𝙄 𝙎𝘼𝙏 𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙍𝙀 𝙄𝙉 𝙎𝙄𝙇𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙀, processing what had just been said to me.
"You what?"
"When I first joined the Commission, the Handler told me she had a special job for me. And when I saw my target, I refused to do it. But, she said she would fire me and leave me back in the apocalypse if I didn't follow her orders. So I shot you."
I nodded, taking in his explanation. "And why didn't you tell me?" I asked. I sounded tense. I was tense.
"Well I- I was worried, y'know. That you wouldn't want to talk to me. Especially since I left seventeen years ago and was suddenly there again. I didn't want you to be mad," Five reasoned. "Five, I wouldn't have been mad if you had just explained this to me right away. Now I'm extremely frustrated because you felt like I wouldn't be okay with it."
"I fucking shot you and you stopped aging!"
"And if you didn't we wouldn't even be here! They would have left you for dead in the apocalypse. You think I care about my age? I don't give a shit. I want you and everyone else to be safe. And I can't do that if you're not going to be completely transparent with me!"
My knuckles started to turn pale from how hard I was gripping my chair. "Of course I trust you! And I try to be as transparent as possible. I told you one of the biggest secrets just now!"
"Because the old you brought it up! What would you have done if he never said anything?" He was provoking me. I don't know if he was trying to help, but whatever he was doing clearly did the opposite.
"I would have never told you. Maybe it would've been better that way." I scoffed. "Sure."
"Now hold on a second. Have you been telling me everything?" I paused. "What do you mean?"
"I asked you what happened with Maria. You said you had a proper goodbye. What does that even mean?" He questioned. "It means a proper goodbye. What else could it mean? I just had my...final moments with her."
He rolled his eyes. "I heard you hesitate when I asked about Maria. I know you aren't telling the complete truth. You said you wanted me to be transparent. You have to be too." I released my grip from the chair. There was a red indent in my hands from how hard I was holding on to the seat.
It was better to just be out with it.
"Fine. She kissed me."
"She what?"
"She kissed me. And I didn't kiss back. I told her I wasn't interested like that. Happy?" I asked. "You see my problem here? You're a hypocrite." He stated.
"Ok you're not seeing-"
"We good?" Five interrupted me. I turned around to see Luther and Old Five back from the bathroom. "We're good," Luther responded. I guess we're gonna ignore whatever just happened.
"You got a deal," Old Five affirmed. "We gotta hurry. Kennedy's en route. Less than an hour until show time." He sounded tense.
"Why are you so anxious to get going all of a sudden?" Young Five said, standing up from his seat.

"Relax. You're getting paranoid," Old Five pointed out. Young Five scoffed and chuckled. "Oh am I?"
They both let out farts. Paradox psychosis.
Luther smiled. "Ok, let's roll."

𝙁𝙄𝙑𝙀 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙄 𝙃𝘼𝘿 been walking in silence for who knows how long. I think it was better that way. He was already being infected by the paradox psychosis and I don't think arguing was going to make it any better. Luther was talking quietly with Old Five behind us. I heard their conversation come to a halt and Luther's footsteps behind us.
"Hey guys..."
He stood between us and patted both of our shoulders. "He's gonna kill me, isn't he?"
Luther scoffed and let out an unconvincing laugh. "What? What, him? He's gonna kill you? Yeah, right. That's ridiculous," he stuttered out. "You know, you're a terrible liar, Luther. You're a worse liar than you are a spotter," Five said.
"Okay, whose fault is that? What good is having a spotter if you won't even listen to him?" Luther argued. "So you admit you're conspiring against me?" Five whispered angrily.
"Do you admit that you're suffering from paradox psychosis?" Luther asked. "All I'm suffering from is a bracing clarity about you and your murderous intentions," Five whisper-shouted. I moved my hand around my head to indicate that Five was going crazy to Luther.
"Look, it's not like he's gonna kill you kill you. He just wants to kill a um...version of you," Luther reasoned. "Wait he's actually trying to kill him?" I questioned.
"But I am that version of me."
"Hey, I don't love it either, but he's actually got a pretty good plan," Luther said. "What? The one where you guys off me and then jump to 2019 to save the world? Are you in on this too?" Five asked looking to me. "I have been with you this entire time when could I have been conspiring?"
"Yeah, wait, how did you know that?" Luther said realizing that Five had laid out their plan perfectly. "Because I'm him and that is exactly what I would do if I were trying to kill me!" Five shouted. "Okay, all I know is we've got one Five too many, and you're the one acting like a maniac," Luther insisted. "Maniac? Luther you have seen nothing. If you want a maniac, I will show you a maniac."
"Okay, as your spotter, I think the best thing I can do for you right now is put you out of your misery," Luther declared. "Okay, Luther, listen," Five began, grabbing him by the shoulders. "I know your feeble mind only responds to age and authority, so listen very closely. Yet again, you are experiencing daddy issues, this time with your own brother, which honestly is making me a bit crazy. But remember this: I'm 14 days older than him. I have seniority here. So it is me you should be listening to, Luther," he said, pointing to himself.
"I'm the daddy here!"
People all around us stared. "How's it going?" Luther said, trying to act causal. "Five, please, you're being unseemly. Look at you!" Luther reasoned. "I admit there is a possibility that I may not be in my fully right mind right now."
"Okay, good," Luther replied, glad to hear Five could admit to something. "But whatever I've got, he's got it too," Five continued. "What?" Luther asked, but Five was already walking ahead. Luther looked at me.

"You know what? I think I'm leaving."
"What?" Luther asked again. "Yeah. He is...too much right now. And you're a big strong man. I think you can handle this on your own," I told him. "What? But they're both going absolutely insane.
I laughed. "Well that's not my problem anymore. I'm gonna go find Klaus. See ya!"
"Wait, (Y/N), come ba-"
But I was already gone.

𝘼𝙇𝙇𝙄𝙎𝙊𝙉 𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙂𝙂𝙇𝙀𝘿 𝙏𝙊 roll over the corpse in her carpet. "God, why are people so much heavier when they're dead?"
"You got a lot of practice at this?" Ray asked. But, Allison was not amused. They looked at each other in awkward silence. Klaus, who sat on the couch with Ben, chuckled. "Yeah."
"Hey, so, what was it like when I possessed you?"
There was a cold chill that swept through the room and suddenly I was sitting on the couch next to Klaus. "Jesus fucking Christ!" He exclaimed. "Hello (Y/N), a little warning would be nice," Klaus muttered. "Sorry, sorry," I apologized. I looked to see Allison and who I presumed to be her husband in front of me.
"Ok who is this?" Ray asked. "(Y/N), nice to see you," Allison said, standing up for a quick hug. "Nice to see you too. Especially since you didn't show up on time. But I see you had your troubles," I replied, gesturing to the rolled up carpet. "Yeah," Allison whispered. "Oh! Ray! This is one of my sisters,
(Y/N). (Y/N), this is my husband, Ray."
"Hi. Nice to finally meet the brother-in-law," I said, shaking his hand. "Hey..."
He trailed off and studied me closer. "Have I seen you before?" He questioned. "Well I've been here for a little over a year. Maybe we've walked past each other on the street."
"And I've never met you because?" He looked at Allison. "Family drama. Well, I assume Allison has told you everything." She nodded. "Alright, lemme at least help you with the body," I said, grabbing onto to the side of the carpet.
"Okay. One...two..."
We all struggled to pick up the body. We had it completely off the floor when we heard a zapping noise. Allison and Ray both shrieked, forcing me to move back as the body dropped. I turned around and saw Diego and a very short man standing in front of us.
"Oh, good," Diego panted out. "All right, you three are here. All right, we gotta go," he declared. "Diego, Jesus!" Allison shouted at him. "Now I know what you mean by warning," I muttered to Klaus.
"Oh, hi Ben."
"Hi (Y/N)."
"Wow. Number Two, Three, and Four. We almost have an Umbrella straight flush here. Oh! And Number Eight! Aw man this is so cool," the short man said. Allison sighed. "Ray, this is my other brother, Diego," she said.
Diego walked up to Ray who was still pressed against the wall. "Hey, man. Sorry to crash in here like this," Diego shook his hand. "Hey, who is this guy?" Klaus asked, pointing to the short man.
"Herb. He worked with Five at the Commission," Diego said. "The Commission?" Klaus asked. "We monitor and maintain the time-space continuum," he explained. "Have I met you before?" I asked.
"Maybe. You were there for a little while and I think I remember seeing you," Herb responded, thinking back. "Okay," Klaus nodded, still unsure. "No, for real. I was just there. It's awesome," Diego began, then looked at me and Allison. "Okay, I got to look at the timeline. I know what causes doomsday. It's Vanya."
"Wait, what?"
"How?"
"Gonna blow up the federal building at Dealey Plaza just as the president's passing through in less than one hour. We gotta find her and stop her, now."
"Wait, Vanya killed the president?" Allison questioned. "No, no, no. See, the explosion causes the motorcade to drive off. Kennedy lives. Everybody thinks Russia's behind it, including the president. He strikes back, they strike back. Before you know it, it's raining nukes," Diego clarified.
"Okay, um..."
"Holy shit," Klaus muttered. "Ray? Ray, baby," Allison went over to talk to him. He was panting. "Are- Are you okay?"
"No, I'm not okay. First of all, this son of a bitch beams into our living room with yet another one of your brothers, and he's talking about stopping one of your sisters from blowing up some buildings, and that young lady just appeared on our couch, and I got a dead man wrapped up in my best rug, babe."
"Okay. Okay, okay. Can we- Can we- Raymond. Ray. Ray," Allison tried to coerce him. "Or we can have that shampooed. We also provide body removal services," Herb suggested.
I watched Allison and Ray talk in hushed voices. "Is this why you didn't make it back in time?" I asked Diego. "Yeah. Got a little...caught up with Lila."
"And Five?" He asked me. "He's with Luther. I'm sure they're fine," I replied, waving it off. Diego nodded. Allison approached us, signaling that it was time to leave. I waved at Ray before following everyone else out the door.
