《do you》xii

for the past nights jennie couldn't sleep properly, always tossing and turning around the bed and switching her lamp on and off just to fall asleep. for the past few days, she can't focus on one thing, always being reminded by a certain blonde and her smile's always pictured in her head, her laughters echoing in her ears. for the past few days she doesn't know why she clings and spends most of her time with her(it wasn't her fault that she's always available). for the past few days jennie's unsure of her feelings for lisa.
lisa. lisa. lisa.
it's driving her insane.
"ughhh," jennie groans and rose up from her bed, sleepy eyes looking around her dark room. she switches on her lamp and lays down again, covering her face with her pillow as she muffled her screams. "what is happening to me!?"
then again, she starts to play with the switch on her lamp, boring herself, closing her eyes. she felt relief when sleep rushed in her. finally, she can–
a knock on the door was heard. "what?!" jennie groans.
a messy-haired, sleepy lisa entered the room with a concerned look on her face and jennie abruptly sat up, fixing her bed hair and looking at lisa in confusion.
"what are you doing here?" jennie asked coldly, yet her eyes were warm as she looked at the blonde.
"i heard screaming," lisa mumbles. she approached her. "are you okay?"
'you were the cause of it,' jennie almost blurted. "why wouldn't i be okay?" jennie asks back, making lisa frown slightly.
"i'm just being concerned. should i sleep with you?" lisa asked as she sat on the side of jennie's bed, making the other girl's sleepy eyes widen.
jennie's feelings started stirring up, her heart pounds and beats fast, she was getting nervous. she wanted to reject the younger, but seeing how sleepy she is, she didn't want her to return back to her bed by walking an effort. (it was actually an excuse.) it's a waste of energy so why bother sleeping on the same bed with her?

"fine," jennie huffed, acting as if she's annoyed. she saw lisa smile and lay beside her, who was still sitting. "aren't you sleepy?" lisa yawned and patted the space beside her and jennie followed, trying to calm her beating heart.
lisa turns off the light, and jennie swore she heard her heart beating fast. or was it from the blonde?
"you know you can always open up to me," lisa started in her raspy, sleepy voice. "there's nothing to say," jennie replies, her sleep dropping off. "i'm just saying, i'm always here for you, unnie."
jennie sighed as she heard what lisa said. "please don't call me unnie," she said disapprovingly. this made lisa raise her brow and tilted her head. is it weird if you see light in a person's eyes?
"why so?" lisa asked curiously. "just–don't," jennie answers with hesitation in her voice. lisa is being more intrigued as the time goes by. there is really something about her that she can't pinpoint what. "c'mon, you can tell me anything," lisa insisted. "please respect my privacy," jennie retorts sassily and they both laugh, louder that the sound of their heartbeats.
"do you like someone?" jennie didn't know where the courage came from, but she needed–no, wanted to know the answer. it's not as if she's expecting for an answer she desires right?
lisa didn't reply immediately, analyzing what jennie had asked. "why so random?" she heard lisa mumble. it took lisa a few moments to answer and it took jennie a few moments to let her heart beat madly. "of c-course i d-do," lisa stutters, mentally facepalming herself. jennie chuckles slightly, facing lisa. lisa tilted her head more and now they're facing each other.
"can you tell me who's the lucky girl?" jennie asked in a teasing tone and wiggled her brows. "no!" lisa almost bolted up when she answered. jennie was shocked at the blonde's reaction. what's wrong with asking?! "o-okay," jennie laughs to lighten the mood.

jennie felt something again. "what do you like about her?"
"opening up to you while talking about her is just something too much. however, she is really beautiful and amazing." and i want to be with her. with you. it took a lot of courage for lisa to tell jennie, lowkey pointing out the person she madly likes. "it's someone you might know.." lisa added. was i too obvious?
beautiful and amazing...who could it be? she said it's someone i might know? who could it be? jennie wanted to interrogate her, make her spill the beans yet it'll uplift the thought of her liking lisa. so she shuts her mouth, dismiss the thoughts and hums in response.
"do you like someone?"
for a moment jennie thought. do i like someone? are these emotions a sign of liking someone? i don't know. it's not her first time feeling this, it's just that it's been a long time since she encountered these mad emotions that it now became foreign for her liking.
"how would you even know if you like someone?" jennie asks; so curious, so intrigued.
"how you would know? why, have you not liked someone before?" lisa asks in curiosity and jennie disliked it. "just answer me, dammit."
"okay." lisa turns to face her. "it's admiration at first. seeing her just completes your day, whenever she's not around you'd wonder where she could be, what is she doing, who is she with. and whenever you see each other your heart beats so fast like you've ran for a mile. she makes you smile like an idiot from every interaction you get, and it's already enough until you start to crave for more and more. until you realized you've fallen for her deep, you're in love with her."
there's love in lisa's eyes. there are stars everywhere, they are shining so bright it almost blinds her. and then she looks at jennie, and it's there, the look, the truth. and jennie's too blind to see it because there's fear in her eyes and hesitations and somethings else.
she's too afraid of what she feels, she's denying everything in her mind and her heart starts to beat so fast like she have ran a mile and lisa's still looking at her like she's the most beautiful art she's ever seen.
jennie's not ready to take the risk.
