Chapter Six

It was pitch dark. I couldn’t see what was in front of me. After a few minutes of wiggling around in the chair and through the thick, clustered chain, I fell to the side. The chair clattered away from me as I struggled out of the tangled mess of shackles. I stood, shoving it off of me. It still hung on my arm, but I was able to move about. I put my hands in front of me and tried to feel where the walls were. Fumbling through the darkness, I felt a smooth flat surface.

I put my back against the wall and slid down until I was sitting on the cold floor. The metal chain rattled noisily as I hugged my knees to my chest and placed my head in my lap, falling to a light slumber shortly after.

When I awoke, I felt a need I hadn’t felt since I was in the club: I had to pee. Badly.

My chains shook as I stood. My leash didn’t give me much room to pace in. What else could I do?

Sliding down the wall yet again, I crossed my legs out in front of me and mumbled sweet nothings to myself, desperate to keep my bladder from exploding.

I stayed there for a long while before standing up yet again, ready to surrender and call for help. Just as I was about to open my mouth, the doorknob shook and in walked Xander.

We stared at each other before he finally spoke.

“Well? Gonna confess now?”

He tapped his foot and crossed his arms. I debated on whether to tell him to screw off or ask for his help. But my bladder really couldn’t take it anymore.

I attempted to bargain with him. “Fine. But let me go to the bathroom first.”

This was perfect. I could escape from the bathroom window and run when I was done. I was pretty sure I was much faster than him. There were many times where my speed saved me from being caught.

He raised an eyebrow. “Yeah, no. You tell me and then you can go take a piss.”

I scrunched my nose up in disgust. “Not when you say it like that.”

Xander rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. “Look, it’s a fair agreement. You tell me where your dad’s stashed, and you can relieve your organs.”

“I’m not afraid to pee on you.” I tried to give my best glare.

He didn’t seem affected. Instead, Xander rolled his shoulders and leaned against the door. “I’m waiting.”

“Fine, fine.” I squirmed from where I sat. My gaze flitted around as I shifted my thoughts for ideas. What to say? Chewing on my bottom lip, I blurted, “Okay. Um. He’s in--uh--”

“I’m waiting,” he repeated with a harsher tone.

I felt like any moment I’d lose my bladder. “Okay. He’s in a warehouse.”

“Where?” Xander gritted his teeth as he rubbed the bridge of his nose. “Please, babe. Be more specific.”

“In a port. On the west coast. In--in, uh--” Think, think. “San Diego.”

“San Diego?” He grimaced. “Are you sure? You’re not lying to me just to go pee?”

“No, I swear.” I wiggled around on the floor. “Now, please. Let me go pee.”

He stared at me for a moment, looking at my face for something. Whatever it was, he found it because he finally unlocked my shackles.

But just when I thought I was free he attached something to my arm. After he was done I finally asked him, “What’s this?”

He rolled his eyes. “What does it look like? Rope, of course.”

I copied him. “Yeah, I can see that. I don’t need glasses. But why are you tying it to me?”

“You didn’t actually think that I’d let you go by yourself, did you?” He gave me a long look as though I were mentally slow.

“That is honestly disturbing,” I said, squirming in place. “Can we go now?”

“Actually, I think I’m going to let Nick handle this one.” He winked at me before calling Nicholas in.

“Yeah?” Nick asked lazily.

“I need you to take Valerie to the bathroom.”

“Why can’t you do it?” He whined.

“Because,” Xander said, taking a step back, “you’ve had plenty of experience with women.”

I made a gagging noise as I squeezed my legs closer together. “Less talkie, more peepee!”

Xander handed Nicholas the rope and rolled his eyes before walking out.

“Well I guess we should probably go,” he shifted towards the door.

“Yes!” I was practically jumping up and down now.

We walked down a dark corridor together. I would have payed more attention to every twist and turn we took if I didn't have to pee so much. After what seemed like forever we reached the bathroom.

I flung open the door and attempted to slam it shut again before a foot was placed in the way and it flew open again. Nicholas waltzed in and shut the door behind him.

“Dude, not cool. I really have to pee!” I jumped around, barely holding my bladder in.

“Yeah? Well, orders are for me not to leave your side. Even in the bathroom.” He smirked devilishly at me.

“Can you at least turn around?”

Nicholas obeyed my command and spun on his heel. With his back now facing me, I quickly relieved myself and flushed the toilet.

“Done?” Without giving me time to answer, he turned around. Luckily, I was covered.

“Yep. Thanks for asking before you turned around.” I replied, sarcasm laced throughout my tone.

“No problem.”

We walked out of the bathroom and into a hallway before he abruptly stopped. Since he was holding my rope, I was forced to stop as well.

“Do you honestly think I’m gay?” Nicholas’ question caught me off guard.

Before I could answer, he smacked his lips together and pressed them against mine, pushing me against the wall. My body responded without my consent and the kiss got heated. He wasn’t even as attractive as Xander, but a few days in captivity could have a huge impact on a girl.

“Excuse me!” A manly voice yelled out, startling us apart. My face went pale at the idea of being caught by Xander.

Surprising me, it was not Xander. The man in front of me was tall, with a muscular build.

He had his hand on his hip and his jaw on the floor. He, like Nicholas, wore sunglasses indoors and his look was just as flamboyant. His body was slim and his face was innocent. He carried an oversized gucci handbag.

“Can I help you?” I asked as I pushed Nicholas away. He frowned as he rubbed his shoulder but said nothing.

“What the hell were you doing with Nicky?” The man with the Gucci crossed his arms and tapped his foot.

“Norman,” Nicholas grunted. “Please, don’t embarrass me.”

“Don’t look at me.” I raised my hands defensively. “He just wanted to prove he wasn’t a homosexual bastard. Although, if I could see it through all the women he sleeps with, I don’t think a kiss would have proved anything.”

“Oh, he doesn’t need to prove anything.” Norman glared at Nicholas, and his hurt-filled face contorted into a visage of anger.

“Wait...” I stood in contemplation before the realization hit me. I began to chuckle a little bit, and then my laugh became crazier. Within seconds it evolved into an all-out guffaw, and I was on the floor by the time it died down.

Nicholas grabbed my arm and yanked me up off the floor.

“Listen up, you little stinker. You’re getting on my nerves. If you want me to tell Xander that you are giving me problems, he can and will kill you faster than a heartbeat. Do you understand missy?”

“I’m not even going to pretend that I’m scared of your threat.” I faked a yawn and smirked at him.

Nicholas rolled his eyes and dragged me up, leading me back into the room without further interruption. When he saw Xander in the room and handed me over to him before storming out the door.

“What’s with him?” Xander questioned me suspiciously.

I didn’t reply, but simply shrugged.

Xander hooked me back up to the chain before leaving the room and coming back with a tray. He came over to where my chain was hooked in the wall and sat down next to me.

“Since you told me where your dad was you can have something to eat,” he told me.

“About time!” I spat.

“Don’t be a bitch or I’ll walk away again with this food,” Xander said coldly.

“No!” As much as I wanted to push him away I was starving, “Please.”

He sat down next to me and handed me some bread from the plate he was holding. I devoured it hungrily. He laughed slightly.

“What?” I growled.

“You’re cute when you eat,”

I turned away, blushing. He set a glass of water down on the ground next to me.

“Thanks,” I mumbled. He just smiled. I soon felt tired as it was getting late. I felt my head and eyelids getting heavier. Xander was still perched beside me. Without thinking I lay my head down on his shoulder. He felt warm and comfortable. He didn’t make any effort to move. I soon fell asleep like that.
