the blonde didn't expect to see that, not at all. it was a wave of shock that she almost stumbled, thus, making a sound but not enough for the two to notice.
jennie's room was a mess.
there were loads of littered bottles laying on the table and some on the floor, her books were scattered as well, some pages ripped and out of place, and a broken mirror with remains of dry blood.
what shocked lisa is the girl hastily fixing her shirt..as if she've just put...put it on her. as if...
lisa gasped. did she...?
the stranger accidentally bumped her on the shoulder due to her hurried movements, breaking the thai's thoughts and theories. their eyes met, and what she saw was how terrified and vulnerable she looked. she furrows her brows even more, confused than ever. it isn't what she thinks it is, right? jennie couldn't. she shook it off once she heard the door closed.
and then the next scene broke her heart.
jennie broke down, slowly sliding onto the glass window to her knees, her sobs filling the four corners of her messed up room. her cries got louder and louder, mumbling incoherent words then she starts to punch the wall.
it was chaos. it was hurricane.
lisa never dealt with hurricanes before. she's too naive to know how to calm the hurricane. it's much stronger than her.
but it hurt her seeng the love of her life this way. it was so heartbreaking, she too wanted to cry, it was too much. a tear roll down her cheek. sne sniffles, still remained on her position watching the hurricane from afar. it wouldn't hurt if she tried to calm it down right?
"i was..s-suffocating j-just by seeing...y-you," jennie chocked out and cries harder.
lisa immediately gripped on jennie's wrists, halting her knuckles hitting against the wall, squeezing it. jennie moans in pain and pushes her away, but dumb luck.
lisa turned jennie to face her. the love of her life's face was filled with so much pain and tears, shattering her again and again. she tries to ignore the pain and focused on how to make jennie feel safe and happy again. lisa wipes her tears away, kissed them away, and embraced jennie in a protective, caring way.

"jennie no, jennie, shhh." lisa whispered as she embraced her further. jennie's sobs were muffled by lisa's neck, her shirt pooled by jennie's tears.
"jennie it's alright. i'm here. i'm here," lisa purred, slowly making their way towards the bed bot even planning to break the hug.
in lisa's arms, jennie feels safe. she feels protected and loved and wanted and all the good things she haven't felt for a very long time. the feeling and knowledge of this helped her calm a bit.
"nini it'll be alright. i'll stay here with you, i'll stay." and with the thai's words jennie's sobs subsided and hugged lisa tighter, like she'll die without her warmth and protection.
they stayed in that position for an hour, stayed in that position until the brunette stopped crying. until she felt okay again. and lisa is willing to wait, no matter how long it'll be.
jennie stopped crying, replaced by ragged breaths and still hugging the thai. her eyes were swollen and puffed out, her cheeks flushed but nonetheless she still looks so wonderful, always in lisa's eyes.
lisa on the other hand had lots of things in mind, everything that concerns to jennie's situation and the possible reasons why she's being like this.
lisa caresses jennie's hair, lost in her thoughts, unaware of jennie's subsided sobs. only then she realized the brunette stopped when she broke the hug, a sight of her nervousness and fidgeting of fingers. jennie couldn't make eye contact with her, because she is now beyond terrified of what the blonde would think of her. lisa, she wants to know everything. she wanted to punch the person who hurt her, who hurt her nini.
"jen..." lisa held jennie's fidgeting fingers and jennie eventually stopped, her whole attention to the younger except her sight. lisa raised jennie's chin by her index and sad pools of brown met endless concerned doe-eyes
jennie's eyes were puffed and swollen. she was shaking slightly while lisa just stared at her, mesmerized by her cat-like eyes even if she'd been bawling her eyes out.
"i-i'm-" jennie tried to speak but lisa placed her index against her lips to shush her. she embraced jennie like a baby that needs to be protected at all costs. "it's okay nini you don't have to say anything," lisa whispered.

"what did you saw when you entered?" jennie questioned, trembling. her head is leaning against lisa's chest, feeling the thai's heart beating erratically, alike hers.
"aish, i told you not to say anything." lisa dodged the topic. if jennie starts talking then lisa will start asking. "let's just cuddle."
"i won't be calm until you answer me. what did you saw, baby?" jennie practically whined and broke the hug. her mind was running wild, whatever the thai saw will surely make her regret the impulsive decisions she made.
lisa was hesitant to tell her yet that's what jennie wanted. "a woman..who was fixing her shirt as if she just...she just–" her question got cut off when a tear rolled down jennie's cheek. lisa frowned.
jennie started crying again. lisa hugged her and told her it's alright. that she shouldn't say sorry because whoever that girl she was with, she doesn't have the right to get mad at her. they're both just a couple of friends, she doesn't have the right to.
"i m-met her yesterday. she-she accompanied m-me last n-night." jennie explained, hiccups interjecting her. so she never returned after she left?
"and we were both drunk and woke up with her this morning uncovered. i-i'm such a mess, lisa," jennie explained with hiccups present, suppressing another episode of her cries.
lisa couldn't utter a single word. jennie slept with someone? she really didn't know what to say nor react. so she mindlessly stared at her, unsure of what to do. "you probably despise me now. disgusted–thinking that i'm such a whore," jennie lowly said in full shame and hung her head low. she couldn't meet lisa's eyes just after saying the mistake she made.
"no jennie it's not like that. i was analyzing what just happened, " lisa truthfully said and embraced her again. she wanted to ask questions but she should give jennie space. whatever happened last night sure did break the brunette's heart.
"you know, i used to do that, a lot." jennie started and laughed bitterly. "i used to drink at bars and sleep with random girls." jennie expected a disgusted reaction from lisa, but lisa's face was unreadable, plainly listening to what jennie says.
"i did that for months, not caring about my studies nor what my parents would think of me. i was..obsessed over removing my feelings for someone whom i loved, who meant the world to me–who couldn't reciprocate it. so i did everything to forget her. even if it was only temporary i wanted to clear her inside my head, to stop caring for her and wondering what she is up to. i did everything lisa, eventually it stopped, but it returned once we saw each other again."
lisa was lost for words. she is indeed falling deeper in love with jennie. the way she did everything just so she can forget the one person who couldn't return the feelings for her, and loved her still. when jennie loves someone, she sure will love so hard and hurt so bad in the end. a part of her wished she was the girl jennie was pertaining to, so she would know the feeling of jennie's love for her, and if she is just the girl, she will never ever think of hurting her. she deserves all the wonderful things in this world.
"do you mind telling me who is she?" lisa asks, unsure.
"i'm not ready yet," jennie rejected and formed a small smile. "it's alright." lisa said and smiled back.
lisa had a lot of questions, but she set aside those because jennie is exhausted and whatever she is holding in. so she wrapped her arms around jennie while jennie rested her head at the crook of lisa's neck, smelling the vanilla scent in lisa's skin. jennie felt comfortable, thanking the gods that lisa didn't bombard her with so much questions. thus, she closed her eyes whilst lisa hums a soft tune, making her sleep.

The Order of Sekhmet

It is naturally far from being peaceful, but the blade-wielding, fourth-wall-breaking protagonist certainly wouldn't have it any other way. Egyptian deities? Check. Sword fights? Check. Demonic arts? Check. Burning passion? Check. After all, blood is a good moisturizer. Please note that I have flagged my content. There is and will be content that may trigger you, particularly if you've been through toxic relationships. While I do my best not to paint these moments in the best light, they exist and are crucial parts of my story. Things are kicked up a notch beginning with chapters named 'The Old World'. Everything before is (nearly) vanilla. Update schedule is every Thursday/Friday, varying times!

Despondent Divinity
There exists a Great Seal which split the world in two, one half ravaged by the Darkness, the other a safe haven of Light. Since the collapse of the old world, 20,000 years have passed, and the world watches on as their only protection from the Plague of Plagues slowly dissipates. Only the strong may survive the oncoming Demon horde, and the forgotten prince, Jack Calmira, fears he may not have what it takes. In a world where weakness is punished by death, what are weak men to do? Author's Note: Expect a chapter or two every month, but I'll get faster eventually. This story isn't a Wuxia, but it has a lot of eastern influence. The MC isn't OP and is flawed. Less action, more character driven. Constructive criticism would be appreciated as it's my first story. Chinese culture has inspired a lot of the novel, but much of it is an amalgamation of different cultures, some made up and some not. Think Xianxia + Shounen with a mix of western and eastern fantasy elements.
