《How to Create a Purrfect Prophecy》What is a prophecy, anyway?

So, you've created a character, and now you're ready to begin? Alright! Great! Let's just get right into it, why don't we?

First, let's look at some canon prophecies:

"Fire alone can save our Clan."

"Four will become two, Lion and Tiger will meet in battle, and blood will rule the forest."

"Darkness, Air, Water, and Sky will come together and shake the forest to its roots."

Every time you read these, they just got you, right? You were probably confused. Well, that's the main purpose of a prophecy. The prophecy in your story is meant to captivate the audience. This means that the prophecy should keep your readers entertained and interested, urging them to turn the page in your book.

The prophecy should foreshadow the future. If your prophecy is done correctly, it will make the reader think about the future in the book. If they have questions, they will be more tempted to continue reading so that they can get answers. Foreshadowing could be at the end of a chapter: "...But things were about to get much worse." Another example of foreshadowing could be: "Things could only get better. Right?" See? What questions do you have?

-"What's going to happen?"

-"What will go wrong?"

-"Will (situation) get worse?"

These foreshadowing situations feel ominous, or like it's only going to go further downhill.

See? The prophecy determines whether or not your book is worth reading. Thats why you need to plan them! So, without further ado, lett uce (again?) begin!
