A loud thud made Tails' ears spring up. His eyes slowly followed. The room lays bathed in darkness, only a slight light from the fullmoon forces its way through the curtains.

Footsteps stumped around downstairs as the fox carefully pushed himself up in a cautious sitting position. 'Someone is here...' Tails glanced back at Sonic who sleeps soundly beside him. A silly sleeping position with the duvet laying over him like a soft hug. His chest rising up and down with rhythm, he is fast asleep.

The footsteps got louder. 'They're coming this way' Tails' body trembled after digging a knife into the neck of their intruder, but he knew he couldn't. Unless...

The bedroom door opened slowly as the intruder poked his head inside, revealing himself in front of Tails' eyes. Still, the fox has left the bed and the intruder is unknown to his presence in the room. Miles' smile widened, his psycho self is kicking back in. Eyes thin and small, darkness covering his eyes and his blood boiling to kill.

The man walks towards Sonic, who is clueless about what is happening due to him being asleep. The intruder takes out an object from his pocket and lifts it up in the air, but before he could finish his job, Tails grabbed the intruder's neck, kicked his knee into his back and threw him to the floor.

"I am sorry greeny, but this is property. Unless you go out now-" Tails smiled, bringing out his pocket knife, shoving it against his neck. "-you are dead meat~" His eyes digging into the crocodile's very soul. "I will not hesitate with you this time Miles. This time I have a gun, and the bullet is going straight through your heart" Vector growled with anger, pushing the gun against his chest. Tails can sense his emotions and anger blinding his eyes. 'Dang, are you also going insane Vector-chan?'

"I am afraid I can't let you do that, or my love will miss me~" Tails answered calmly, despite having Vector's gun against his chest. "I will not hesitate-!" Tails chuckled, face palming himself as he rubbed the sleepiness out of his eyes. "You know, I never knew you had a thing for shirtless guys Vector~" The crocodile widened his eyes the moment he noticed Miles is shirtless. This is, of course, a golden opening for Tails. He kicked Vector's gun out his hand, did a front flip over the crocodile's head and buried his elbow into Vector's stomach the moment he got up. Making him clench his stomach in pain, giving Tails the opportunity to smash his elbow on the back of his head. "Too slow~" Vector fell down, leaving Tails to stretch out.

"Man, I haven't had a close combat like that in ages, felt good to do so again" Tails mumbled to himself, just as he heard a slight movement from the bed. Miles turned his head to the left. Sonic had watched the whole thing. "Enjoyed the show?~" Sonic is speechless. 'Ok, so Tails can shoot with guns, make poisons, is acrobatic, create bombs and can fight in close combat- Exactly who am I dealing with again?' Sonic shakes his head and scratched his neck. "I'll take that as a yes. Anyhow, we should get moving unless you want G.U.N forces up your ass-" The breath got beaten out of the fox the moment Vector connected his fist with his small body. Tails got sent flying into the wall, pieces fell off. "Ow..." He grunted.

"You're next!" Vector growled, aiming his gun at Sonic, who avoided the bullet with a slight movement (meaning across the room). "Yeah, remember who you are dealing with" Sonic spinned into a ball and shot himself into Vector, making him fly straight through the wall. He landed in their yard a few meters down, he didn't budge. "Ouch, do you think I attacked too hard?" Sonic flinched looking down at the crocodile. "Absolutely not, that bastard deserves it"

Tails walked over the his side of the bed after brushing off the dust, and grabbed his fern green hoodie.

Just before Tails dragged it over his head, Sonic turned around to see his back and his eyes widened, heart sank and he could sense a whole new regret wash over him. He shook his head and laid down on the bed again, sighing.

Tails climbed up in their bed after him, crawling over to the hedgehog and bending over him. Sonic feels stupid for not acting, but he is always curious for what the fox will do, and yet, he is not scared over having a psycho right in front of him. "I never really got to say how handsome you are" Tails said, leaning down and kissing him softly on his neck. Sonic flinched from the sudden warmth that swarmed through his body. "Let's go" Sonic said as he tried to keep himself together. Tails smirked, but didn't say anything as he jumped out of the bed, grabbing his finished packed backpack. Sonic used a few seconds to get dressed and they both jogged their way out of the house, leaving Vector.

Sonic and Tails decided to speed things up a notch, so they ran all the way to Leaf forest, where they slowed down to walk. Sonic took a look back at Tails who landed from flying right beside Sonic, looking up at him. "What is it love?" Tails asked smoothly. Sonic didn't answer, but he held his thumb and pointing finger under his chin, tapping his foot in thought. "How did Vector know about our whereabouts?" The hedgehog asked himself. "The only one who knows is- Oh no..." Sonic stopped himself, but he can feel Tails' anger. "Cream... I knew we shouldn't have trusted her-" Tails said bitterly as he turned around.

"Tails wait-" Sonic grabbed the fox's shoulder, turning him slightly around. "Listen, Cream would never say anything if she didn't know it is the right thing to do. Something fishy is going on here" Sonic said out of suspicion as he let go of Tails' shoulder. He also, started to think.

"Cream is the only one who knows about us and me being with you in general. I went after your friends... Those people who knows about my main goal was going after your friends is-"

"Rotor" Sonic finished Tails' sentence. "Exactly, and because I teased Vector and your 'betrayal'-" Tails held both of his hands in a peace sign, bending them up and down. "He wants t have revenge on you and me. Rotor however is a clever bastard and thinks that he know everything about me, meaning he got G.U.N on his side as we saw when we escaped the lair yesterday" Tails crossed his arms, his namesakes swishing behind him with thought. "And Vector must have seen this- and he has the police on his side" Tails concluded.

Neither of them liked where this is going. "Rotor and Vector have teamed up against us, haven't they?" Sonic asked, biting his fist as Tails nodded. "Which means the police and G.U.N is on their side, who also have the world with them as well"

"Aw man, this is going anywhere but right!" Sonic rubbed his finger on his forehead out of frustration. 'How am I supposed to get the world to trust Tails now?' Sonic started to think, walking back and forth.

Tails however, knew this would go wrong in every way possible. Try to get the whole world to trust a murderer and psycho who has killed countless innocent people out of anger. It doesn't sound possible does it?

He flipped his ears and scratched behind them- trying to get his mind out of this world, but all of a sudden Sonic changed the topic.

"Tails.. the moment you dragged on your hoodie a few minutes ago, I saw that you had countless scars" Sonic started, making Tails look at him. "Ah, you saw them huh?" Tails smiled, crossing his arms. "What happened to you?"

"Well there is only one thing to say about that: There is just a small part you have been told about my past" Tails walked closer to him, leaning his arms over Sonic's shoulders from behind. "For the short period of time that I was in prison, the inmates there really liked to torture me. With rocks, sticks, by throwing them at me because 'I was so young'. A teen like me shouldn't be in prison, therefore I had to feel the pain. But not only that my love" Tails paused, taking his time to wrap his namesakes around Sonic and playing with a small strand from his quills. "But the prison officers too~ Even when I didn't do anything they would grab me and hit me with a whip. Over and over again~" Tails smiled, looking at Sonic's terrified eyes.

"How are you so calm about it...?" Sonic asked, his body shaking as a cold shiver ran down his spine. "I like pain, remember~ But the way they treated me wasn't fun at all, so I escaped when no one looked" Tails rested his head on Sonic's shoulder- taking in his warmth. "You're like a drug to me, you make me crazy- but also calm~" The fox smiled, unseen to Sonic.

The hedgehog didn't know what to say to that, luckily he doesn't have to either. "Now!" A voice shouted, making Tails snap out of his trance and look straight into the forest in front of them. "Shit..."

G.U.N soldiers have them surrounded. From every corner of the forest. Sonic leaned slowly into Tails' ear and whispered: "We have to fight our way out, these guys are no people with reason, but-"

"-Don't kill anyone, I get it..." Tails whispered back, sighing. He doesn't like being told what to do and not to do. Without further ado, Sonic spinned his way over to the soldiers, knocking them over like cones. Tails took out his smoke bombs and threw them below their feet, making it harder for them to see and attack, then he picked up his two pocket knives and embraced himself for an attack. 'They are most likely after me'

Sonic jumped on their heads and teased them with "Try and catch me! Too slow!" and so on. Tails however jumped up, flies through the crowds of soldiers and slices up their arms or something. He really doesn't like just giving them minor pain. 'This is soooo boring...'

All until someone grabbed him by his tails. "Oh, you did not just grab my tails!" Miles growled, wanting to cut the soldier's hand off. Instead, he grabbed his arm and bent it the wrong way. Hearing him scream in pain, he collapsed on the ground. Tails, feeling satisfied with himself, avoids the other soldiers as best as he can.

"Miles Prower! Stay down!" Just as Miles heard that, he landed on a tree branch, he started chuckling. "Did you just tell me to stay down?"

"I did, and so you will, unless you want shot!" A soldier pointed a gun against Sonic's head as he held him with his arm, choking him. "Man, you guys are fun..." Tails only opened his eyes a bit, trying to stay calm on the inside, he held an emotionless face. "Surrender now and give up-!"

"You guys are so foolish" Tails laughed, even Sonic is confused now. "Do not underestimate us fox! We know everything thanks to your little friend-"

"I can't care less" Miles yawned, sitting down on the branch. "So what if the whole world knows about my secrets, they won't do them any good anyways. And besides, shoot him if you want" Tails waved his hand to them, signalizing that he doesn't care. This crushed Sonic's heart.

"Stay away from that hedgehog right now!" A huge boulder came rolling their way, all the soldiers panicked and ran in all different directions, including the one who held Sonic. The moment the boulder reached Sonic, Tails spinned his namesakes and grabbed the hedgehog by his arms.

"I thought you-"

"Never show any weakness, no matter how big the threat is. Besides, who would kill Mobius' greatest hero?" Tails smiled, looking in Sonic's eyes.

One of the soldiers got lit on fire, many men were lifted up in the air only to fall down again. Sonic recognized the powers the moment he sees them. "Silver and Blaze!"

"Ah, crybaby and kitty~" Sonic elbowed Tails' side, but he only snickered. As they watched the scene, more and more soldiers surrendered and ran off. When most of them were unconscious, Tails let Sonic spindash into one of their heads. Miles also landed, the moment a soldier snuck up behind Blaze.

"Blaze, watch out!" Silver shouted. She turned around quickly, just as Tails grabbed the soldier's arm, spun him around and kicked his knee into his stomach, making the soldier fall down while clutching his tummy in pain. "Sorry, I can't use my knives on ya~"

"You!" Blaze growled, holding her flames, ready to attack. "You're welcome~" Tails only replied.

"Blaze, Silver- Wait. Don't attack him just yet" Sonic screeched to a halt in front of Blaze, holding his hands out in defence. "Yet?" Tails asked.

"Let me explain-"

"So, he is on our side now?" Silver asked, not sure if he can trust Miles. "Yeah, but he is still a little, ehm"

"Psycho? Weird? Kinda sexual?" Miles filled in, making Sonic sigh and face palm himself, shaking his head slowly. "Ah~ Difficult" Tails finished. Who leans against a tree, playing with his butterfly knife.

"Anyways, why are you guys here?" Sonic asked, walking over to them. "Thanks for the save though"

"We came running over to Cream the moment Vanilla called us. Knuckles is with her now, so she is ok" Blaze concluded. "She said that you may be in danger, so we decided to come and see if you needed any help" Silver said.

"Thanks guys, I appreciate it" Sonic smiled, hitting their backs friendly. 'They both seems ok too, Miles' mind control thingy must have expired'

Silver and Blaze looks at each other. "Well, if you guys have the world on your shoulders, then what do you think you're supposed to do?" Silver asked, holding Blaze close to himself.

"Honestly, I have no clue..." Sonic admitted. "With Vector, Rotor, the police and G.U.N on our tails, then there is not many options left..."

Tails kept on playing with his butterfly knife as Blaze slowly walked over the the hedgehog. "Sonic, not to wash your plan down the sink here, but I have a feeling that no one will forgive Miles for what he have done" Blaze said, laying her hand on his shoulder. "I can't forgive him either, but I want him to change. Therefore I am here to help" She smiled, her golden eyes shimmering slightly.

"Same here" Silver smiled, nodding. Sonic's heart lit up with joy, but a part of him agrees with Blaze. 'How in the whole wide Mobius can I get everyone's trust...?'

"Hedgie?" Tails called him out, the hedgehog turned to look at him. Miles put away his knife, shoving it in his pocket. "I am sorry to destroy your hope love, but there is no way in hell that the world is going to forgive me" Sonic widened his eyes, he didn't expect to hear this from him. "But, I promised to make things right, and I am standing by that" Sonic said crossing his arms.

Tails chuckled lightly. "That's what I have always loved about you, blue~ Your stubbornness, and your will to make things right. No matter what the cause, but you haven't broken your promise"

Sonic is more than confused, Silver and Blaze is surprised than ever, seeing the psycho fox at first, to come to this. "Besides, you shouldn't be the one to put things right. This is all my own doing, my own destruction and my own pain. I am the one who need to fix this mess, and I will" Tails smiled, a warm smile.

Blaze and Silver is hanging with their arms. Their eyes shocked and mouths wide open. "Did I just-"

"I think you did..." Silver said. They witnessed a murderer, a psycho- realizing his own mistake and wanting to make up for it.

"But first, we have two specific people we need to stop. They are the biggest threat at the moment. Guess who~" Tails smiled, eying the distance. "Rotor and V-" A knife flew by Sonic's head, hitting the second tree behind him. "Vector-chan~" Tails smirked as he moved his head to the left to avoid a gunshot.

"This time, I will not hesitate!" Vector growled, as he fired another shot towards the fox. "Vector, what in Chaos' name are you doing?!" Silver shouted in confusion as he used his telekinesis to hold the crocodile's gun. "Stop this madness Vector! You are no better than Miles if you keep this up!" Sonic jumped on top of his nose, then jumped off again so it started to bounce. Vector stumbled back a step, shaking his head in frustration, he clenched his fists.

"You can't tell me what to do! This guy has murdered thousands, and must be put in jail for what he have done- for a lifetime!"

Both Blaze and Silver looked at each other once more, now they have no clue on which side to be on. "Either way, you can't put him to jail right now-"

"Why not?!" Vector shouted at Sonic, who held up a finger. "Because he is gone" He said shortly. Vector widened his eyes. His eyes looked immediately towards the ground. He sees a small black ball. His shoulders sank, as well as his hope. "You can't be serious..."

The ball exploded and thick smoke extended out from the item. Sonic couldn't see anything, and no one else could. Before he could go anywhere, a hand grabbed a hold of his arm and it yanked him out of the area.

"Ssh~" Tails placed a finger onto his lips and Sonic nodded slightly. Together they ran their way out of the smoky mess. Once again they reached another destination. "This must be the end of Leaf forest" Sonic said to himself. Tails nodded in agreement.

A lone cherry tree is placed beside a few trees in the opening area. A small grass field and a cliff. The sun stands high on the sky, a few clouds covering its light and warmth. After all, it is autumn.

The fox walked over to the hedgehog. "I have a plan to capture both Vector and Rotor, but it will be risky. If you can allow me to do this, then catching them will be a piece of cake~" Sonic sighed, thinking. 'Tails' plans are always working in one way or another. He knows Rotor the best and I know Vector'

"As long as you won't kill anyone, I am in. What's the plan?" Sonic said out of curiosity, smiling his reassuring smile. "Hold on, there is one more person that we need to make this plan work" Tails picked up a small round device from his backpack. Pressing the main button, a small blue levitating screen appeared in front of them. With a phone icon signalizing it calling someone.

Sonic couldn't believe who appeared on the screen in front of him. No one knows what have happened to him, nor where he is. Until now.

"Good evening Doc~" Tails smiled, raising an eyebrow.

"It is Doctor Ivo, Robotnik to you!"
