《ginger & brunette {an Elmax ff}》Chapter 2 - MadMax

Eleven's POV:
I'm standing in my room, trying to pick an outfit. I guess an oversized, dark blue shirt and jeans will do it. I get my backpack and the project and go downstairs. Will and Jonathan are already waiting. "Let's go", Will says, opening the door for us. "Thanks", I smile. Outside, Argyle already opened the door from his pizza truck. We always drive with him to school. "Wassup, Brochachos", he greets us. We all go inside the truck, while we say "hi" back to him. As we drive off (really fast, like always), Joyce runs out and shouts, that we should drive slower. But of course Argyle doesn't (he probably smoked these plants again). But we all get safe to school and me and Will go upstairs to Mrs Gracey's class. As I sit, the bell rings and Mrs Gracey walks into the classroom. But she isn't alone. She has somebody with her. A girl. She has ginger hair, freckles and clear, wonderful, ice blue eyes. She wears a jacket and jeans. So simple, but she looks very good in it. "Class,", Mrs Gracey starts, "we have a new student. Her name is Maxine-" "Nobody calls me Maxine. It's Max*", she interrupts her. Even though I have only a t-shirt on, I'm hot. I don't get it. Right before Mrs Gracey walked in, I was cold. Anyways. "Oh, my bad I'm sorry, Max. Alright, please take a seat on Jane's left, the girl in the middle.", Mrs Gracey points on me. My eyes wide and I sweat, as Max looks at me. Why is it so hot in here, I really don't get it. "Alright. Please treat Max nicely and now, let's begin with the presentations.", Mrs Gracey continues. She takes out her jaw, with all the names of the class: "Angela". I don't like her. Infact I hate her. She always makes fun of me, 'bullies' me, like Will always says. I look at my project. It looks so bad, compared to Angela's projector-presentation. Now I do hope, that Mrs Gracey doesn't pull my name out of that jaw.

Angela has finished. "That was wonderful, Angela.", Mrs Gracey says. "The next person is....", I cross my fingers, "Jane". No. No. No. No.... but I have no choice. I look at Will, he claps and nods confidently. I got to go up there. And that's what I am doing now. I walk past Angela and she already smirks, meanly as possible. "Hi.*", I say, as I stand in front of the class. "So uh.. for my hero .." I start. I notice, that Max stares at me. "I-I chose my dad..*", I continue. Angela's "gang" starts to giggle. That makes me feel very uncomfortable, but I'm strong and I continue. "S-So I made this visual aid of our cabin." "It looks like a hotdog stand", Angela shouts. Everyone starts to laugh. Except for Max and Will. I laugh nervously with the others. "And uh.. this is my dad", I say, taking the figure I made and showing it to the class. I speak further about him, everytime I explain some details, Angela starts to snicker. I'm fighting, not to cry. I add and say more."...because..b-because..", I mumble, Angela's hand is rising. "Becau-...be-", I try and look back to Mrs Gracey. "Questions for later, Angela." "Yeah, right.. I'm just confused.. I thought this presentation should be about a historical hero?", she says. "My dad was in the news paper!", I posit."Your local paper*?", Angela scoffs and the whole class starts to laugh(Exept for Will and Max). I try, to defend dad: "He saved lots of lifes... in a mallfire" Angela and her "gang" roll their eyes. She makes more fun of dad and that's it for me. I can't hold my tears back anymore.
"It was so bad", I sob, storming away from that classroom. Will is catching up with me: "No, it-it was actually pretty good!", he tries."Friends don't lie!*", I shout and run away.

I pack my things and rush out of Mrs Gracey's class. This girl, Jane, just held her presentation. It was actually quite good, but some girls made fun of her. I can't stand such bitches. I pull my timetable out of my jeans pocket; next lesson is......
The bell rings, finally this day is over. I mean, it wasn't that bad, I guess, but school is boring as fuck. I didn't make friends, but actually I don't really care about that, I bet as soon as people know, that I'm a lesbian, I won't have friends anyway. I push the door open and there is standing, with her backpack and many books and her presentation, Jane. She seems to have a bit trouble, carrying all that stuff, so I go up to her. "Can I help?", I ask. Her eyes wide. "Uh..no....yes", she answers, quietly. "Is everything alright?", I say, as I take some of her books. She nods. "Okay. Where are you headed?", I say. "Library.", Jane answers. "Oh, well you have to show me, where that is. Come on, I'll follow you", I tell her. She is very shy, I guess. She still looks a bit confused at me. "Okay", she mumbles. So I follow her to the library and we send away these books. On the way back, I decide to talk a bit with her. "So your name is Jane, right?", I ask. "Yeah." "Cool, my name is Max, as you already know, I guess." She nods. We reach the exit door and I push it open. "You first", I say and hold the door open for her. "Thanks", she smiles. Her smile is adorable. "El! There you are!", a dude runs up to Jane. He has a bowl cut and his t-shirt is tucked in his shorts. Oh and he has a rainbow bracelet around his wrist. He looks very gay. "Uh yeah...", Jane mumbles and looks at me. "Come on, Argyle and Jonathan are already waiting", he adds and drags Jane after him. She looks back and gives me an i'm-sorry-view. "Eh.. ya bye.", I say, a bit confused.
I go to the parking lot, put on my head phones and wait for Billy.

NEWDIE STEADSLAW Part I
NEWDIE STEADSLAW is a randomized array of Chekhov's red herrings, non sequitors ex machina, run-on sentences, and em dashes—so many em dashes. It's like if the Bible and Shakespeare had a baby that they surrendered to foster care, then it got adopted by Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss—the books, not the people—and then the baby fell down the stairs. In this metaphor, the stairs wrote the story. Part I is the tale of the adventures of Traycup and Roby as they try to hold down a job inside the hollow Earth—a place made possible thanks to the secret science of embargoed relativity—and they get distracted by dancing foxes, a giant's record collection, and something with a train, I think. It's a work of fiction—although to call it work seems insulting to, y'know, actual work—but the fiction label is apt, so, y'know, that's a win. Half the words are made up, and the other half are embarrassed to be seen with them. Part I is complete.
