she walked in a quick pace as she spotted her tall friend, hitting her on the shoulders. the tall girl winced in pain at the sudden attack and glared at the source.
"what the heck is wrong with you!" she whined, rubbing her shoulder.
"i should be the one asking you that," lisa retorted. "why did you leave me with a bunch of teenagers i barely even know?! did you know how worried i was? did you know that i almost got laid?!" the thai shouted as chaeyoung covered her mouth in shock.
"you almost got laid?" she asked, shocked written all over her face. "but why? who would want to–ow!"
"that's not the point here. you left me without saying a word, park chaeyoung." lisa firmly said while furrowing her brows. chaeyoung gulped hard.
"i'm really sorry lalisa," chae pouted cutely, making lisa soft but didn't show it. instead, she hugged her best friend tightly.
"lisa–i can't–breath." chaeyoung panted while and she just smiled.
"i wasn't really mad." lisa clarified.
"i can clearly see that now, " she said with a weird expression as she examines lisa.
"who owns that? you never wore pink hoodies." chaeyoung asked, her brows now fuurowed. lisa's smile almost reached her ear. chaeyoung narrowed her eyes, getting scared of her best friend's expression. who could blame her?
the thai hugged her best friend again, but quickly pulled off. "thank you thank you thank you rosie!"
chaeyoung was perplexed. this is very unlikely lisa, chaeyoung though. she shook her playfully. "oh my god lisa are you okay? did a bad spirit entered you? please bring back my lisa!" she shook her even more yet lisa just laughed it off.
"how silly of you chaeng. i'm just so glad that i had coffee with jennie!" she. exclaimed while grinning widely.

"jennie kim?" chaeyoung asked confused.
"the one and only!"
chaeyoung rolled her eyes. "and here i thought something exciting happened!" she threw her hands heavenwards.
"and here i thought something exciting happened!" lisa mimicked. "of course, idiot! i drank coffee with jennie kim!"
"it's not very exciting. you know how she treats people. she hangs out with them and ignore them afterwards."
lisa pouted. "stop being a killjoy and be happy for me!" chaeyoung just chuckled.
"who laid on you though?" she asked. "i still can't believe someone would waste their time on you," she joked playfully. lisa blushed while playing with the hem of the hoodie.
then it hit chaeyoung. "you got laid by jennie kim?!" she asked loudly in pure shock, lisa quickly coveringher mouth with thenglared at her. chaeyoung arched an eyebrow.
"hush, child." lisa whispered. some of the students were looking at our direction. "people might hear you."
although it's a bit uncomfortable talking about jennie and her friend, chaeyoung still acknowledged the topic. "so how was she in bed?" chaeyoung teased while smirking.
"we–we didn't do it." damn lisa, why did you have to stutter?
"is that disappointment i hear?" chaeyoung teased even more.
just then, a familiar figure passed by them and lisa knew it was jennie. it was her first time seeing her in school.
before chaeyoung could even notice the brunette's presence, lisa quickly bid her goodbye and ran.
"jennie!" she called out excitingly, but jennie is too busy in her own world. lisa quickened her pace and tapped jennie's shoulder.
jennie spun around, greeting her with her straight-face. she flashed her bright smile and greeted jennie.
"hello there!" she greeted enthusiastically.
"what do you want?" jennie asked, uninterested in her presence. she is not in a good mood. which is, all the time.

"about your hoodie. i'm sorry i couldn't give it to you. i'll just–" she was cut of by jennie.
"don't. keep it." she simply said and started walking again. lisa clearly knew that she doesn't want her company, but it's not bad to try again right?
before jennie can be away further, she stopped jennie's tracks by these words.
"do you want some ice cream? maybe strawberry or milked-ice cream?" jennie immediately turned around, her eyes glistening. the word milked-ice cream never failed to excite her.
she flashed her gummy smile and walked in front of her. "your treat?"
lisa's smile grew wide. "my treat."
—•—
"mmm. this ice cream is the best!" jennie exclaimed as she ate her second milked-ice cream. i smiled with joy as i ate my own. jennie is like a little kid who looked like it was her first time eating ice cream.
i can't help but laugh lightly, causing the brunette to look at me. "what's funny?" she asked.
"nothing," i replied then smiled at the brunette. she smiled in return.
i noticed a stain on the side of jennie's lips and taking the initiative, i took a napkin and wiped it off her face. "you eat like a kid." i teased. jennie smiled sheepishly.

after eating her fourth ice cream, jennie decided to stop, since she's already full and it's getting dark.
they talked about random topics and laughs at lisa's silly jokes, and jennie acting annoyed at lisa's "ehee."
before they even realize it, they're already in their room.
"what a long day," lisa yawned and jennie hums in agreement.
jennie entered her room without even uttering a word to lisa, which lisa didn't mind. she's already used to this side of jennie.
but at least, she spent her afternoon with jennie, her crush. lisa smiled, reminiscing their small moments together.

Four story anthology
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] [participant in #NaNoWriMo] Preface: This fiction will contain four different stories set up as a challenge for myself and to get better at writing. The challenge for royal road writathon is a 55.555 word goal while the nanowrimo challenge is 50.000 words. Reader suggestions is turned on, feel free to point out errors I missed and I'll fix them up! Chasing sun, napping softly: Cultivation/Xianxia genre. Some parts will poke at the ridiculousness of the Xianxia gerne. We follow the life of a magical fox monster, who doesn't like how the cultivation world works. Said beast seems to have more knowledge than is usual for normal magical beasts. In it's infinite wisdom it decided to search for the main character of the cultivation world to have a cozy and safe place beside him. Our fox will act as a "wise beast" to coast along on the main characters rise to greatness, all for peace, happiness and that amazing napping spot in the sun. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing in first person. Comedic effect between talking vaguely and sounding wise. The cost of heroism: A story more centered around fights and mental health of hired mercenaries/heroes. The world is infected with an eldritch corruption. Humans are trying their best to explore and clear out wilderness and the dungeons hiding in them to establish new cities. Lords seek for hired hands to do the professional work. Thanks to the setting, the story will show how awful pasts are the norm and how pragmatic people became thanks to that. People exchange their sanity for riches, fame and gods acceptance. Interpersonal relationships change drastically and quickly. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing grim scenes/imparting a feeling of how grim the world is. Writing fight scenes. Showing different mental states. Describing their influence on people during fights, walks or even after successful or failed campaigns. Who will be the next powerhouse? : A story about a gaming show, it's host Staan and the different participants. Stereotype characters, stereotype backstories, silly challenges and quizzes. The winner of those challenges gets powerups for their power system. Be it magic, ki, psychic power or anything else imaginable and unimaginable to reach the power of gods. The challenges for myself with this story: A softer tone for storytelling. Making the reader smile and enjoy themselves. A different try at slice of life story. I was left behind on earth as my family conquered another world and enjoys riches, but that's okey because I got a cheat too! : Stereotypical Isekai story parody twisted into an Urban Fantasy story. The challenges for myself with this story: Writing over the top and overdramatic scenarios/scenes Writing in first person. Walking into stereotypical scenarios and making them more dramatic/giving them a twist. Different type of humor.

And then imagine being stuck… But you’re not only stuck because you can’t get any further, but you are also stuck because you can’t get out anymore This is the story of gamers, or should I say brave swordsmen who fought to clear the game, to beat the boss, to be alive. This is the story of a game, the story of… The Age of Swordsmen *************************************************** A guaranteed chapter every Monday + out of schedule chapters when I feel like it :pAuthor's Note: First Novel I ever published here. May remind some of SAO, but yeah... It actually isn't really like SAO at all. I would appreciate any corrections of grammar/spelling errors since I'm not a native English speaker. In addition to that, this is a 'First Draft', so I may edit a few things in old chapters when I feel like it.
