《I Do. (August Alsina)》I Do, 10

"Christian, come here. Mommy has to ask you a quick question." I shouted.
Today was Thursday and today, I had this beautiful day off.
Since August voiced how beautiful I was, I've been on this road of expressing how beautiful I was to myself or just plainly making myself happy with myself.
Every morning and night, I stare into my bathroom mirror and tell myself I'm beautiful and with every test, there's a testimony.
"Yes, mommy?" He ran into the kitchen.
"You know Mr. August right?" I ask and he nods. "How would you feel if he took us out to dinner?"
"I wanna go! We never go out to eat, we stay here and eat all the time!" He expressed dramatically, he even went to the depths of grabbing his stomach like it was aching and falling on the floor. "I thought I was gonna die."
I straight faced him for a bit, before a smile appeared on my face. "You silly boy, come here."
He laughed loudly, walking over to me. "Yes, mommy."
I grabbed his arm, tickling him. "Do you like Mr. August?" I asked.
I watch his facial expression as be began to smile harder. "Yes! When you we're at the doctor buildin', he brought me a snicker and a Reese Cup. Mommy, it was so good. He even pray for you and he say your favorite scripture!"
My heart warmed up a bit and smile a bit brighter. "What scripture? I have a lot."
"H-he said thou wilt um k-keep him in perfect uh uh peace," He said excitedly, but continued. "Whose mind is stayed on thee because... Because he trusteth in thee..." He finished staring at me, like I suppose to correct something he said.
"Where is it found?" I smile. "And if, only if you get it right I'll call Mr. August and tell him we could go out tonight."
His face lit up even brighter, if that's possible. "Isaiah chapter twenty-six, verse three! I know it, mommy. Call him!"
I burst out laughing at my son. He so excited to go out and eat like I don't cook for him here.

My little crazy man.
I pulled out my phone and called the number August gave me. I bit my lip in anticipation, waiting to hear his voice.
"Helluh." He answered and I kid you not, my heart swelled up.
"H-hi, this is Sarah." I stated.
"Wazzam, Sarah?"
"Uhh n-nothing, you?"
"Amazin', so I know there's a reason why ya called. So, what's da' reason?"
I sighed, "I wanted to take up your offer on having lunch, i-if the offer is still on the table. I asked my son and I think this could be a nice experience for us."
"Coo', how 'bout ta'night at 7? I know a restaurant up da street from da' studio. I could pick y'all up."
"Oh, no thank you. We could meet up at the studio, I wouldn't wanna waste ya' gas."
"Nah, it's coo' ya' feel me. I know you catch da' bus and shit and I don't want you or ya' son to get in some type of trouble. What's ya' address, baybeh girl? I'm pickin' y'all up." He insisted, sternly.
I sigh again, feeling defeated. "678 Parkview. We apartment number 78. Just ring when you're here."
"Aight, luh. Get ready, it's already goin' on 5:30. I'll be there at 7." He said, before hanging up.
Ugh, that was kinda rude. No goodbye? Or see ya later?
"Come on, Chris, let's get ready before Mr. August comes." I said, grabbing his hand, pulling him toward the bathroom.
I wash him up, made him brush his beautiful teeth over and picked him out his outfit for tonight.
"You so handsome!" I cooed, tickling his sides.
He laughed, trying to run from me. "Mommy!" He shouted, still in a fit of laughter.
"Okay, I'll stop, listen while mommy is in the shower, I need you to watch Spongebob or Paw Patrol until I get out, okay?"
He nodded, running to the living room. I rushed off to the shower, so I could hurry up. I washed up, adding my favorite coconut body wash.
I got out, putting lotion on my body. I began to get dressed, not really knowing what to wear. I just settled for a simple outfit.

Beep Beep
Time to go. My nerves we're acting up on me. I felt like I was going to throw up.
"Come on, Christian. Mr. August is here." I said, grabbing his hand. We walked out together, meeting August at the front door.
I wave at him, as Christian ran to him, giving him a hug.
"Hi August!" Christian said.
"Wazzam!" August said back almost more enthusiastic than Chris.
I smile. " Hi, August."
"Wazzam baybeh." He smiled.
I smiled, staring at his attire. I couldn't lie, he looked handsome.
He smiled down at me, "You jackin' ma' style Sarah?" He joked, taking my hand, leading Christian and I to his car.
"Of course not, m-maybe it's just an all black everything day." I said.
"August, guess what? I start school dis' year. Mommy tol' me I goin' to kindergarten. What if I get bad grades in there. I know my abc's too. Listen, a, b, c, d, e, g, h, i, k, x, y, z. See!" Christian said loudly.
"You fa'got some lettas thea', lil man. We gon' work on it doe'." August said still driving. "So, Sarah, tell me a lil sum sum bout ya'self."
"I'm 21, from New Awlins, have a 5 year old. There's not much to it, ya' know." I said, trying to dismiss the conversation about myself.
"It gotta be mo'. What made ya' wanna leave da' NO?" August asked.
"Just some personal things that happened between my parents and my son's sperm donor." I rolled my eyes, sighing. "It was just too much for us and we just had to go. What about you? Tell me a lil sum sum bout ya'self."
He laughed, "I'm Aug, 23, buy me sum Popeyes and I'll give you ma' heart."
"You like Popeyes too Aug?! My mommy loves Popeyes!" Christian said loudly.
"Really na'? I guess me and ya' momma got a lot in common." He said glancing in my direction, while he bite his bottom lip.
I look away, blushing. "I guess."
After a few minutes of driving around and Christian embarrassing me, we finally made it to the restaurant.
"G-gunshow. Mommy that say gun." Christian said and August and I laugh.
"Lil man dis' is da' best restaurant outchea in Atlanta. They got streak, hamburgers, allat and mo'." August explained.
He let us out the car and I grabbed Christian's hand. For some reason I kinda wanted to hold August's hand, but that'll seem weird.
We got seated and began to look at our menus. As we got done looking over the menus and telling the waiter what you wanted, I look up to see August looking at a waitress' butt.
Rude...
I roll my eyes, giving Christian my phone since I knew he was going to ask.
"So, Sarah, how many brothas and sistas ya' got?" August asked.
"None." I said dryly.
"Damn, whea' ya' parents at? They live outchea'?"
"I stopped communicating to those people six years ago. I have no idea where they at." I said dropping my head, playing with my fingers.
"Lift ya' head up ma'. When you wit' Aug don't drop ya' head. Ion care if ya' see a goddamn penny onna flo', you pick dat' bitch up wit' ya' head held high." He sorta snapped at me, and lifted my head up.
W-what is this feeling I'm feeling in the pit of my stomach? What is August doing to me?
"S-sorry, it's kinda a habit." I stuttered, melting under his gaze.
"Stop saying ya' sawry. Whatcha sawry fa'?"
I bit my bottom lip, pouting a little. "I don't know."
"Right, so don't apologize. Ya' good ma'." He said, taking my hand in his.
I nodded and slowly let my hand slip out of his.
"Momma the food comin'." Christian pointed out happily as he seen the burger they had coming to him.
"Christian, are you gonna eat all that?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
He smiled, nodding his head. "Yesss."
He not about to finish nothing, lying butt.
I smiled at him, shaking my head at him a little. "Sure you are."
I looked up from Christian to see August staring at me.
