《Erotic Book Club (E.B.C) 2019》Cinderella (Feedback)

Cinderella is a charming story about a woman learning to trust and love again in a world that's not always forgiving. I'm a bit of a fairy tale geek. I've read more than my fair share of the "original" fairy tales as well as their modern re-tellings, and the Cinderella archetype is a particular favorite of mine.
This story, I'm happy to say, does not follow the western idea of what a Cinderella story should be. The bones are there, but the author makes this story her own. Nothing is in your face and abrasive.
The characters are very relatable to me, and seem so real and down to earth. Sigh... I want a Paul, but I'll just have to settle for reading about him. I find it very refreshing to have these kinds of characters in new reading material. The writing style was lovely, and for English being her second language, was very well written!
Would I read more? Absolutely!
~Dandi
I only read a few chapters but I like what I have read so far. The story is well written and I like the characters. Probably my favorite thing in it so far is Tessa and Ava's friendship. Paul seems like a really likable guy too and I liked how sweet he was. I do think that they kissed a little bit too quickly, but that's just a personal preference. Overall I think you did a really good job!

I truly love this series! Every book so far has been beautifully written. All the characters in your modern day fairytales are so much more relatable than the originals.
I really loved how Tess was so different from the previous two women MC's. A lot more introverted and shy compared to your first two books. I found myself rooting for her within the first few chapters!
Like your others, this book is beautifully written. Each chapter flows nicely and makes it easy to keep reading along.
The entire series is something I would gladly pay for on iBooks or Amazon. Keep up the awesome work, and great job on another lovely modern day fairytale!

When I saw the title my first thought was that this was a modern retake on the classic fairytale. The blurb made me think maybe not. Of course, this made me wonder why the title name was chosen.
When I figured out the name thing I was drawn into the character.
Tess is a successful woman. She has her own business and she is raising a younger brother. But she is single.
Paul seems to be a capable young man and I sense he will prove to be persistent.
Honestly, the blurb did not draw me in. However, once I started the book I was drawn in. I like the writer's style. I sense that Tess is not gonna make things easy for Paul. I would definitely read more from this author.

I wasn't really sure at first whether or not I was going to like this story. The summary doesn't give too much away but still interested me and I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the sweeter vibe this story gives off especially from Paul. I think both the characters are cute together but Paul's sweet attitude is refreshing opposed to the normal broody type male characters you're used to reading about. Both the main characters have a younger more immature attitude towards sex and relationships which some people don't like reading but I've always enjoyed. I always enjoy reading books that portray steamy but fun and sweet young love. And I didn't have any issues really with the details and descriptions, I thought the writer did an excellent job with the overall plot and story as well as the little details in dialogue and description. I definitely look forward to reading more of the writer's work to see if they are as good as this story was.

I love this story so much!!! It is tender and sweet with just the right amount of spice and fire! The characters have amazing chemistry and the little brother and service dog only add greatness to the story!
I have not completed this book (on chapter 20 now) as of yet but plan to continue it until I do. Compassion is felt when you read this story. I simply cannot get enough of these two.
I barely even notice any of the grammar errors or the past/present tense errors once I got started on this story. I simply had a very hard time putting it down. I hope you continue to write more because it was a pure joy to read your reads!

Cinderella is a delightful story about Paul and Tess. It's the third book in the series and it concentrates on these two specific characters. Paul, the keyboardist, and singer of a band meet a florist, Tess, who has her hands full with running a business and taking care of her fourteen-year-old brother due to an accident that left them without parents. Did I mention Hank the adorable golden retriever who gets all the attention and is my favorite? Anyone, Tess and Paul experience some ups and downs as they find their way to each other.
Yes, it did fulfill my expectations and more. I thoroughly read the book and it was everything a romantic book should be.
At first, Cinderella didn't appeal to me, but after reading the first few chapters I definitely felt in love with the characters. I love the chemistry between Tess and Paul right away. And the plot had all the right twists and surprises. If you're like me and read the other two books before this one, you'll see why this story was captivating right from the start.
The characters' situations are both believable and relatable. However, I've never been in those situations to know what is real and what isn't. Nevertheless, they seem and felt real.
I thought the pacing was on point. There were times where I wanted the story to hurry up in part but that's because I was excited to find out what happened next. There was the right amount of description and dialogue in my opinion.
I can't say I dislike anything about the writing style. I mean sure there were minor errors, but overall I enjoyed the story. The style is easily readable. I love the characters the most. Their emotions and probabilities come off nicely.
I will most likely be reading more of this author's work especially since she had said that Aaron is getting his own story. I thoroughly enjoyed this series so far.

I was thinking at first why the title is Cinderella, everyone knows that fairytale so I thought that is her name. But as I read it, I finally understand where it came from, it's from PUMPKINS! The story is about Tessa whose parents are dead at an early age that she needs to handle everything for the sake of her younger brother. I love the bonding of the two, impressive conversation too. The flow of the story is smooth and easy to understand. Tessa is lovable, to become a parent and forget your own self, it is admirable.
The character builds up is well done too. I enjoy the first meet up of Tessa and Paul. Reading only three chapters, I felt already the connection between the two. The friends added spice on the story, they have different characters that make the leading man/lady more charismatic. And I love how the people surrounding them are linked to each other which leads to their meeting up again (what a small world as they always say).

I don't find anything to correct since the plot is well written and every scene helps more to understand the situation. Worth to read and I enjoy every chapter.

Cinderella is my second favorite book Lilly has written so far (My first is Peach). It still impresses me how well she writes as a whole when she is not a native English speaker. Not only is the sentence structure and flow well done, but her spelling and grammar is also some of the best I've seen thus far on Wattpad. The story is adorable and I love the plotline. Paul is, of course, the best. This is not an in-your-face book. That's not Lilly's style. It is a lighthearted romance you can easily get into any time you want a sweet escape from the craziness of life. The love scenes are well done, nothing too crazy. (Not everyone likes the type of crazy sex some of us write, myself included.) I think that gives her books a wider appeal. She gets us wild girls to read and the timid readers who would be put off with things that are more adventurous like BDSM or multiple-partners. We need writers like Lilly who write the middle of the road type of sex scenes. It helps that she does them well.

I got a clear idea of what the book was about based on the synopsis the author provided. I like that the author provided an excerpt as well because although sometimes synopsis sounds good and I think it is a book I will like the author's writing style turns out to not be something that works for me. This allows me to get a bit of a peek at it and decide if it is something I want to read more of.
I haven't gotten through the entire book yet as my life seems to have exploded at the moment but in the chapters I have read so far, yes it does.
I did not have to force myself to read the story the flow was good, chapters were a good length and the exchanges between the characters kept it moving and realistic. The characters seem believable and real, or could fit in a real-life situation (although am blessed to not have had to deal with that kind of loss at such a young age.)
The chapters go at a good clip which is nice, I tend to get bogged down in too much detail in chapters which typically has been skipping sections which might contain important details. It had a good timeline flow, you are able to clearly see how it flows from one day to the next, lining up the sequence of events to allow their relationship to develop, or be given the chance should she allow it to (again still reading it). There is plenty of dialogue between the characters which I like when telling in the characters POV as it flows better if there is more discussion.
The author was great with descriptions and Tessa has drawn me into wanting to know why she isn't willing to do a relationship with Paul. I like that I am left guessing as to why this is (suspect I will learn as I continue)as it brings me back to continue the story with eagerness.
I would certainly read more of this author's work. I am enjoying the flow of the story and learning about the characters.
I totally agree with your what your strengths are, dialogue absolutely and in a clever way that makes it real. I didn't find any issues (at least so far) with what you have listed as the weakest trait, while I do enjoy the pace of the chapters, I know that others like to dig in and have a story really last so others might find them going a little too briskly, I didn't but I like fast paced. I didn't notice any glaring grammar issues and think it is really well done. I look forward to continuing to read the remainder.
~Mary
I am going to have to say, right up front, that I love what I have read of this story. Reading through it, nothing stands out in the way of spelling or grammatical errors. The characters are all extremely likable, and it is partially because the main character has her own flaws and insecurities. I love the relationship between Tessa, her friends, and her family. I think that you've done an excellent job of making this feel realistic.
Taking a look at your 'weakest writing trait', I can't really say that I picked up on that. Given the nature of this story (contemporary, real-world setting, 'normal' type of people) I think that the vocabulary works. As a personal preference, I prefer descriptions to be a little more on the vague side, and your descriptions were more than enough to allow me to form my own images of the characters in my mind.
Now, for your help request, I think Cinderella works well as a stand-alone, and as part of the overall series. As a stand-alone, there are a whole bunch of characters thrown in there early on that are a bit overwhelming, but it seems to settle in as the chapters go on. I like that there are cameos from your other characters, and it kind of gives the whole series a very "Love, Actually" kind of feel.
~Liv
First of all, a big apology for turning this review late - especially since I wanted to read your story for a while, so happy to read something else from you!
I've always loved the way you write, how everything easily flows, but also the deep care you show for your characters and the real *love* that's expressed in your stories. And CINDERELLA is no exception. Your characters have flesh and bones, their emotions realistic - completely relatable - and while this is a series, all of them are standing out and differ from one another.
I loved seeing a male MC who doesn't feel insecure being sweet and caring, and this so important for a character like Tess who is introvert. Their chemistry is perfect.
My main suggestion would be to rework the blurb a little bit. You hint at what might block her to live her love story fully with Paul, but it could be interesting to tell us more — is it her past? An accident? Her insecurities?
A great love story who still has its nice share of steam and passion. You're talented, lady! Continue!
