《do you》xix

"hey," jennie approached me with two cones of milk ice cream.

"you bought that?" i asked her and she sheepishly smiled and gave me the ice cream cone. i furrowed my brows as i looked at her intently while eating her ice cream.

"what are you looking at?" she asked then blushed.

"i'm not really used to seeing you being too–generous and unlikely you," i said straightforwardly. "is this a treat?" i asked again, licking the ice cream.

she laughed. "yes, manoban. just a little treat to congratulate you from your outstanding performance," she said then smiled. "oh," i couldn't think straight as to my heart beating so fast again.

"a kiss would be better," i said bluntly and absentmindedly. i widened my eyes in shock in realization of what i just said and looked at jennie in embarrassment. her eyes got wide as well, absolutely caught off guard to what came out from my lips. "oh no i'm so sorry i didn't mean it–" i quickly apologized but got cut off by her laugh. why is she laughing?

"i never thought manoban wanted to kiss me," she said teasingly. "yah! i said it was an a–"

"would she like it to be on the cheeks or on the lips?" jennie asked while looking at me flirtatiously. i'm baffled as fuck.

i got flustered and blushed madly. she laughed again. it's like she's used to all these teasings and i can't keep up at her pace.

"why are you suddenly mute, baby?" jennie asked then chuckled again. oh what, baby?

then she looked into my eyes and saw something i couldn't decipher what.(maybe i can, but i just don't want to confirm if it's really it). like a magnet, she started leaning closer and i'm doing the same, like i'm hypnotized by her eyes. we are just an inch close 'till we–

a ringing sound buzzed from my bag. i quickly pulled away and muttered, "damn it." i coughed and answered the call.

"fucking park chaeyoung," i muttered.

"what the fuck manoban? language," she protested. i groaned. "what you want?"

"congratulations pokpak!" she announced cheerfully and i smiled a bit. "thanks homie," sarcasm is laced on my tone.

"so can you go here at my house later? we're gonna have a party!" she shouted.

"ugh, i don't wanna meet people chaengie," i groaned.

"just us. i have jisoo and you bring your friend," chaeyoung mumbled.

"ugh, fine." i forcefully agreed and ended the call.

"hey nini?" i asked for her attention whilst using the nickname i gave her. "what?" she asked, red tint on her cheeks visible.

"would you like to go with me to my friend's house? just to celebrate my "victory"," i said with air quotes on the word victory. she nodded her her, "i'm free tonight lili!" then smiled.

we arrived at chaeyoung's house forty minutes after. i casually looked at jennie while we wait for the door to open. i furrow my brows in curiosity; she kept on shifting looking uncomfortable. "you okay?" i asked. she nodded and gave me a smile. so i just shrugged my thoughts off then focused my attention to other surroundings.

a few seconds later, the door opened, welcoming us by jisoo's goddess-like face. it's nothing compared to jennie, i thought. jennie hugged jisoo and jisoo gave her a curious look from behind. i went inside the cozy house of the parks (which is occupied by the park sisters since their parents work back in australia) and immediately sat on my favorite couch.

i noticed a few helium balloons on the ceiling and some more balloons on the floor. there were party hats and other party things in the living room. i thought we're the only people celebrating here?

"chaeyoung-ah!" i called to her. i heard her voice, "anghhh," from the kitchen and immediately went there. she was already preparing the foods we're about to eat. "ta-da!"

"you didn't really have to do this," i told her and she shook her head. "i did this for you—and also because i have nothing to do."

we called jennie and jisoo and started eating. i sat beside jennie and across me is jisoo.

we talked about random things and sometimes laugh at jisoo's corny jokes. (can't help it). we seem to be getting along very well but it's jennie that i worry about. she doesn't speak that much or bicker at my jokes. she's just sitting there while chewing her food silently. what's wrong, jennie?
