"Tails...?" Sonic asked, concern and a little bit of fright in him. 'Where is he now...?' Sonic doesn't like that he isn't in sight. He slowly sits up and takes a look around the room. Dark green walls, white ceiling, the only furniture in the room is a wooden commode in the corner beside him. A sound made Sonic's ears perk up, but too late for him to escape as a fox jumped on top of him. "Boo! Did I scare ya now?" Tails chuckled. "You are so fun to scare sometimes~" He said, smirking. Sonic didn't make a noise after Tails frightened him.

"Or did I paralyze you, because you aren't moving..." Tails paused and waved his hand in front of Sonic's face. "Neither are you answering..." His ears dropped in a disappointed sigh. He thought for a second and smirked to himself. Then flopped down on Sonic's belly, a grunt escaped his lips. "Now you're talking~"

Sonic sighed in defeat. 'How am I going to deal with this guy...?'

After Sonic had figured out where they are, which is Eggman's old lair, he started thinking over what have happened during these two bizarre days. 'Ok, so Tails have been hiding here since the beginning. It's a clever idea really. There is no one who would ever dare to visit Eggman's old lair. No one knows if there are traps or still activity' Sonic bends his legs and starts running around in the base.

'Miles- uh Tails, have murdered people so they could feel his pain, he got blinded by his own fury and sadness. Along with possible fright' Jumping down from a platform, he landed and turned a corner to the left. Letting the wall lead him so he wouldn't crash.

'The boy needs help, and only I can do that, but a crippling feeling tells me that a Therapist is not the answer right now. First of all, he isn't stable' Sonic frightened himself by imagining Tails's psycho smile, thin eyes and a bloody knife in hand. Never knowing when he will make a move. He shake his head, trying to get the disturbing thought out of his head.

'I- my feelings for him haven't completely returned yet. My heart beats strong for him, but-' The hedgehog screeched to a halt as he reached the "living room". The one Sonic sees is Tails, just as he walks out of the kitchen with two plates of food on. Most likely breakfast. Tails tried his best in cracking a smile to the hedgehog. It's small and funny, but he gets credit in trying. Sonic smiled.

'I guess I am just looking for his bright side. Once I can see his eyes sparkling like the night stars. My love for him will return, I just know it'

"Mm! That was delicious!" Sonic stretched as he finished eating his and Tails' breakfast. He didn't seem that hungry, he only ate half of what he have plated to himself. Sonic starved, so he took it instead without hesitation. Watching the hedgehog eat like a goblin has to be the cutest and funniest thing Tails have ever witnessed.

"You liked it?" Tails asked as he watched Sonic. "Mhm! Itch delichous, realhy" Sonic mumbled with food in his mouth. Tails chuckled lightly. "If you say so" He stood up and picked up both of their plates to the kitchen. Sonic smiled and pressed the 'on' button of the tv remote, turning on the typical Eggman designed screen. The first program that popped up was a security camera placed on the ceiling in the kitchen. Sonic watched as Tails placed the plates in the dishwasher. He paused as he picked up one of the knives. He looked over it, flipping it in his hand. For a second, Sonic's heart stopped. 'Oh Chaos no...'

But then Tails gave a visible sigh as he carefully placed the knife in the machine as well. Sonic relaxed. "I better change program before he comes back here, he is going to kick my little ass for spying on him"

The hedgehog switched to the news. The title of the opening scene started and Sonic's attention is quickly grabbed as he read the first line.

" I, Sally Acorn speak live on Mobious news for breaking news. Yesterday at around 11:46 am it appears that the police had found Miles' secret hiding spot at Eggman's old lair in Scrap Brain Zone. Not only that, but it appears that the fox had someone else with him. Who appears to be-"

Sonic's heart dropped, his eyes wide as Tails walked back into the "living room" clasping his hands against each other, hopefully to dry away the remaining water on his hands. He looked towards where Sonic is sitting and felt Sonic's strong emotions all over him as he reached behind the hedgehog. "What's up So-"

"Sonic the Hedgehog" As the reporter lady mentioned his name, Sonic leaned forward with his face into his hands. Tails didn't know what to do, the whole world now knows that Sonic is with him. Not only that, but they can think that Sonic has always been by his side since the beginning.

"Has Mobious biggest hero been captured and held under Miles' control? Maybe he has become one of his test subjects, or worse: Has our own hero, betrayed us? Stay tuned for more information-" The television turned blank as Tails pressed the 'off' button on the console. He sighed, ears dropping. Things wasn't supposed to start off this way. "Sonic, I am so-mm?" Sonic held his finger on Tails' lips, stopping his apology once again.

"We need to leave this place. We are still in the lair right?" Tails nodded slightly. "Then we need to leave before the cops capture us both-"

"Are you telling me to run away? The cops don't scare me Hedgie~" Tails crossed his arms, smirking. "Besides, they won't get far, because I am-"

"-going to kill them before they get here..."

"Huh. You know me well~"

"I won't let you Tails" Sonic said as he grabbed the fox's arm fiercely. For a second's time, Sonic could sense Tails' frustration boiling. "You can't tell me what to do" Tails ripped his arm out of Sonic's grip, pushing past him.

"But running away? That's what you always do. As a problem occur, you run, but I am not like you Sonic. Unlike you, I deal with my own problems, with my own hands" Tails picked up the tv remote, turning it on again. Switching away from the news to the security cameras located all over the base. They all appeared on the screen at the same time, all having their tiny little rectangle.

Tails switched from all of the channels to the entrance camera. "Huh, looks like we have some company Blue~" Sonic glanced over to the screen, he sees hundreds of cars outside the lair, he can hear helicopters flying above the building and a person talking through a speaker.

"Miles, we have you surrounded. Exit the building immediately or we will open fire!" One cop shouted so the speaker cracked in an unpleasant noise.

"You still think we can run?~" Tails tossed the console up in the air, catching it and repeated the action. "You still think you can kill a hundred people more?" Sonic clenched his fists. "I can if I want to-" Miles stopped mid sentence. "If you kill one more person, I will deliver you to the cops and tell everything about us- what made you do this and everything else. Rotor gave me your files, I know and have everything I need to get you sentenced to jail" Sonic threatened Tails. He couldn't let him kill more innocent people.

Tails clenched the console. "I can always just break out again-"

"I can tell them your weaknesses, your fears and place you into a special cell. I am pretty sure they have made one already" Sonic replied. Tails' patience is running out.

"I can-"

"One more person and you are out of my life" Sonic said fiercely. Tails stiffened up, dropping the console. "Are you trying to stop me from keeping you alive?!" Tails growled.

"I am trying to help you for once Tails! And people need to trust you to be able to accept you into this world again. Please- I want to help you, but you need to trust me" Sonic laid his hands on Tails' shoulders. "Please, let me see you as you once were. The fox who I fell in love with" Tails looked up to Sonic and inhaled a deep breath, letting it out. "Fine- don't make me regret this..."

Sonic nodded, about to pick up the fox. "Wait" Tails stopped the hedgehog, making him look at Tails. "I swear Tails- try one of your sly tricks-" Tails shushed him. "Let me give us an advantage in escaping, hurting anyone" Sonic isn't convinced, but let the fox run to gather whatever he is going to use.

"No response sir. Should we interfere?" One of the cops asked to their boss. "No, something isn't right. Miles will come, trust me" Rotor answered for the boss. "I didn't ask you-"

"Listen to the walrus. He knows everything about the murderer" The cop went silent after the boss replied. No more asked.

A fire streamed up from the top of the lair. Smoke covering the blue sky. Soon, the flames licked themselves around each wall they could find, they travelled down to the crusty ground that once were filled with healthy grass. "The lair is on fire!" The boss shouted. "Not only the lair, but all of the evidence in it!" Rotor panicked. "We will never be able to find out about Miles' methods or weaknesses if everything burns down!" The walrus grabbed his head in devastation.

"Forget about the fox, everyone inside the building and retrieve everything you can find! That's an order!" Once the message was said, every cop dashed inside the building without hesitation.

Cops of all species searched the burning building, bits and pieces from walls fell down to the ground. Old robotics burned to ashes where they are laying. A chuckle echoed around the building, making the cops freeze. Footsteps ran around in the building, to their relief so is it only G.U.N soldiers who came for support. "We have the area covered, find more evidence of the criminal!" The cops shouted to the soldiers so they could hear them. They nodded and ran inside, up stairs, down stairs, different rooms and floors. Still they could find nothing.

"There is nothing here!"

"We don't have time for this, Miles hides his evidence in areas we can't see!"

A large piece of metal fell down from the ceiling above them, taking out cables so they sparked as the fell to the ground.

"We should get out of here, we don't have more time!"

All of the soldiers stopped immediately as they spotted a figure standing in the hallway.

"Come and get me fellas~" Miles smirked, his left hand in his pocket and the other waving them to himself with his finger. "Get him!" One of the cops shouted and all five of them ran after Miles. He chuckled and started running in the opposite direction. He picked up a small ball from his pocket and threw it on the floor behind him. "Hold your breaths~"

They all screeched to a halt when the ball popped open and thick smoke came out. The soldiers and cops covered their noses and tried to spot the fox, but he is nowhere to be seen. "What are you idiots doing!? This is nothing but !"

Tails spinned his namesakes around each other as he slowly reached Sonic, who is hiding. "Hedgie~" Miles whistled softly after Sonic and before he knew it, he was standing in front of him. "So?"

"Steam bombs. Works every time" Tails chuckled, showing them to Sonic in his hand. "They freaked out completely"

Sonic sighed and scratched his neck. 'Well, at least he didn't kill anyone...'

"Where do you suggest we go? The lair is going to burn down in the nick of time, any ideas?" Tails asked, shoving his hands down in his jeans pockets. Sonic tapped his right foot against the ground in thought, crossing his arms. He snapped his fingers. "Why don't we start where we left?" Tails raised an eyebrow.

"Our home in Mystic ruins?" Tails asked himself in confusion. Sonic stepped up to the almost crumbled down house. The hedgehog twisted the doorknob and cracked the door open, dust falling down from the ceiling like snowflakes. Sonic stepped out of the way, allowing Miles to enter. He hesitated at first, but walked inside the house, taking a glance around him. Sonic didn't bother closing the door, they need some light in here anyways.

"You're silent. Anything on your mind?" Sonic asked Tails as he walked up behind him. The fox looked back at him before he turned his eyes to the couch. "This place only reminds me of all my pain. The way you let me down, misunderstood me..." His ears dropped. "Betrayed me..." Sonic could sense his pain, he is responsible for this, he knows that.

"I know, but now we have the chance to make new memories, to start over again" Sonic smiled. "I promise you that I will help, but this time I am keeping it. Whatcha say?" Sonic asked.

A hand reached out to him quicker than he thought, grabbing his neck and pushing him to the wall. Sonic didn't fight back, but he got shocked. "Oh yeah, you better keep it Hedgie, or you know what I can do to ya~" Tails smirked, but it soon faded as a small pile of dust fell on his head, sliding down on his nose. Sonic made a face, trying his best not to laugh. Only small snickers escaped. He opened his eyes to give Sonic the worst death stare he has ever made as another pile kept running down from a hole in the ceiling. Sonic kept on snickering so his stomach hurt.

As soon as Tails sees Sonic's eyes glimmering, he loosens the grip around his neck and looks at the hedgehog. 'What a dork...' But he smiled. "Ok ok, I know" Sonic managed to say despite laughing his ass off. "Now, phew, let's get this place up and running shall we?" As he dried away a tear from his eye.

"By the way Tails, someone is coming over to check upon you. Take some blood tests and stuff" Tails stiffened as soon as Sonic mentioned 'someone is coming over'. "Who...?" Tails mumbled as he continued to fix the electricity box. "It's-" A loud screeching doorbell noise ringed in their ears. Tails grabbed hold of his ears and Sonic fell off the ladder that was set up in the middle of the room. As it stopped there was a soft knock from the door outside. "I need to fix this doorbell..."

Sonic opened the door softly, smiling at the sweet teenage girl in front of him. "Aaah, come to play again Creamy?~" Tails smiled at the young rabbit from inside, lowering his eyelids as smacked the box shut. Cream stiffened up, hugging the small case that she brought. "It's ok Cream, he won't hurt you" Sonic smiled reassuringly, leading the rabbit inside.

"The house still needs some preparations, but everything is coming along quite well" The hedgehog smiled. All of the dust has been wiped away, the floor and furniture washed and the time is only 7:23am. "And Tails is fixing the electricity-" Miles snapped his fingers, turning on all lights that has its cable attached to the electricity. He smiled. "Uhm, he has the electricity" Cream giggled and smiled, still keeping her distance away from Tails. "Wait, did you just call him Tails?" The rabbit asked. Sonic opened his mouth, but closed it right after. "Uhm, yeah- You see-"

"He called me Tails when we were a couple for approximately 5 years ago. He made a nickname for me since I hated my own name" Tails answered the rabbit, while screwing the last lightbulb back in place in the ceiling. Its light beamed into Tails' eyes. "Ow..."

Cream looked towards Tails and noticed his behaviour is different than last time. He is more calm. "So, his nickname is Tails and he behaves differently. What changed him?" Sonic eyed Cream and smiled. "Well I am working on it" Sonic smiled and so did Cream. 'He figured out his memories'

"Can I ask why little Creamy is here?" Miles walked over to them after putting the ladder in the shed. He leaned his arm on her head and eyed her. "You know, I never really noticed how small you are"

"Of course you didn't when you chased me around like a madman..." Cream mumbled under her breath, not knowing that he actually heard her. "It was pretty fun though" He whispered, creeping her out. Sonic stared at Tails with an annoyed look. "What? I am just talking to shorty here" Tails chuckled Sonic's stare off and walked over to the kitchen. Sonic sighed and scratched the back of his head. "Like I said, I am working on it..."

"If I am going to take a blood test, I need you to sit still" Cream groaned to Miles as he kept moving away from the empty syringe. "Pfft, you're so cute where you try to stab me with that~" Tails taunted her, making her frustrated, but not visibly. She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. "Miles, If you want to be helped, you need to accept the help you get" Tails looked at her. "It's not that I don't accept the help I get sweety, I just like to taunt" Tails pokes his tongue out, smirking. Cream sighs. "If you won't let me stab you with this, then do it yourself" Cream laid the empty syringe in Tails' hand and looked at him. "Gladly~"

He took hold of the syringe and without looking, he stuck the tip of the syringe in his left arm and slowly, his own blood got sucked in the empty bottle. Taking it out again he gave the shot to Cream. "Pleasure~" He smirked to the wide eyed rabbit and walked out of the kitchen, a small strand of blood running down from the wound.

'He just stabbed himself without a second thought. It's like he have done this before...' Cream swallowed the uncomfortable feeling and got to work with figuring out what kind of DNA he have, as well as any drugs...

"Is she done yet?" Tails yawned. Him and Sonic is relaxing just outside the house in the last rays of sunshine before the sun goes down. "Let her take her time. She just started studying medicine" Sonic answered, stretching after laying still for awhile.

Tails' ear flipped up as he heard the front door being opened. Cream peeked her head out and called Sonic's name softly. He looked at Tails who just waved at him, signalizing him to just go. He nodded and jogged his way inside, closing the door behind him.

Tails was left to see the last rays of sunlight go down the horizon, closing his eyes.

Sonic walked to Cream who stands in the kitchen with a worried expression. "What's up Cream?" Sonic smiled, scratching her hair friendly. "Not good... I mean- I am good, but Miles' results aren't" Cream gave Sonic her ipad, that shows the results of his blood. "These are all of the drugs Miles have inside of his blood..."

Sonic widened his eyes. "Bath salt?"

"It may sound harmless, but it's a dangerous drug that can cause: Suicidal behaviour, paranoia, violence and many more" Cream explained, surprising Sonic. "What about Anabolic Steroids?"

"Mostly the same effects, but the user have an unfair advantage when using this drug. It's like sugar rush" Sonic nodded and looked over the other drugs, like cocaine. "Miles have used many drugs, many that I don't even know what means. So I need to ask him" Sonic nodded again and put the ipad on the table.

"What kind of drugs I have used? Do you also want a dose?~" Miles smirked at Cream, making her uncomfortable. "N-no, I need to know what the unknown doses of drugs you have used are. To help you get them removed"
