《Alphas》The A team

Brook stood in front of the teens who were warming up for training. She could tell that they were tired from yesterday's training, though they had really only did cardio.

She noticed Kai, who looked completely healed. She was happy to see that he was still laughing and joking around with his friends, after all he took a pretty hard beating from Brook.

"Kai," Brook called. He turned to her and she waved him over. She heard a few of his friends whistle. So she shot them dirty looks. They stopped immediately and looked down.

"Yeah?" He asked, scratching the back of his head. She picked up on his anxious demeanor and hid her smile.

"Good job yesterday, and I'm not just saying that to be bitchy." She finished, and Kai smiled.

Brook had to admit that Kai was pretty cute, but that is something that she would never say out loud. Connor would flip shit.

Kai appeared to be mixed, having brown coiled hair and light brown eyes. Everything on him seemed to blend together perfectly, like a cake.

Brook's stomach growled at the thought of cake.

Food whore. She thought to herself. I'm surprised that I don't weigh a thousand pounds.

"To be honest I've never had my ass beat, aside from you and Percilla." Brook was surprised to hear this. Not that he was basically undefeated, but he'd be defeated by Percilla.

"Dude," She shot him a look of disappointment. "How the hell do you get your ass kicked by Precilla?"

"Look, not everyone can be Brooklynn Bradley. You've had years of training, years of being around leadership and years of sparring with people. That's more than anyone in this pack has ever had." Brooklynn shrugged her shoulders, not being able to disagree.

She had years of experience over these wolves.

"Everyone line up on the line, and get into teams!" She ordered, shooting a smirk towards Kai.

Kai, along with the others, feared for their lives.

What kind of torture were they about to experience?

"Since I killed you with cardio yesterday, today we'll only do two rounds of races." She heard cheers come from them, and some of the people even high-fived each other. "The winning team gets to miss out on the rest of conditioning today...And the losing team has an extra set of suicides."

Murmurs spread throughout the group, and she laughed when she saw others threatening each other.

"Does every team have five people?" Brook asked, subconsciously counting the teams.

"Ours doesn't!" A girl with dirty blonde hair shouted. She was probably fourteen or fifteen years old. She looked to the line and noticed that Kai was standing in that line along with another boy and another girl.

Brooklynn started heading over to the team, ignoring as all of the other teams watched her in anticipation. She could practically hear them praying for her not to join their team.

But she did anyways.

"Hey, that's not fair!" People started shouting.

"I'm in heels!" Brooklynn yelled, smiling when everyone went silent. "If you guys can't beat me while I'm in heels then I don't know what to tell you."

"You sons of bitches are gonna lose!" Kai shouted. Brook turned to him and gave him a look that made him instantly shut up.

Brook stepped in the back of the line, behind a beautiful red headed boy. Brook had never seen anyone who looked like him before, he not only had super curly red locks, but he had hundreds of freckles on his tan skin.

His orangish-hazel eyes made contact with her before quickly turning away.

"On your marks, get set, GO!" Brook shouted, watching the teens take off sprinting.

It was interesting for Brook to see who could excel in both speed and stamina, both were important. Speed can get you far in the beginning, but you need stamina to keep you there.

She noted who started out in the front, but fell behind shortly after they started. And she noted who could maintain their pace the entire time if not go faster.

She watched the people in her lane who were all surprisingly fast. Even the younger boy who was probably about eleven was outrunning. She learned his name, along with all of the others on her team.

The red heads name was Theo.

Nevaeh was a Cuban girl with gorgeous thick almost blackish hair and nice eyebrows. Brook had learned that Nevaeh was extremely fast along with Theo, but she lacked stamina.

Then there was the dirty blonde with blue eyes named Emilia. She came off as really shy and timid, but she was also fast on her heels. She almost ran gracefully.

And last there was Kai, who definitely impressed Brook with his running.

Finally, he tapped Brook's hand and she took off running. A large smile ripped across her face as she passed multiple people. She knew that they had doubted her ability to run in heels, but if you wanted to be able to fight you had to work in all types of shoes.

She looked to her side to notice that the closest person was Tre, and he was a good four or five yards behind her. She had felt proud for Tre who was four years younger than her and was still faster than the majority of the teens that were older.

Brook ended the race by crossing the line first, and her team erupted in cheers. The other teams groaned, knowing that they still had to do the conditioning.

But Brook took one look at them and changed her mind, they had all ran a hard race. So she would give them the break today.

"You know what, change of plans." Half of the teens looked at her with hope and the other half just looked worried. They probably thought she would make them do it again like she said she would, but Brook felt like being nice. "We're going to practice sparring instead."

Cheers erupted from the group which for some reason seemed to be bigger. She noticed a few new people who she hadn't seen before.

Brook started pairing people together by their height and weight. She tried to put smaller people together and bigger people together.

Overall Brook had about forty people to pair off, which was a rather large group for her to be training. But it wasn't that hard to get them to respect her, partially because she was their Luna and partially because they thought she would beat their asses if they didn't show her respect.

One by one they sparred with each other, and like amateurs they fought. Half of them weren't even able to throw a jab without overextending and falling forward.

And so group by group she would teach them the proper fighting techniques, and she was pleased to know that the majority of them were fast learners.

But there were some that struggled, who were losing every fight that they had fought.

Tre and Emilia stood out, and not in a good way.

Tre had lost three out of the four fights that he had fought and was currently sitting on a bench with ice.

And Emilia was laying on the grass knocked out for the fourth time today.

She felt bad for the ones who weren't good at fighting, but Brook had to learn so she could teach them. Because everyone could be good at fighting if they really tried and practice.

"Excuse me, Luna?" Someone said, tapping her on the shoulder. Brook looked to see the little red headed boy, Theo. He looked scared, frantically looking towards the tree line.

"Yeah, Theo?" Brook asked, shifting her gaze over to where Theo kept looking.

But once Brook caught the scent of rogues, she knew why Theo had become worried. But Brook wasn't worried, she was terrified.

But she hid it, contemplating her options.

"Theo, go back to the other wolves and calmly tell them to stop fighting." Theo nodded, before he walked back to the group. She could see him shaking with every step he took and she watched him go around to everyone.

Connor there's rogues! She frantically shouted into the mate link.

But Connor didn't respond. And Brook had developed a feeling that something was horribly wrong.

She wanted to run as far away as she could, but before she could think otherwise a voice entered her head.

Don't run, Brooklynn.

It was the moon goddess. Brook had forgotten that she could talk with the moon goddess due to how long it had been since the moon goddess had responded.

"Well then what do I do?" Brook whispered, she was panicking. "Every direction that I look I can sense rogues." And it was true, she had known that they were outnumbered greatly by the rogues.

Don't be scared.

This however seemed to irritate Brooklynn. She was surrounded by rogues, with inexperienced fighters and the moon goddess was telling her not to be scared.

By now, every single person was staring at a different part of the tree line. Panic was evident throughout everyone, making the air feel heavy and making it hard to breathe.

And as the first rogue bolted out of the tree line, Brook had already pulled out her knives.

She was ready to protect her pack with her own life.
