《The Football Player's Roommate》39.

I sat in the living room watching tv...well that'd be a lie. I had the tv on, but my eyes were too occupied watching staring at the clock.
I was waiting on Theo to get back from his late night workout at the gym since I honestly didn't want to go to sleep on my own. Of course Gracie was with me, but Theo had a certain trait about him that made slumber come instantly to me.
Maybe it was the fact that he made my nerves calm, or that he just made me feel safe and protected overall. Having him next to me was like a drug. Once you had him, you never wanted to let go. He was an addiction that I never wanted to rid from my life.
At the sound of keys unlocking the door, both mine and Gracie's ears perked up. Gracie jumped from the couch and bolted to the door with her tail a wagging to see who our latest visitor was.
"There's my Gracie." I heard an all too familiar voice sound.
A grin immediately graced my face as I walked towards the sound. Only to find Theo bent over next to Gracie while he was petting her on the head. I couldn't help but admire how cute the duo looked together. They were like two peas in a pod.
"You're still up?" Theo asked kind of shocked as he looked up to me as before he stood and brushed his knees off.
"Yeah...I couldn't sleep." I say with a tired smile.
His hair was still damp from the shower he must've taken after his workouts. He'd been driving for hours from Louisiana, then as soon as we got home he went to the gym. He must've been exhausted.
"Well, I'm here now!" He shifted his duffel from his shoulder to the floor before walking over to me.
The scent of his amazing soap immediately filled my nostrils as he wrapped his long, muscled arms around me. His embrace was exactly what I needed and I instantly snuggled into him with a happy smile. With Theo home and little Gracie at our feet wagging that adorable little tail, I once again felt at home.
Not because we were back in our apartment, but because I had my Theo back.
When we left for Thanksgiving we weren't exactly on the best of terms, but over through all the obstacles we face on our way down there we only grew closer. Then the way he was there to help me through everything only made me love him even more.
Everything that happened was a part of the past. Like I said before I had forgiven him long ago. But if I had forgiven him then why did I feel so awful going into his room?
As we laid in his bed, Theo's one arm was wrapped around my waist with his remaining hand in my hair. We'd been laying there for awhile and I just couldn't just doze off. Theo's breathing was steady so I assumed he was lucky enough to be in a deep sleep.
"What are you thinking about?" I felt his chest make vibrations against my back as he asked the sudden question.
"I don't know what you are talking about." I said with my nose in the air.
He let out a husky chuckle before pulling me closer. "Yeah, right. You don't have to be so stubborn, Mya. Just tell me what's up."
I let out a huff and rolled my eyes. "Like I said nothing's wrong."

I climbed over him and walked across the freezing floorboards to my room. Unfortunately his loud steps quickly followed after.
As I pulled back the sheets and blankets on my bed to get ready to get in Theo's hand clasped around my wrist to stop me.
"Come on, baby. Just tell me what's happening with you. You know what happens when we keep things from each other. It never ends well. We end up just hurting ourselves." He said from behind me.
Honestly, my heart did a quick hurdle over my ribs before slamming back into its correct space at the way he called me "baby." I sighed at my pathetic-ness when it came to him. He had the ability to cause such crazy reactions to my body that I didn't even know existed.
My hands were tingly and a bit clammy as I turned to face him.
"You really want to know?" I asked wiling my palms on my cozy pajama pants.
"Yes. You know you can tell me anything, princess." He said as he walked closer to me and caressed my face in his hands. They molded perfectly around my cheeks and chin as if they were meant to be there.
I stared into his intense eyes full of worry and concern and eventually lost concentration. I shook my head to try and get back on topic. This resulted in his arms to drop back at his sides.
Within seconds I already missed the contact of his fingers on my skin.
I walked across the room to distance myself so I could think clearly. He was right. We were a couple now, and in order to have a trustful relationship with another person you have to actually open up to them.
Since the last thing I wanted was to mess up the best relationship I've ever had with the guy I love, I decided to be honest with him.
"Alright, Theo. You want the truth. I'll tell you the truth. I don't like sleeping in your room."
"My room? I don't underst-"
"I don't like it...anymore. That time when you were constantly bringing in all those girls, Theo? You remember that time?"
He stood there speechless. And I took that as my cue to continue.
"Yeah well that time hurt me. Yes, I forgave you instantly but it still hurt. Just give me some time, okay?"
"Alright. I'll give you some time." He said sadly.
"Thank you. Now let's get to bed. I don't want you all tired for your big game tomorrow." I sent him a small smile and climbed into bed with him right behind me.
But this time it was him who couldn't sleep.
"What is it, Theo?" I asked as I sat up from my cozy spot.
"I'm sorry, Amaya. I really am. I know I acted so stupid. In that moment I just wanted you to feel as much pain as I did. Seeing you with another guy made me feel...it just sucked. But there's something you should know." He said before staring down into his lap looking ashamed with himself.
I was confused...what else would he have to admit that I didn't already know??
"What is it?" I asked kind of scared.
"I never slept with any of them. Hell. I never even kissed any of them." He said as he twiddled with his thumbs.
"Yeah, right!" I snickered.
"What?" He asked.
"That blonde bimbo you had here was literally walking around with no pants on...no pants!!"

"I'm telling you the truth, sweetie...she showed up in that. When I asked her about it she literally just said it was a t-shirt dress." He looked mortified just talking about it. We both knew that it was just a "long" t-shirt. There was no way that was an actual t-shirt dress.
I almost laughed. That's right...laughed.
"What about all the other ones? Did you just invite them here to make me jealous or hurt me?" I whisper asked.
He leaned over and held one cheek in his hand before turning it to face him. "Listen to me, Mya. I was a mess, okay? I made stupid decisions. I know I caused you pain. More pain than I ever wanted, and I will always be sorry for that. I love you more than I could ever any of those girls. You make me happy and make me a better person. And I don't ever want to let you go. Please believe me with all of this." He said as he leaned in to kiss me and I let him.
"Like I said many many times ago...I forgave you a long time ago. But Theo I believe you. Of course I believe you. I trust you with all my heart. I trust you with this." I snuggled in closer to him. "I'm sorry."
"For what?" He asked.
"I messed up our whole happy bubble." I said annoyed with my own actions.
"You could never do such a thing!" He gasped over dramatically like a little girl with new gossip to dish making me giggle like a child myself.
Once we recollected ourselves he leaned to my ear and whispered softly. "You are the reason the "bubble" is happy."
I grinned up to him before capturing him in a long love-filled kiss.

I rolled my eyes as we both walked towards the kitchen. "Theo, how many times have I told you that I seriously don't want to go?"
"A million, but please just go?" He asked with pleading eyes sent my way. "I'll be with you the entire time."
I sighed knowing I could never turn down those eyes. "Fine, but you owe me something."
"Whatever your heart desires, sweetheart." He smirked as he squeezed my shoulders just as we made it to the kitchen counter.
My kitchen had never looked more amazing than right now. All I knew was that I was starving and my whole event that Theo's insistent on me going to is going to suck. I knew it would with all my heart and soul.
Meeting up with Sam wasn't exactly how I wanted to spend a free Friday morning, but Theo insisted on it. Mostly because he wanted Sam to tell me the truth of what happened and what went down with our whole friendship.
To be honest, I didn't really care anymore. I had Theo, so whatever jerk-ish thing Sam did was long past my caring.
I tried to tell Theo that he needed to be at his game, so he only scheduled our Sam meeting for even earlier. Joy!
Theo made french toast for breakfast and I immediately scarfed it down. The quicker I got done eating, the quicker we went to see Sam, the scumbag, and the quicker it'd be over.
I gave Theo a closed mouth smile as my cheeks were puffed up with food.
"Wow. Is it good? I don't know if you can even taste all the goodies I put in it." He smirked before he took the pan to the sink and started to clean it.
I took a much needed deep breath before swallowing the rest of my food and watched as Theo did the dishes. He was shirtless and I was absolutely mesmerized.
"Oh, yeah what kind of "goodies?" I asked kind of raspy since my throat was honestly kind of itchy right now.
You guys ever get that feeling where you need to itch your throat, but you can't because it's your throat.??
"Ya know. Some powdered sugar, maple syrup, and my secret ingredient!!" He whispered the last two words like it was unknown top secret knowledge of the CIA.
"And what could that possibly be?" I asked with a cough. I must've stuffed all that food in too fast. I should listen to my mom more often.
"Sexiness." He smirked back to me.
"Haha. I thought you actually meant an actual ingredient. Too bad. I was gonna make my own cookbook with your recipe." I said sarcastically before wiping a fake tear.
"Okay...since you asked nicely. The special, top secret, amazing, outlawed ingredient is....cinnamon!!" He shouted the last part and it started to make sense.
My itchy throat, difficulty breathing, coughing...I was having an allergic reaction!!! I hadn't had one since I was about six so I'd missed the obvious symptoms.
"Theo, we meed to get to a hospital." I said as I felt my lips and tongue started to become more swollen and numb.
"Yeah? Why's that?" He asked as he continued to do dish after dish with his back turned to me. "Because my extreme hotness is causing you a heat stroke?"
My nose began to run like the river and my eyes started to water.
I most likely needed medical help and stat!
Ha-ha. I always enjoyed making medical funnies.
"Feo. Can you pwease just wissen to me?" I asked as my tongue was starting to become hard to use correctly.
"Why are you talking like a little girl with a lisp. Ya know it's not very funny to make fun of people, Amayaaaa!!" As he was finishing up his sentence he turned and saw me and screamed the last letter of my name.
"Do I wook dat bad?!"
"I'll only ever say this once in my lifetime to you, princess, but you wook barry bad."
