Running a hand through her hair, Maddie got out of the car and walked inside the clubhouse, ignoring Jude who was getting off of his bike that he had packed in the garage and was on his way into the house.
She made her way to the kitchen, got a bottle of water, and walked into their room.
Taking a sip, she grabbed her yoga pants, and one of Jude's black T shirts. She walked into the bathroom and locked the door behind her, right as she heard the bedroom door open and Jude's loud footsteps on the hardwood floor of their room.
She turned on the shower, waiting for the water to heat up. Jude as she stepped into the shower, she heard the doorknob jiggling, then a bang on the door, he punched the door.
She went on with her shower, taking her time, being slower than usual, trying to give him some time to cool down, and honestly, she needed some time to calm down also. If she went out there right then, they would get into a huge fight.
After drying off and blow drying her hair she got dressed and walked out into their bedroom, where Jude was sitting at the end of their bed, in his dark jeans, his shirt off and draped over his shoulder. He stood up and took a few steps toward her. She took a step back, glaring at him.
"What was that about Madelyn?" He asked angrily, his eyes narrowing. "That guy likes you and you're defending him? Did you see the way he was looking at you?" He asked, glaring at her.
She rolled her eyes, walking around him. She was exhausted, and she definitely wasn't having his conversation tonight.
She pulled the blankets back and got in bed. She picked up her book on the nightstand and started reading, ignoring Jude's movements as he stomped around the bedroom, getting clothes and slamming drawers, then walking into the bathroom.
She heard the shower turn on, and after a few more minutes of reading, she put her book down and went to sleep.
Maddie woke up to someone shaking her what felt like an hour later.
"Hey, it's time for dinner." Jude said, his tone revealing he was obviously still upset.
She rolled over, groaning. "I'll eat later." She whispered.
"It is later, we all had dinner hours ago." He said, gently moving her hair out of her face.
"What time is it?" She whispered, opening her eyes.
"Ten thirty. I warmed you up a plate. You want me to bring it upstairs?" He asked her.
She shook her head. "No, I'll come downstairs." She whispered.
Jude got up and walked out of the room.
Five minutes later, Maddie walked downstairs, everyone was in the living room, watching a movie, the couches were over crowded, and some people were laying on the floor. It looked like the whole house was in there,- Minus the hang arounds that she couldn't stand-. It was 'family' only.

Maddie ate the steak and mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables that was sitting on the table for her.
When she got done eating, she walked into the living room and grabbed a blanket from a closet, sitting down on the floor in front of the couch next to Katie.
Katie smiled at her. "We're watching Saw." She whispered. "The guys picked it." She said, rolling her eyes.
Mac grabbed her, pulling her closer to him, ending their conversation.
Maddie turned to the screen, she had never seen the movie, and it was already halfway through.
Maddie felt a hand on her shoulder and looked up, seeing Jude standing next to her. He nodded to a prospect, sitting at the end of the couch, the prospect got up and Jude sat down, pulling Maddie up to sit with him.
Maddie looked up at Jude, then back to the movie. She was still mad at him she wasn't just going to pretend that nothing happened.
"Don't." He whispered in her ear.
She looked at him again. "Don't what?" She whispered.
"Don't act like I am the one in the wrong here. You shouldn't have been hanging around with that guy when you could see the way he was looking at you, you should have walked away, so don't be mad at me because I confronted the guy." He whispered against her ear.
She tried to get up but he grabbed her hand. She yanked her hand back and walked upstairs to their bedroom slamming the door.
Maddie ran a hand through her hair, sighing.
When he walked into the room, she glared at him, pickedd up a pillow and a blankte and throwing it at him. "Out." She said, pointing to the door.
Jude caught the pillow and blanket, rolling his eyes. "That's not happening, calm down." He said, putting his hands up. "I didn't come up here to fight with you. Maybe I over reacted a little, I just don't like seeing some other guy look at you like that, only I get to." He said with a smirk.
"He wasn't flirting with me, he was just being nice, Jude, we know each other from school, I borrowed his notes once." She whispered. "It's nothing." She said quietly. "Besides, if I hadn't gotten pregnant, we wouldn't be together right now, I was just a hook up to you, you didn't care anything about me before I came back and told you that I was pregnant, so don't act like you love me or something." She mumbled.
Jude rolled his eyes. "Yeah, at first, that's all it was, but I felt more for you than any of the girls I had just 'hooked up' with. From the beginning I felt more for you, and that is not the only reason we are together now, if you wouldn't have left before I woke up you would know that." He told her. "I do love you, you know that, I wouldn't have asked you to marry me if I didn't, Madelyn." He told her angrily.

He bent down to kiss her forehead gently. "Let's go to bed, you look tired." He said.
The next morning, Maddie woke up to a banging noise. She jumped up but was pushed back down by Jude. "Stay down." He siad before grabbing something from the night stand and running out of the room. The banging went on for another thirty seconds, before tires squeeled and then it was quiet. She heard Jude yelling, then he walked back into the room.
"There was a shooting, we were targeted, no one was hurt, the house is just pretty shot up." He explained, helping her up off of the floor.
"Are you okay?" He asked her, looking her over. "I'm fine." She whispered, in shock. Why would they be targeted, she didn't get it.
"We're going to the house, I wanted to wait until we finished painting to bring you there, so you don't breathe in the fumes, but we'll just stay out of the master bedroom, the paint is dry in all of the other bedrooms though." He said.
He ran a hand through her hair.
"Okay..." She whispered.
After they packed, Jude sent Maddie and Katie to the new house, with a couple of prospects.
"Wow, this is your new house?" Katie asked, looking around. "Yeah, he proposed right there." She said with a small smile.
"I heard you two fighting last night, did you really think he is only with you because of the baby? Anyone can see that he is completely in love with you, just by the way he looks at you." Katie said.
"I know that... It's just the hormones I guess. I know that he loves me and that I love him too, it's just... Sometimes I doubt myself and I doubt his feelings for me... It just seems like I'm... Too happy, I guess, like it can't be real." She whispered.
Katie smiled. "It's real." She whispered. Maddie nodded, before the two went back to taking a tour of the house.
"What are the guys doing?" She asked one of the prospects, Hole, she thought his name was.'
"Not allowed to say." He said shortly.
Rolling her eyes, she glared at him.
"Ooh, you really want to piss off the president's pregnant fiancé'? He might be scary, but Mads angry is scarier." Katie said, shaking her head as she sat on the kitchen counter.
He guy shifted on his feet, looking at the other guy nervously. They shared a look before Mr. 'Not Allowed To Say' spoke up.
"Finding out who shot up the clubhouse." He said.
Maddie let out a nervous sigh, before going back to cooking the chicken that she and Katie were making for dinner.
An hour later, the prospects phone rang.
"Yeah?" He answered.
"No, they just got finished eating." He said, making Maddie look over at him.
The guy turned around, as if that would make the conversation more private.
"You don't want me to tell her?" He asked, quieter.
"Yeah, okay, I'll keep quiet..." He said before hanging up and turning back to the girls.
"What was that?" Katie asked, getting up from the table.
"Club business." He said, being short again.
"Was that Jude or Mac?" Maddie asked, crossing her arms.
"Neither." He lied, his eyes flicking over to the corner of the room, Maddie realized this was a tell..
"That was a lie, try again." She said, taking a step forward.
"What are we not supposed to know?" Katie asked, as the girls stalked forward.
Hole looked around, nervously, but Clip, the other prospect left ten minutes ago to go get Maddie some ginger ale. Hole was all alone and he knew it. The girls had the upper hand.
"Spill it." Katie said.
"Can't." He said, shaking his head, crossing his arms, trying to hide the fact that he knew he was toast.
Something was wrong, Maddie could feel it.
The next thing she knew, Maddie was kneeing Hole, right where it hurt him the most...
He fell to his knees, groaning in pain.
"Maddie!!!" Katie said, shocked. Then she started laughing. "I can't believe you just did that." She said in between laughing fits.
"Tell us what happened." Maddie said angrily.
"Fuck!!! They went to another club, a rival club that they thought shot up the clubhouse, it turned into a fight, Jude was stabbed, he didn't want to worry you." He said, laying on the floor.
Maddie paled, he was stabbed?
Katie grabbed the keys. "I'll drive." She said.
"Clubhouse." Hole rasped.
Right as they got into the car, Clip pulled up, making a U-turn, he sped off after them, she could see him in the rearview mirror, making a phone call.
"He will be okay. It's Jude we're talking about." Katie told her best friend, looking over at her worried face.
Maddie nodded, taking a deep breath.
"What if he's not?" She whispered.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
