"Dad!" I exclaimed excitedly before jumping into his arms.
"Hello sweetie!" He said smiling and giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"Mom!" I said also embracing her in a tight hug.
"I take it you missed us?" She chuckled wholeheartedly.
"Is your boyfriend here?" My dad asked.
"Yeah he went to get the plates." I said leading them to the kitchen where Mori was. He was at the counter nervously tapping the top of the counter.
"So you're the amazing Mori huh?" My mom said with a friendly smile.
He nodded and you could see the nervous sweat clinging to his face.
My dad chuckled and patted his back.
"We don't bite son!" He said before sitting down at the lounge table.
Mori let out a nervous laugh and stiffly walked to the table.
"It'll be fine they already like you." I whispered.
His shoulders fell back into their relaxed state and soon he wasn't nervous.
"So y/n dear we came here today because we have some news to tell you, but it seems you guys have beat us to the punch!" My mom laughed pointing to the huge engagement ring on my finger.
"Oh that's new!" My dad also laughed.
I saw Mori sinking into his chair and I softly hit his arm to get his attention.
"Well we were going to announce that Akira and Masa proposed a marriage between the two of you, and we figured before agreeing to it we would ask you first but it seems we were a little late." Dad said smiling.
"It seems so! Mori would you like to say anything?" I asked turning to him, hoping to squeeze a few words out.
"I'm sorry for not asking for your...blessing I planned it out and I just kinda spit it out so the initial plan didn't go as planned." He said slightly mumbling.
"We aren't old fashioned like that! If y/n Is happy we're happy!" They smiled.

"So Masa and I went over some things, and we decided on the color palette, Baby pink, and Burgundy!" My mom said pulling a file folder from her bag.
"So you've already decided?" I asked chuckling.
"We're willing to change if we like the colors you pick. Oh! Speaking of Masa they should be here by now shouldn't they?" Mom asked looking at her watch.
"Sorry we're late, Satoshi insisted on grabbing some greasy fast food!" Mori's dad said chuckling.
"Sorry dad." Satoshi mumbled.
"Hello dear!" My mom and Mori's mom said in unison.
Mom got up, and met Masa's open arms in a hug.
"You two are close." Mori said.
"So he does speak at a normal volume!" My dad joked.
Mori flushed, and simply nodded his head.
"Son don't be so bashful, this is your future father in law!" Akira said sitting next to my dad chuckling.
"And mother in law!" Masa and mom said.
"Ah yes!"
"Hi y/n!" Satoshi said giving me a big crooked smile.
"Hi Satoshi!" I said returning a smile.
"So what's on the menu?" Akira asked.
"Starting we have a Caesar salad, and the main dish is Miso glazed black cod, with sauteed mushrooms!" I said excitedly.
"Did you make it?" Masa asked.
"Yep!" I said setting the plates.

"So have you decided what season you want the wedding to take place?" Mom asked, having a large legal pad out.
"Maybe winter?" Mori said.
"Yeah winter would be nice." I said agreeing with him.
We were sitting in the living room, and I was somewhat leaning on Mori, and our mom's were sitting on the floor, in front of the coffee table with various scraps of magazines, and samples of sorts.
"Any preference for colors? Or should we keep the theme we've developed?!" Masa asked.
"I like dark blue." Mori said.
I giggled when I felt his chest vibrate.
"And you?" Mom asked.

"I like f/c." I said with a smile.
Masa and my mom gave each other a questionable look, while searching for color samples.
"This look ok?"
"What do you think Takashi?" I asked.
"I like it." He said nodding.
"I also love it!" I said.
"Well... Its not what we planned but its, something right?" My mom said looking at Masa.
"Yeah, it is something." She agreed.
"Alright! We have what we need!" They agreed, while getting their things and packing.
"Are you guys leaving?" I asked, sitting up.
"We have a meeting with the advisor, and with these changes we need to organize things." They explained.
"Ah, yes we'll see you soon!" Our dad's said getting up.
My dad handed Akira his cane, and helped him up.
"Well be bacl, and you two need to decide who will be attending." My mom said sternly.
Masa laughed.
"It's usually me who is stern!" She said with a big smile.
"Oh, and what is this I hear about a host club?" My dad teased.
"Really dad?!" I said in embarrassment.
"I'm only playing with you." He said.
I stood up, and gave my parents hugs.
"Thank you guys!" I said squeezing tight.
"If it's for your happiness there's nothing we wouldn't do." They said.
"Mom are you crying?" I asked.
"Don't be silly!" She said wiping her tears.
I started tearing up as well.
"Mom stop, look what you're making me do!" I said hiding my face in her shoulder.
"Don't blame me you sensitive little girl!" She said patting my back.
"Oh stop it!" Masa said said also letting a few stray tears fall, and joining our embrace.
I felt large, warm hands around my waist. I turned around and saw Takashi smiling softly.
I turned around and held his hand, and he pulled me into an embrace, his warmth now replacing our mom's.
"My baby is getting married!" My mom said sobbing into Masa's shoulder.
"My Taka-chan is getting married." She said also sobbing.
***
"I'm sorry for crying." I said changing into more comfortable clothes.
"There's nothing wrong with it." Takashi said from the bathroom.
"Its embarrassing." I laughed.
"Are you finished?" He asked.
"Let me put on a shirt!" I giggled.
"You're taking so long!" He said.
A few seconds I heard the toothbrushs fall.
I quickly pulled on my shirt, and walked to the bathroom.
"What on earth?" I said chuckling at Mori sitting cross legged on the bathroom counter, seemingly popping a pimple.
"Come here." He told me.
"What is it?" I said laughing.
"Pop this black head, my fingers are too big." He said pointing to a blackhead on his cheek.
"Ok, hold still." I said.
Pop!
"Get it?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said getting a tissue and wiping it off.
"Thanks." He said getting off the counter.
"Where are the dogs?" He asked.
"I took them to the doggie spa." I said plopping on the bed.
Takashi followed suit, and I bounced a little.
"Sorry." He said putting his arm around me.
"It's ok." I said turning over, and snuggling into his chest.
"You smell like those air fresheners that you plug into the wall." He said into my hair.
"You're so weird sometimes." I said laughing.
"I was thinking about kids." He said.
"You're aware I'm still going to be in high school next year right?" I asked, leaning up on my elbow.
"I know, but I think I only want 1." He said, "And after we both graduate collage."
"I can second that." I said.
"It's nice." He said.
"What is?" I asked.
"This."
"Yeah. It is."
"Hey,"
"Yeah?"
"I love you."
"I love you too,"

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
