《Sontails - Madly in love》O

"It's probably a trap"
'I kept telling myself, still I made myself run towards Scrap Brain Zone where I hopefully would meet Miles, the murderer behind it all. I didn't want to meet up to him, but having the job to catch him...
I don't really have much of a choice...'
Sonic kept running over the zones, breaking confused robots and badniks on his way.
"I really don't have the time for this!"
Sonic talked to himself in annoyance, kicking another krabmeat into the distance. He finished Star Light Zone and decided to take a short break before making his way into Eggman's old fortress, hopefully broken down and out of power.
"I really don't want to deal with the Egg at this point..." Sonic sighed and leaned his hand against a tree, without its leaves, because of the burned down environment.
"Ok Sonic, you know what you are getting yourself into"
The hedgehog started, sighing at his own stupidity.
"You are, in a short while, going to meet the worlds biggest criminal. Without any knowledge of his appearance whatsoever, and he might kill me in the process... Sound like a plan"
Sonic, happy with himself, rubbed his nose before speeding off into Scrap Brain Zone.
The broken fortress of Doctor Ivo Robotnik is sure not functional.
Plantlife have taken over the place, covering almost every button and electricity there is. The lighting is down as well with it, not giving Sonic any options to turn on any switches.
"Oh great, I can't see anything" He mumbled to himself. Walking around blindly in a torn down fortress, that might be working afterall, plus that there is a serial killer inside somewhere.
'This is suicide...'
Yet, Sonic walked inside.
"Now if I remember correctly so is Eggman's big boss room here" Sonic mumbled.
Finding his way by pressing his arms towards the walls, taking baby steps, guiding himself into the big room, seeing something he didn't quite expect.
The room must be at least two houses tall, maybe three. The room is also circle shaped and can fit The Death Egg robot, Egg Golem and The Egg Viper all three inside. The room itself now is only a scrap yard with broken pieces of metal.
"Turns out Eggy didn't clean up after himself either, great job doc"
The hedgehog looked around on the room, especially eyeing the control room just a few meters up in the air. Sonic could jump through the glass windows with the wall's support, but that is not necessary at the moment.
Right now he need to wait for Miles, so Sonic did as he is used to- wait.
He sat down on the metal ground, crossing his legs and leaning his chin onto his hand.
The fortress is unusually quiet, not that it's a bad thing, but Sonic is used to all the clinking noises of metal whenever he ran through this place.
Even a small part of him wants Eggman and his "evil schemes" to come back. He was the only mobian- uh- human being who put the exitement in everything. No matter how lame his plans were, there was always something new about each one.

"Man, you really didn't see me?"
Sonic got up instantly and looked around for the voice, only to hear an echoing chuckle. Miles is in the room, but where?
"Turn around~"
He did as told and jumped, his heart throbbing as his eyes met a person not so far away from himself.
It has to be him.
Weirdly enough, Sonic kept his calm as Miles slowly walked over to him, dressed in dark blue jeans and a dark green hoodie, the hood over his head.
Before Sonic knew it, Miles is standing right in front of him, but surprisingly enough he appears to be shorter than him.
'To be known as a serial killer all over the world, he doesn't look so frightening...' He thought, looking down at the guy.
He lifted his arm and slowly removed the hood from his head, revealing his face. Something about his look made Sonic's heart pound in his chest, not hard nor soft but... he couldn't quite describe the feeling.
He turned out to be a fox with a tangerine orange fur, three long bangs which covered his left eye along with two long soft ears.
Not only is his fur attractive, but also his facial shape, a perfect V formed his face that made his cheekbones pop, visible for any eye. Not only his shape, but the moment Sonic looked into his eyes, it felt as if he melted.
Baby blue, mixed together with azure and maya made his eyes look like a crystal, hard to see in the dark, but they may be glowing in the sun.
They completed his whole look.
'How can a murderer look so attractive?'
Sonic thought, not even noticing that he have a slight blush on his cheeks. He thanked Chaos that Miles didn't see it. But by looking at the fox's appearance, he started thinking a little bit.
'How old is he...?'
"This wasn't how you thought I would look like is there?~" Miles chuckled and looked up at his face, putting on a smug smile as he did.
The hedgehog looked back down on him. Just by looking at his smile you see that he is confident (and quite scary) when you think about it.
"Let's not waste anymore time, hm?" He smiled, pulling away from Sonic's face, which made him let go of his breath which he have held without knowing.
"Sonic The Hedgehog, twenty years old and known as the fastest thing alive. Past Freedom Fighter and leader of a group known as Sonic Heroes. Is a world known hedgehog and just now signed for the job of catching criminals- is that right?~" He turned around after walking a few steps around Sonic, waving his twin-tails as he spoke.
Now looking at Sonic's astonished face.
"How did you-?" Sonic's voice almost cracked when he opened his mouth.
Miles only chuckled and looked into his eyes, making Sonic take a step back from his expression.
"Oh Sonikku~ I am Miles~ World known criminal or should I say serial killer, who is also a genius. I always check information before I do something~" His voice soft as honey, but had a hard touch to it.

'Knowledge is power they say, well they are damn right...'
Sonic took a deep breath before letting it out, trying his best to calm down.
'He wanted me to come for a reason'
Miles looked at Sonic, studying his whole physique. A tall male hedgehog who appeared to be very fit for his age.
Strong legs and arms, but the muscles are almost invisible to the eye, depends on how close one is.
His face strong and thoughtful, the hedgehog is very quiet at the moment, his hand onto his lips in a 'thinking' way.
His six long azure blue quills hanging softly behind him, perfectly styled and normally attached onto the back of his head. Some fur popping out of the long quills, making him look messy, but stylish.
Peach perfect colored skin, and kelly green eyes mixed with a hint of mint at the bottom. His favorite flavor as well.
Miles didn't notice how tempting there was to look at the hedgehog, biting his lower lip with thoughts.
'He looks so different now that I have gotten a good look at him' Miles smirked.
"You know-"
Sonic broke his train of thoughts and moved his eyes towards Miles' face.
"I wanted you to come here for a reason~" He smirked, his eyes darkening making Sonic tense up as he sees Miles' hand reach into the pocket of his jeans.
"And, well. I want to see how you can deal with me, alone"
Miles' eyes suddenly shrinked as he shot himself foreward into Sonic's body holding a pocket knife.
This caught Sonic off-guard, but he managed to take a backflip before things got ugly, but he got a small cut across his cheek.
'Was he aiming at my face?!'
Usually people aim at his chest.
Sonic screeched against the floor and got ready for the next attack, which came from behind.
This time he jumped to the side catching the fox off-guard by grabbing his arm which is extended in slow-motion for the hedgehog, flipping him over, making his body slam against the ground.
He heard a gasp of air leaving the fox.
'I beat the breath out of him that easily?'
Sonic thought, but during those five seconds, Miles had somehow managed to get out of Sonic's hands and kicked him in the gut.
"You are so much better than the other ones I've fought!"
His voice echoed through the room as he launched himself towards Sonic again, grabbing his neck.
"Show me more!~"
Sonic felt his guard fall off but somehow did as he got told- bring more.
He grabbed Miles several times and hit him against objects and even fought with his fists. He didn't land all of his blows on the fox, because he kept avoiding even at Sonic's top speed.
'Who is this guy?! He is so fast...'
Sonic thought as he was about to give the fox a hard hit against his chest, but he never hit him. Sonic's eyes widened as he slowly but surely lost sight of the fox.
'Where did he-?'
He felt strong grips on his shoulders, pushing him down. In a second flat he landed on his stomach first, which blew the breath out of him. The hedgehog laid on the ground, paralyzed for a few seconds before realizing what just happened.
With Miles on top of him he started to have problems moving. 'Darn'
"You are so strong Sonikku~"
Miles' voice sounded insane, but pleased.
"You almost had me, but you were thinking too much~" He whispered into his ear, making Sonic feel slightly uncomfortable.
"You just need to move, not think~"
'Is he- giving me advice?' Sonic thought surprisedly, (or maybe he is going insane)
Miles' tails swished behind him as he slowly undid his pocket knife. Sonic heard the click-sound of the knife being opened, which made him tense up.
'I need to get him off me!'
But his body didn't budge.
"You are fun playing with-"
He lifted the knife as his left hand held down his neck. Bringing it down to hit its target... Sonic prepared himself for impact, the pain is going to be unbearable, he just knew it.
A huge echo of something sharp meeting metal made Sonic shoot up his eyes.
Seeing his pocket knife right in front of his face. His breathing increased, but softened after a few minutes.
A soft chuckle sounded behind him, his green eyes looked towards Miles on his back.
"-That's why I want more!" He laughed, flipping his knife back in place. Sonic didn't understand anything, his heart ached and his body limp.
The heavy weight on his back suddenly disappeared as Miles reached out a hand to Sonic. Looking at him as if nothing have happened. Sonic hesitated for a while before grabbing it rather softly.
For a short while, they stood there- hand in hand and looked in each others eyes.
A serial killer Sonic have to catch is right in front of him, he have the handcuffs in the pocket of his jacket and Miles' hand in his- everything he needs to do to finish the job is to bring them onto his hands, but something in him hesitated to do so.
Miles leaned foreward, almost touching his nose with Sonic's, but leaned into his ear.
"Run, before I change my mind~" He smirked, his hot breath tickling Sonic's ear.
He let go of Sonic's hand and didn't hesitate in running away from the fortress. He needed to get far- far away from him...
Miles didn't move from where he stood, but looked into the distance to where Sonic is running towards.
99% of him wanted to kill the hedgehog there and then, but the one percent held him back in doing so.
"He is way too interesting in killing on the spot. Show me what more you can do- Sonikku~"

Luck And Chronomancy
Time Magic is the best magic as everyone knows, although there are lots of unique Talents in the world. Most people only remember Haste because it is hard to get to higher Phases of Chronomancy. That is still enough to make the Talent iconic. A lucky enough Aleatory Talent can position you for greatness or leave you languishing in obscurity. The only true equality in the world is when that glowing message pops up at 8 years old. Even if it doesn't activate until you are an adult at 16 you still know. Sure you can find a new dungeon spawn and get another chance at a rare Talent, even this one, but you have to already be ready to delve into the *Far Wilds*, which is far easier with wealth or family power. This is the story of where my good fortune took me and the difference it made, even among a party of 7 others including an Arcanist. It is a journey of magic and monsters but also math, which some think is actually worse. Luckily I was born with Intelligence and Focus as my personal traits, and my parents were scholars. Of course Chronomancy can also be a frontline combat talent. Versitility well beyond other Elder Talents like Gravity, Abstraction, or Arcana. Might could have worked for me, too. I also met a runaway princess. All the best adventures have a princess. She hated being a noble and we didn't get married but it still counts. Besides she really filled out our front line. All that Leadership training came in handy. I still don't know where she's from. Who cares? How well Haste goes with giant hammers is what's important. I never learned much about anyone in the party, except the one I grew up with. I'm not a people person. I just wanted to optimize dungeon clearing time. *******Story Details******* No romance, politics, or traumatizing content, slice of life, or even dialogue. 1st person narration, like a guide/adventure log. 2000-7000 words a day, maybe 40-60% rpgish combat log with some reasoning on combat decisions, with the rest character Talent discussion and progression stuff. 8 person party with a decent variety in roles. Party members usually have 2 primary functions. Told from the support/control Chronomancer's perspective. Each party member will have 6 Basic/Background Traits, then 3 actual Talents with abilities. Capstone from their Educational Institution, Arbritrary as a gift from the temples, and Aleatory which is decided at birth, revealed at 8, and activated after adulthood at 16. Aleatory Traits ignore requirements and are random why is why they are so important. They'll gain new Talents from finding Dungeons to consume in the *Wilds*. Mature dungeons in cities can provide *Challenges* to raise the Phase of a Talent, up to 3 times from 1 to 4. Each character will get to roughly 8 non-Trait Talents. Attributes come exclusive from Talents, are required by Talents, and provide various effects as well. I designed about 220 Talents with abilities, 4 in each of 4 phases. "Traits" are just Attribute stuff. I'm not sure how many will be detailed in the story, more than 100 for sure. I used Talents because I want to be free of the legacy of tabletop. Half those rules are just because of the limitations inherent in a pre-computer ttrpg. This story mostly uses combat Talents, although like 1/3 of the 220 are for crafting and other society and economy stuff. If you really wanted to be a Thief you might take Intuition, Awarness, and Might for Basic Traits and Deftness, Manipulation, and Trickery for Family/Education. Then you'd pick Acrobatics, and Climbing for Educational Capstone and Arbitrary traits. You Aleatory Trait might be Shadow(Light/Dark) Magic, Umbramancy. A Bard might swap Dexterity for Charisma, Music for Acrobatics, and have gotten Illusion(Shadow/Sound(Air/Force)) for their Aleatory Trait.
