As Lauren and I step in I get tackled in hugs from the younger children.
Once the kid let go of me I see Mia and I kneel down to hug her.
"Happy birthday Mia,"I say.
"Thank you,"She says.
I grab my wallet and hand her forty bucks.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get you an actual present I've been stressed,"I say.
"It's fine mommy told me you're planning to get married with Lauren,"She says.
"I am,"
"So it's okay?"I ask and she nods.
"I promise it's okay,"She says.
Lauren smiles at my interaction with my cousin.
I get back up and hug some of my cousins.
Lauren wraps her arms around my waist while I'm in the middle of a conversation with Alex.
As I turn around and raise my arms to put them around Lauren Alex gasps.
"What?"I ask.
"Your wrists!"
I instantly groan.
"Long story short I tried ignoring Lauren for a day she got pissed and this was the outcome,"
She scrunches her face.
"I'm never looking at you the same,"She says.
I roll my eyes.
"Sarah wanted to talk to you,"Lauren says.
"Okay,"
We walk outside and walk over to Sarah.
"Hey Sar,"I say.
"Hey Y/N so about your wedding all of are going except for your dad?"She asks.
"Yup that's what's planned and I hope it stays like that,"
A few seconds later Lauren and I get pushed into the pool by little kids.
I swim back up to the top and Lauren comes up soon after.
"These kids,"I groan.
Lauren smiles.
I groan and throw my drenched clothes into the dryer along with Lauren's.
Lauren wraps her arms around me and I start the dryer.
"I saw how you acted with Mia,"Lauren says.

"Yeah I still feel bad I didn't get her something,"I say.
"Babe it's fine. I just can't wait until we have kids one day,"She says.
"I see the way you interact with all of the little kids. You care about them so much, and I can't wait until we have kids to see how caring you are about them,"She says.
"Kids? Multiple?"I question.
"Yeah I don't want only one,"She says.
"Calm down. We still have a long way to go before we have a kid,"I say.
"Hopefully not that long,"She mumbles.
"I heard that, and it will be way down the road. I want to make sure I'm ready so I don't disappoint our kid,"I say.
"You won't disappoint our kids,"She says.
"One. Kid. Not kids,"I say.
"We'll see down the road,"She smirks.
"Also I did something while you were down her acting like a responsible person and doing laundry,"She says.
"What'd you do? Should I be scared?"I question.
She ignored the questions and drags me to the living room.
As she stops I look around.
I gasp.
"Babe you didn't have to do this,"I say looking at the fort she made out of sheets and pillows.
"It was nothing. I know you have to go try dresses in a couple days so I don't want you to be stressed,"She says.
"Come on,"She says and pulls me closer to the fort.
She crawls inside and I follow her.
"I love you so much. How did I get this lucky?"I ask.
"I love you more and I should be the one asking that,"
"Lauren. You're literally the only person that I ever opened up to the day we met. I take a while to trust people, but with you it didn't take time. You're were the first person I told about my dad abusing me, you were the first person I told about my broken family. You were the first person to actually stand up to my dad. I think I'm the lucky one here,"I say.

"How about we agree that we're both lucky?"She asks and I nod.
She lays down and I lay down beside her with my one of my legs over her and my head on her chest with my arm across her stomach.
She kisses my head and I smile.
We just lay there cuddling and talking about some memories we share with each other.
"Remember when I first met your parents and you literally tackled Lisa?"I ask.
"Yeah, but in my defense she basically sold us out,"She responds.
"I mean we were making out on the couch in the living room,"I say.
"Its funny how the girls use to hate when we kissed and now it doesn't even phase them,"
"That's because they got use to it,"I say.
"Well I mean I'm sorry our hormones were worse last year. And in my defense after you played a game of lacrosse you looked hot,"She says.
"I remember when you use to get jealous at my games because a few cheerleaders kept talking to me. And then I reassured you that I love you and only you,"I say.
"In my defense those cheerleaders tried to get there hands on whoever they could."
"Yeah I was tired of it."
"Oh my god remember when on my first day at school when that one jock kept looking at me and you went off!"She says.
"He was being a dick,"I say.
"Babe so many people stared at me in school,"She says.
"And did I like it? Not at all,"
"You couldn't control it,"
"Guys should learn how to control themselves so. It was not my fault,"I say.
"Remember when we were sitting agains the wall on my first day and I told you how I was insecure about my fingers and you somehow comforted me and calmed me down. And then you told me if anyone bullied me for it that I had to tell you. And right after that we kissed,"
"Yeah of course I remember it was our first kiss,"
We talked for hours about our high school relationship and everything that led up to this moment.
I love this girl and I can't wait to marry her, have a kid with her, and be with her through everything else in life.

A Castle in a Teacup
One might say that to anger forces beyond the ken of fragile breakable mortals is a bad idea, others might say that meddling in dark forces with little chance of gain is also a bad idea, they would both be right by on all counts but they forget to mention also how incredibly stupid combining both of those things are. Stupid people don’t last so long on the mystic side of things, normal folks who wander over to the other side have a tendency to do one of two things, either A. figure out that the best thing to do is keep their head down and not draw attention from any entity that refers to humanity as “you mortals” , or B. something horrifying happens to them. As you may have guessed I fell into the second category, mostly because I thought there was a third option. See I though there must be an option C, an option where I got to end up not as some shitty back ally wizard cowering at the chance of discovery, praying that one of my wards or spells wouldn’t be noticed by something that goes bump in the night. No I would be the one who rose above all that. I would never have to be afraid. Well I made a good attempt at it that’s for damn sure, but unfortunately for me it turns out there is not an option C. At least not for me…
