《Alphas》Wolfsbane and Silver

Brooklynn had been in dozens of battles and wars, and she had never been afraid. She was always excited for a fight, but not this time.
This time she was terrified. Not for her own safety, but terrified for the safety of the teens that she was training. None of them were good enough fighters to take on this many rogues. Even Brooklynn herself was doubtful of her ability to keep everyone safe.
But she was still going to fight to the death for them.
Brooklynn's knife went whizzing through the air, landing in the center of a rogues head. It dropped to the ground, dead.
She ran to retrieve her knife, yanking it out of the rogues head just to stab another in the throat. It made a gargling sound, clawing at its throat. Brook pulled the knife out and continued advancing on the rogues, stabbing and slicing and throwing her knife at whatever target she could kill.
Brooklynn lost track of everything else that was happening around her until she heard a scream fill her ears. Remembering that she still had the trainees to protect, she snapped around and sprinted back towards them.
A rogue was on top of Emilia, who seemed to just have regained consciousness after her fight.
What a pleasant sight to wake up to... Brooklynn thought, running over to the rogue and slicing its throat in one quick cut. It fell off of Emilia, who anxiously wiped blood off of her face and stood up.
"Thanks," She mumbled. Brook nodded, and shoved one of her knives into Emilia's hands.
"Get out of here, take the others and run. Head towards the creek and stay there, do not make a fucking sound and be on alert." Brooklynn barked out orders, watching Emilia sprint back to the group.
She turned back around to face more rogues. Their lifeless red eyes stared her down, completely ignoring the group of teens who were scrambling to get to the creek.
They were all skeptical of leaving Brooklynn to fight the brunt of the rogues, but they were too scared to disobey her orders and get hurt. But few of the teens didn't care about her orders, she was their luna.
As Brooklynn ran at the rogues, she began to feel sick. And it wasn't just nervousness or fear, it was her mate. She could sense that he was hurt, which was weakening Brook by the minute.

Connor! She yelled into the mate link, but there was nothing.
She began panicking, distracting herself for long enough to get taken down by a couple of rogues.
Shift you dumbass. Her wolf scolded her. Brook felt stupid for not shifting earlier, but without wasting another minute in her weakened human form, she shifted into a gigantic gold werewolf.
Her wolf had no issue throwing the rogues off of her. But instead of bothering to kill them, she ran. She was more desperate to find her injured mate than to waste her energy and time on rogues.
She kept running, jumping over and dodging rogues. She could feel her wolf slowing down and becoming weaker.
Connor was hurt bad.
But just as she started to get close to him, a wolf slammed into her side. She tumbled to the ground, her wolf weakening even more.
Brooklynn tried to get up, but she couldn't. The wolf, who wasn't a rogue, stood on top of her.
In fact, it didn't take a genius to tell who this was.
It was Percilla the bitch. Even in wolf form she was ugly.
But that was beyond the point, the point was that Brooklynn was weakened thanks to her mate and Percilla stood over her. She could tell that Percilla was ecstatic that she was in a stronger position than Brook was.
But even with Brook being weakened, she would never consider taking Percilla as a threat.
With one bite to Percilla's shoulder, Brook was back on her feet. Even in her wolf form, Percilla made Jabba the Hutt look like a supermodel.
To say that Percilla was ugly was an understatement, she was painstakingly hideous-It made Brook want to stick forks through her eyes just so she didn't have to see her.
But focusing her attention back to the girl- who was snarling and already charging at Brook, attempted to bite Brook.
Silly child. Brook thought. I'm going to enjoy ripping you apart limb from limb.
Brook was using her Luna link, which allowed her to talk to anyone in the pack at anytime. And Brook was certainly pleased to know that Percilla heard her.
Not leaving Percilla any time to react, Brook slammed her weakened body into her-the girl went rolling onto the ground, dramatically.
But before Brook could finish the job and rid the world of another bitch, a wolf flew into Percilla-which knocked her out.

She looked at the wolf in irritation, but dropped it once she realized who it was.
It was Kai.
What're you doing? Brook shouted at him. It's not safe for you here!
It's not safe for you either. Kai snapped back. Forget it! We need to get you to Connor. Brook nodded in wolf form, running as fast as she could in her weakened state.
Ten minutes ago she felt like she could take on ten rogues at a time, now she wasn't sure if she could even take on one.
But it didn't take a genius to see how much an injured Connor was hurting Brook. Kai himself was able to keep up with the girl who could once outrun everyone.
We're almost there. Brook cried out to Kai-as if she was encouraging him. She could feel Connor, almost as if she was standing right next to him. His presence was radiating like a fireplace, filling her with warmth when she knew that he was still alive.
Over there. Kai nudged his head in the direction of Connor, who was lying on the ground in human form. He was close to dead.
But when Brook saw what was happening, all of her strength suddenly seemed to resurface. She charged at the many rogues who were slowly torturing Connor. She could sense their joy-like children on Christmas Day.
It was sickening.
A loud snark erupted from Brooklynn's mouth-but by the time the rogues looked up, two of them were dead.
Kai was helping her kill them, but with the anger and hate that Brooklynn had bottled up inside of her, he only had one wolf to kill. Pretty soon, several rogues laid on the ground-limbs scattered across the forest floor, and blood staining the trees.
The eyes of the rogues stared up at the sky, lifeless. The memories that they all held were released, and they were forgotten.
Brooklynn didn't care, her mate was on the verge of dying thanks to them.
Without hesitation, she shifted and ran over to Connor-Ignoring the brutally cold air that was running over her naked body.
Brook had forgotten about Kai until he started to speak.
I'm clearing the area, stay alert.
She didn't bother to respond, looking back to her mate who had managed to crack open his eyes.
Even in his weakened state Connor wasn't thinking about himself. He was focused on Brooklynn who kneeled in front of him, naked, but he didn't let his eyes linger-Despite wanting to stare at her all day. Instead, he stared at the scratches and bruises that had formed on her beautiful skin.
He was ready to murder whoever had hurt her.
"Brook," He croaked. His voice, though raspy, sent warmth through Brooklynn. "You're hurt." He started to reach his arm up to touch a scrape that painted her, but stopped when she grabbed his hand gently.
"I'll be okay," She whispered. "We need to get you help." Connor saw Brook glance down at his stomach. At first he thought that she was checking him out, but when he saw what she was staring at, he began to panic.
"Connor, you're going to be fine." Brook said, not sounding very sure of herself.
Stuck in his stomach was a very large silver knife, coated in wolfsbane. And like she was chopping onions, the smell of the wolfsbane burned her throat.
"I have to get this out," Brooklynn mumbled. She knew the pain that the wolfsbane was going to cause her-She had been burned by wolfsbane before. And definitely comparable to the worst pain that she's felt, wolfsbane sinks to your bones and stops you from healing if not removed.
Before Connor could protest, or even stop his mate from removing the weapon, she pulled.
A loud brutal scream erupted from both of their mouths. Brook threw the wolfsbane silver to the ground, glancing at her hand to see it burned to the bone.
"Brook." She heard Connor say, but she felt like she was underwater. Everything seemed slower-quieter.
She had already known the repercussions of wolfsbane and silver, but she couldn't let it kill Connor.
As much as she'd hated him in the beginning, she couldn't bring herself to hate him now.
Sleep, child. The moon goddess said to Brook. You're safe.
And very rarely did Brook listen to the moon goddess, but this time she did.
She let herself fall onto her side, facing Connor-The wolfsbane taking it's toll.
And as Connor watched Brooklynn's eyes close, he let his do the same.
