"Sprints!" coach Kemp yells then blows the whistle. Some of the players groan.

"Sprints!" the captain of the team, Zack, says. We start doing our sprints. Then coach Kemp's phone rings.

"Keep sprinting!" he says. And as soon as he turns his back Caleb, a linebacker, trips me.

"sorry." He says, I know he is not though. I get up and dust myself off.

"Practice over!" coach Kemp says. "Dylan, I need to talk to you." He says. I run to him as the guys go to the boy's locker room.

"Yes coach?" I ask.

"Dylan, I say you fall a few minutes ago. Did Caleb trip you?" he asks.

"No sir." I lie.

"Dylan don't lie to me or I will make you run more laps."

"Sir, I'm not a snitch." I say.

"Just tell me."

"I can't."

"Fine go shower." He says. I go to the girl's locker room. I am used to the team hating me, I am the first girl to ever try out for the team and make it. I moved here at the beginning of the school year. At my old school I was first string quarterback, and no one made my life this hell, they accepted me and cheered me on. But here I am on the team and my life is hell.

Tomorrow we will find out what string we will be one. There are three people trying out for quarterback, me, Zack, and Patrick.

I drive my best -and only- friend home on the way to my house. Chance is the only one on the team who has given me a chance. Chance is a right tackle. I drop Chance off and head to my house.

"Hey sweet heart." My mom says. "How was practice?"

"good." I say. I walk to the basement, my big brother's room, he and his friends are playing madden.

"How was practice?" Dean, my brother asks.

"hell." I say as I walk to his small fridge in the room and grab a water.

"Jackasses getting you down?" Tony, one of my brother's best friends.

"More like pushing me down." I say.

"Do you want me to teach them a lesson?" Dean asks.

"They will only hate me more." I say and set down between Dean and Gavin.

"They don't hate you." Dean says.

"Yes all of them." I say.

"Chance doesn't hate you." Dean says.

"That is only because he is my best friend." I say. "I have homework that needs to be done." I say. I always do my homework in here. Dean and his friends are in college so they always help me. Gavin is good with English, Tony is good at science, Dean is amazing at math.

I pull out my calculus homework. After spending twenty minutes on one problem I finally ask for help. Dean does the problem in less than a minute without even doing scratch work.

After homework Tony ask me to play madden with them. Of course I accept. And like always I win. I am beast at madden.

"So how is college going?" I ask them.

"You now, parties." Tony says.

"And hot college chicks." Dean adds. I roll my eyes. Will they ever grow up.

"Good luck tomorrow. I know you will kill 'em." Gavin says. Gavin doesn't talk much but he is super sweet.

"Thanks." I say.
