What did you think the book was about?

From the blurb, it wasn't real clear. It was only after I read the synopsis of the previous book that I got this was a poly relationship and that she was a musician. I think that a rewrite of the blurb might help. I did know that it was erotica going in, but not from the blurb.

Did you feel that the book fulfilled your expectations?

Yes.

What about the plot? Did it pull you in; or did you feel you had to force yourself to read the book?

The plot wasn't very deep. But, it's erotica; I didn't expect it to be deep. I didn't have to force myself to read it at all. In fact, I read the whole thing.

Do the characters seem real and believable? (Basically, can you relate to their predicaments?

Yes, they felt very relatable. But then, I know polyamory and female led relationships, so that would feel familiar to me.

How was the pacing of the chapters you read? (Consider if the scenes skipped or jumped randomly. Too fast or too slow? Why?)

I thought that it as fine. Had the plot been more complex, I would have expected it to be faster paced.

How was the description of the chapters you read? (Consider if there where any information bumps.)

I must have found them to be fine since none of them stick out in my head as being awful. LOL

Describe what you liked or disliked about the writer's style? Why?

I liked how realistic life was... it portrayed poly relationships to be real relationships. I also enjoyed how well written the sex scenes were. There's nothing worse than bad sex scenes!

Would you read more of the author's work?

Yes. If I have the time, I want to go back and read the first novel.

Comments on the writer's strongest, weakest writing trait, help request and give your overall personal thoughts.

Strength: Believable dialogue and relationships dynamics. - Yes, I can see this as a strength. Very well done!

Weakness: Editing - I only saw a few things here and there. I would have pointed them out, but this book group doesn't seem to like comments like that in the books.

Overall, a very enjoyable book!

Seriously there is not much I can say about your writing style and books, other than I freaking LOVE them!!

The way you make all your characters so different, but believable as well. Even when the book is supposed to be about one certain couple you take the time to highlight how different each dynamic for the others is.

I love the openness and free loving your made up world projects. Making such a taboo topic like polygamy or brother/husbands, an accepted thing!

I can't wait to read the other shorts for the rest of the men! Keep up the amazing work!

What can I say without sounding like an utter fangirl? I enjoyed Fierce Protection immensely as I found it an easy read. Having the opportunity to see the events of Our Love interpreted by Alex was actually deeply satisfying and by writing the book from his perspective, I think it humanized him and made him all the more endearing. This was the man that made everything possible and it was great to get into his headspace as to why.

The conflict! Let me get into the main conflict. It is such a relevant topic given the MeToo movement and I'm so glad you chose that as a core conflict. How trapped Mercy felt about wanting to produce her art even to the point of taking such risks even though she is such an established musician is so reflective of reality that I feel you really did it justice. Not to mention the ending utterly cathartic for readers, or at least for me!

In some ways, I enjoyed this almost even more than Our Love. I think the challenge with Our Love is that it spans so many years and such a long time that as a writer, you're forced to narrate and do more telling. Because Fierce Protection happen in a shorter amount of time, the showing is really strong, giving the events in the story an increased sense of immediacy. I could really feel Alex's frustration and relief at times.

One interesting thing that came out in a way it didn't in Our Love is Alex's thoughts on how Aiden was a buffer. Perhaps that is the only piece that casted some shadow of doubt for me because I felt like there were implications that Alex and Mercy alone would never have worked out. Even the hint of that made me wail inside.

The only other thing I may caution is check your usage over some of the expression words like "smile" etc. I struggle with this a lot myself. There are tools online where you can copy your whole story through and it'll show you all the words and frequency of appearance.

The ending is perhaps one of my favourite things about the book. The fact that Alex blames himself but how the other two quickly tries to stamp out the guilt is a true display of brotherhood in a way that is absolutely heartwarming.

That's about it. The book has been an extremely easy and enjoyable read for me and I look forward to the next one in the series!

This was a good read. I ended up reading the entire thing. Despite not having read the original story I was able to still follow the plot. And despite the spoilers I now want to read the original book.

What did you think the book was about?

Polygamy with a couple and how the lifestyle affects their lives and relationship. From what I have read other people look at the couple differently from the rest of society, and they are now accepting themselves even though they are different.

Did you feel that the book filled your expectations?

It was honestly a smooth read for me. Some times I have a hard time reading material, although reading through this was enjoyable. I enjoyed the sex scenes. They were descriptive and made me sweat a little bit which is the purpose of it. The scene was realistic.

What about the plot?

The plot is different from anything I have ever come across bookwise. I have watched documentaries and horror stories about polygamy. I have watched a couple of movies too but never seen it in a book where a couple was happy with the lifestyle. It was interesting reading about it in a males perspective on how he is fine with his wife being in other relationships, but also craving her all to himself.

Do the characters seem real and relatable?

So far I can't exactly relate to the characters because I have never experienced polygamy. Although, the feelings of truly being in love and only their touch can set your fire on insides I can relate to. The emotions portrayed are very similar to what I feel for my own spouse, and I don't think anyone could ever make me feel the way he does. I love the intense relationship.

How was the pacing of the chapters you read?

I enjoyed the pacing. It was not too fast, or too slow for me. It was just right.

How was the description of the chapters?

There could be more sensory details in the chapters to describe the characters and settings. There is plenty of dialogue and internal dialogue. Sensory details with the five senses can make the story come alive more.

Describe what you liked or disliked about the authors writing style?

I honestly enjoyed the voice and storyline. I enjoy hearing about how a man appreciates his woman and how much he craves her. I think it's incredible to see a man's set of emotions instead of a female. He is a strong male lead which was refreshing to read. The only thing I disliked was the long chapter with the backstory to the book and characters. I actually didn't read it. I skipped over it because after reading two paragraphs my head hurt so I moved right along to the story.

Would you read more of the author's work?

Yes if her writing continues to stay as smooth as this book with the same pacing and an excellent voice to lead the book, I would love to read more of her works. I think this is very well done. :)

1. What did you think the book was about?

— I had an idea of what the book was about because I've read a few of the first chapters from the prequel. But I didn't get that far, to the point of when the other love interests started coming around in the story. However, I knew from the summary and the tags, that this book was about a couple who are celebrities, fell madly in love, but struggled like any other couple on the planet. But, unlike many couples, their relationship had twists and turns. One that changed their entire life around.

2. Did you feel the book fulfilled your expectations?

— Because I only read the first three chapters it didn't fulfill all my expectations. It was mostly about how Alex felt about Mercy, and how much he loves her. There wasn't a lot of plot development going on except the unexpected music producer— who so happens to be a bad guy and will most likely harras Mercy. Therefore, Alex talks to Henry about convincing her to rethink doing her music with this new producer. I did however like the scenes with Alex and the kids, that was very cute and sweet. As for the sexually explicit scenes, well, that's always a plus. They were described vividly.

3. What about the plot? Did it pull you in; or did you feel you had to force yourself to read the book?

— I didn't feel forced to read the story. As I said earlier, I think there wasn't a lot of plot development except for Mercy's producer retiring and being replaced by another producer, who will most likely harass her at work. So, her husband and other companions need to come up with a way to stop that from happening or find someone else to produce her music. The intimate scenes always pull me in, especially if there is a lot of TLC involved.

4. Do the characters seem real and believable? (Basically, can you relate to their predicaments? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know, if they do at all?)

— Well, I can't relate to polyamorous companionships because I've never been in one, however, I do have a friend who was in one. I have a deep respect for any relationship as long as people are happy and love each other equally. Even though the characters are fiction, there are people in the world who can relate to them. Therefore, some people can relate to this companionship.

5. How was the pacing of the chapters you read? (Consider if the scenes skipped or jumped randomly. Too fast or too slow? Why?)

— I always thought the pacing of this author's stories were not too fast not too slow, it's an in between. Considering this is a complex story and plot, the author was smart to write the plot development in order and with as much detail as possible.

6. How was the description of the chapters you read? (Consider if there where any information bumps. Were there a lack of emotions, too little describing, telling rather than showing, etc.)

— The descriptions were vivid, intimate, and showing rather than telling. There was no lack of emotions, on the contrary. I think Alex's character kept the motion in the ocean throughout the story. it comes to show, that no man is an island. Plus it tells readers that even men are emotional human beings too. We can't judge a book by its cover.

7. Describe what you liked or disliked about the writer's style? Why?

— I for one, don't dislike this author's writing styles. They write concisely, and they're organized. You can understand everything that's going on in the story. This author is best at describing a character's romantic, adoration towards their love interest. It's pure and real.

Fierce Protection in my opinion is a story about a woman and one of her men in her polyamory relationship struggle to work with a manipulative man, but the story is told through her husband's point of view. This story wasn't what I first thought it would be about, but it's an ok one. I personally wouldn't read it as it's about a polyamory relationship and I don't usually read material like that, but I could tell this is a good story for those who do enjoy reading this kind of stuff.

The title was what pulled me into the story, but as far as reading, like I've said it's good just not my style. The characters are believable from the few chapters I've read. I'll personally have to read the first book to get a full understanding of the story to fully see how the characters personalities carried over. Right now this book seem like I'm placed in another story without really getting to know the character.

The pacing was good in my opinion. It wasn't too fast or slow. The descriptions were on point. I loved the bits of information about Sweden. The writing as a whole was good. I didn't see anything wrong grammatically with the story.

The dialogue was great. As for the relationship dynamics, I'll have to read the first book to better understand them but so far they are looking to be ok. I didn't see any problems with editing from the few chapters I've read. And for me I would have to read the first story in order to better understand the story.

I had to read the first book Our Love In An Unforgiving World to understand the between Mercy and her three male lovers. I cried my eyes when Mercy had a rough time since her mom died from cancer but seeing how much it took a toll on her I understand why she couldn't accept Alex's love. But when I read Fierce Protection I was amazed that Alex would do anything and I mean anything to protect Mercy from harm even when that Maverick guy was a perverted creep for trying to rape poor Mercy. But in the end Mercy and Alex are really happy and lucky to have a huge family and friends to support their LGBTQ relationship with Aiden and Henry. This story is people must want to read. Good love, good sex, and good people.
