A hundred emotions were rushing through my head at that moment. Had i just heard right, that me Maia Jasmine Steel a city girl who volunteers at the local tourist centre had been chosen to be an intern at her favourite club the club she'd grown up with Liverpool Football Club. Not for a month no for a whole season, a whole football season....

The professor could sense she was unsure so he turned his laptop screen around so that she could then confirm that it wasn't a dream and that it was really happening.

I didn't need to think of an excuse to not take the internship I knew that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. So i turned towards my Professor of three and a half years with no hesitation and said " I can't believe it". He looked at me and told me what i would have to do to confirm the offer and told me to think about it before making a big decision then regretting it. He then turned to his laptop and started typing away.

I turned around before i exited the hall and said "Thank you sir " the Professor smiled and carried on typing on his laptop.

I rushed to the local Costa never once stopping smiling.

Jordyn and aaliyah were sat in our usual spot in the corner.

"Girls you'll never guess what just happened!" I said a little too excited. Both of my friends both looked at one another and gestured for me to go on. "So our Professor told me stay behind right" they both nodded "Well he said he had received a email from the internships team, saying that they've picked a number of students to go on programmes for months or longer" they both looked at me a little confused and unbothered by this piece of information. They looked at one another and gestured for me to continue. "And I'm one of the students and the programme I've been chosen to go on is Liverpool Fc for a whole season ".

Both aaliyah and Jordyn both screamed at me and jumped up from their seats to give me a hug they were so excited for their friend and hoped that this was just the start for her.

For both girls they dated footballers who played in the premier League so they had been to Anfield a couple of times and done the whole VIP experience where's Maia had only been a regular Fan going to a match. Maia knew that this could he her big break, her time to shine and show off her skills and while doing that she would be living every football fan's dream.

Three hours later...

Me and the girls finished our lunches and decided to go home. So we were all sat on the floor of mine and Jadian's shared bedroom listening to Drake and Laughing with a bottle of bubbly between us.

Aaliyah stopped the music and the room that was filled with noise was now silent, you could hear a penny drop it was that quiet. I looked towards her and said "aaliyah what's up?" Jordyn was sat smiling at her phone and giggled but then realised that the room had gone silent. "So are you going to accept the offer?" I shrugged thinking for a moment "I have nothing to lose, like an offer for anywhere is amazing but to be personally picked by the social media team at Liverpool fc is something that might never happen again. I've got to Email them back asap and they should tell me what will happen next".

The thought of being a member of staff at Liverpool fc was truly astonishing. Maia never took life for granted and she was living her dream.

Later that night...

I sat in her fluffy socks and Silky PJ's at my computer desk near the large bay window looking out on the university campus. All the other girls were out on dates or having nights in with their other halfs as they had a couple of days free because it was the start of the season.

I had been thinking of writing an email to the administration's at Liverpool to accept their offer. I felt happy and also nervous at the same time joy and nerves accompanied ms. I sat there ready to type the email that could change my life and kick start my career.

Dear Mrs or Mr,

I'm writing to accept the place that was offered to me by the administration's team at the Liverpool university. Which entails to be an intern at the club for the season being on the Photo media team etc.

I'm very grateful for this opportunity. I've followed and continue to follow he clubs history and the team and your players.
