.
"My apologies Sonic, but I couldn't help myself" He smiled and walked over to him, holding a small pot of flowers and a candlelight. "Merlin was my beloved brother, he died around the time Miles turned into who he is now... Once Rosemary told him that Merlin was gone... We didn't see him again. He screamed something to her, but she told me that she could hear him crying"
Amadeus paused and placed the pot and candle down, Sonic helping him to dig a small hole to place the flowers in. Once in their place, Sonic pushed the dirt back down, covering the roots and ran to get a watering can.
"Merlin and Miles were really close, everything me and Rosemary didn't teach Miles, Merlin taught him. I could almost believe that the boy liked my brother more than me" The general laughed, lighting up the candle and placing the lid back on.
"So, when Miles got turned in by the cops... was he already dead then or...?" To Sonic's sorrow, Amadeus shaked his head with eyes... eye closed. Because of the eyepatch.
"The last thing Merlin knew was that his grandson had been turned in to prison...It pains me, even to this day. Me and my wife believe this is one of the sparks that caused Miles act this way..." Sonic can sense Amadeus' grief, standing up. He didn't know how to help.
"But... that is the past. We cannot change what we already have done" Amadeus smiled and got up as well, clasping his hands against each other to remove any remaining dirt.
"Amadeus... there is something I have to tell you when it comes to your son" Sonic started, grabbing his attention. The hedgehog had to tell Tails' dad, it would be too wrong to keep something this big.
And so, Sonic started to explain and tell Amadeus about what has happened recently.
After his long story and me not wanting to write all that shit down again, Amadeus looked at him with shock. "So... he has changed his mind? Will he quit with murder?" His voice with hope, but he didn't get too excited.
"It's hard to tell, I think he will quit to kill, but not to harm. I have absolutely no idea what he is about to do or where he went once I left him" Amadeus nodded to his answer, slowly taking this all in.
He shook his head, as if to remove the thoughts. "I shall tell Rosemary once I get home"
He paused, then changed the topic. "I suppose you are not here to grief over Miles' unknown uncle, are you?" He smiled, holding his arms on his back, like the general he is.

Prologue Arc: The Day That Begins Your Fate - COMPLETED Story Arc 1: Chaos in the Lamorian Kingdom - ONGOING Please consider following/leaving a rating. I plan to turn this into a long lasting series, and it would really mean a whole lot to me. :) ----- Having succumb to amnesia, Galvin one day appears in the Grand Forest east of the capital kingdom Lamora. For the next two months, he lives a perfectly carefree yet boring life until one fateful day changed everything. Encountering all sorts of characters and dealing with all sorts of shenanigans, Galvin begins to experience visions of what appears to be the future. With this newfound power in a world full of magic, yet plagued with war, discrimination, and brutality, will Galvin be able to change fate…or die trying? ----- Do you like stories where the protagonist doesn't start out strong and is deeply character driven (with a LOT of inner monologues)? A story that has its fair share of comedic and dark moments? Well then you've come to the right place! However, if you're looking for LitRPG mechanics, then unfortunately, this story doesn't contain too many of them. The dynamics of the story will be based on real life physics and mechanics (with a bit of magic of course!) Also, I delve deeply into a lot of disturbing topics, so readers do be warned. However, if any of this sounds interesting to you, then please come by and give my story a read. ----- Expect releases as soon as possible (which is like 4 - 10 days). Just know that I'm writing this story as it progresses, so a lot of first drafts are to be expected. :D

Tales of Ordinary, Completely Unremarkable Contractors
"Where life had no value, death, sometimes, had its price. That is why the mercenaries appeared." - Artur Xerxes, in A Century of Disappointment: Memoirs of a Travelling Dwarf It's never too difficult to land contracts for a set very specialised skills in a continent teeming with werewolves, vampires, giant leopards, undead and, god forbid, elves. The difficulty comes when these contractors find themselves suffocated in the dense atmosphere of this world's rigid - and mostly unfair - rules; death, suffering and misfortune await those unwilling to sacrifice to bend these in their favour. In this non-linear plot, you will observe a scarred and deformed farm girl cashing her first bounty posters, a seemingly ordinary barmaid at a tavern in the bustling centre of a sprawling, corrupt city and an enigmatic leader of a firm specialising in dealings any other would consider suicidal. Watch them all take everything to the next level at every available opportunity, and then feel dread at the thought that this still might not be enough to halt the physical embodiment of doom about to do what it does best Please, feel free to review and comment! Any sort of feedback can help me become a better writer and write more engaging stories for you. I used to update once every 3-5 days, but this rewrite is taking much too long...I do hope it will be worth it.
