《do you》i

it was my first day in korea and it's not going great. it was supposed to be fun but i guess i'm wrong. looking from side to side, deciding on which path i should take. to simply say,

i am lost.

i am lost in the busy foreign streets in seoul, with rushing workers, laughing friends, cars waiting for the signal, and opened stores.

chaeyoung was with me the whole time. my childhood best friend i've met back then in thailand, my homeland. she's my tourist for today and it's so sad to say i've lost her. maybe never see her again too.

i released a sighed. if i wasn't just distracted from the squishy plushies then i would be eating with chaeng like she promised me, i thought. i stopped walking when a pathway of left to right greeted my sight. i chose the right side without second thoughts and saw tons of restaurants and street foods that made my stomach grumble.

'my only god please let me be with chaeyoung again. i promise to be a good kid again.'

but prayers aren't immediately granted. the world is telling me that it's my fault and it's what i deserved.

i sat on a bench nearby and let my genius mind work. what would i do if i was lost in a place i don't know?. if kids were lost, they would shout and cry but i'm too old for that. i could ask for random strangers if they saw chaeyoung. yet i don't even have of chaeyoung.

or i can ask for some random dude's phone and dial chaeyoung's number? thinking for more less embarrassing approaches, my mind goes blank. so i decided to do the latter.

i stood up and took a deep breath. seoul has gotten crowded unlike before, more opportunities to borrow their phone for a minute. 'they look like meanies, i'm scared.' i thought childishly, never having the courage to approach intimidating people.

when i turned my head to the other side, i saw her. the most beautiful person i have ever laid eyes upon.

she has this wavy brown hair that cascades down on her shoulders, mesmerizing cat-like eyes, adorable and squishy cheeks, and heart-shaped, luscious lips.

she was busy talking on her phone without even noticing a thai girl drooling over her, which is me. i almost slapped myself for looking like a creep at the sidelines instead of actually approaching and asking for her phone.

"...yes, please feed kai and kuma for me and don't feed them chips again, they only eat dog food for goodness' sake!" she pauses for a moment to listen to the other line. "yeah fine, i'll buy you chicken," she said as she sighed and ended the call. it was my cue.

"e-excuse me," i stammered and patted her back. she quickly turned around, her visuals slapping me. "what do you want?" she asked coldly while giving a glare. (she can kill me now.)

'can i ask for your number?' my thought almost slipped. 'lisa, focus. you'll end up homelss if you keep getting distracted' i tell to myself, thus, now getting focused.

"u-uhm, if you don't mind, may i borrow your phone for a bit? i need to call my friend because i got lost. he-he,"

i say and awkwardly laughed, making her soften a bit. "you got lost?" her brows were furrowed and grinned. she lent me her phone.

i gestured her a small smile and quickly dialed chaeng's number and it ringed.

"rosie please pick up," i mumbled under her breath while tapping my foot impatiently. "hello?" her voice made me smile widely, rescue has come.

"rosieeee! oh my god i thought i was lost you! i'm so sorry rosie please forgive me i know you're worried and all and maybe crying ocean or looking for me with the police but babe, chill, i'm fine okay?" i babbled excitingly, not noticing the beautiful lady giggling at my antics.

"oh my god, chill lisa. first of all, i'm not crying an ocean. i would be really glad if i didn't get to see you so that i won't be able to take care of a baby in a seventeen year-old girl that is you. kidding aside, i'm so happy you weren't slaughtered pokpak, where are you?" hearing chaeyoung's kiwi accent made me relieved.

"oh thank god you asked me, you took forever to speak. anyways, i'm here standing in the middle of tons of restaurants and street food and mind you, i'm getting hungry with the sight," i said as my stomach grumbled.

"alright, just stay where you are. i'll be right their in about ten minutes," she said.

"ten minutes? that's too long!" i complained. "the cotton candy looks so yummy lis, i need it." before i could interfere any further, my friend ended the call.

"and here i thought i'll be homeless."

"excuse me? my phone?" the owner asked interrupting my thoughts.

"oh yeah right, sorry," i mumbled and she laughed it off. i suddenly got fond of her laugh. it makes me feel butterflies knowing i was the reason why.

wait, hold up. butterflies?

"you look cute when you're nervous," she complimented, not knowing how weak i got.

first, her features are utterly amazing. no words can describe how great she looks like under the scorching sun. second, she helped me by lending me her phone to call my friend. and now, she's telling me that i'm cute even though i look like a total monkey.

"uhm, thank you?" i utter shyly but it was more of a question. she giggled. "maybe we could see each other again," she said then winked.

i know it's too early to say this but, i think i'm in love.
